Trump baffles everyone by announcing a ‘super-duper missile’ — and no one knows what he meant Written by Eoin Higgins / Common Dreams May 15, 2020 749 President Donald Trump on Friday afternoon said the U.S. military is developing a “super-duper missile” that can go 17 times faster than any existing rocket, earning him ridicule from critics. “We have, I call it, the super-duper missile,” said Trump. “And I heard the other night—17 times faster than what they have right now, when you take the fastest missile we have right now.” (Trump invents another squirrel to point at for his followers.) https://www.alternet.org/2020/05/trump-baffles-everyone-by-announcing-a-super-duper-missile-and-no-one-knows-what-he-meant/

Two factors cast doubt on Ms. Reade's allegations: firstly, she claimed that Biden attacked her in an alcove down a certain hallway, and reporters walked that hallway and found nothing that resembled her description- only a well-lit busy hall that is often patrolled by police. Secondly, despite all the furor, no other women have come forward, and all the women who worked where Biden did were interviewed. None reported any inappropriate contacts. Worse, Ms. Reade's case has been used to disqualify or trivialize much more credible reports by women.

Tara Reade’s rape allegation against Joe Biden must be taken seriously. New details suggest it just isn’t credible Written by Joshua Holland May 15, 2020 645 Tara Reade’s claim that former Vice President Joe Biden raped her in 1993 is difficult for the left in large part because her original claim–that he rubbed her shoulders, made her uncomfortable and that his staff then retaliated against her for complaining about it–is credible. I believe that Biden behaved inappropriately toward Reade but I don’t think her rape charge is at all credible. There are two interrelated reasons why.

DeVos Showering Wealthy Private and Religious Schools With Coronavirus Aid, Says Report REGARDLESS OF NEED Jamie Ross Reporter Published May. 15, 2020 6:49AM ET When Congress set aside $30 billion for education institutions facing ruin because of the coronavirus pandemic shutdowns, it’s pretty clear this is not what they had in mind. ‘I was wrong’: McConnell admits his attack on Obama was bogus — and refuses to defend Trump In an online discussion on Monday with the Trump campaign, Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell launched a peculiar and factually challenged attack at former President Barack Obama. “They claim pandemics only happen once every hundred years, but what if that’s no longer true?” McConnell said to Lara Trump. “We want to be early, ready for the next one, because clearly the Obama administration did not leave to this administration any kind of game plan for something like this.” https://www.alternet.org/2020/05/i-was-wrong-mcconnell-admits-his-attack-on-obama-was-bogus-and-refuses-to-defend-trump/ Looks like the GOP is retreating into individual survival positions and beginning to distance themselves from Trump.

Nah. He would get Barr to do it.

No end of possible bad jokes here.

There are things living under rocks that would be a better choice.

The depth of his stupidity and self-absorption is beyond belief. Alec Baldwin's portrayals on SNL are eerily accurate and not an exaggeration at all.

On behalf of all C.A.R.P. members, I reject the comparison.

The judge who sentenced Roger Stone to prison orders Trump administration to turn over Ukraine emails The Trump administration has refused to publicly release 20 emails pertaining to withheld military aid to Ukraine ALEX HENDERSON MAY 14, 2020 3:18PM (UTC) The Trump Administration has been refusing to publicly release 20 e-mails pertaining to President Donald Trump's decision to withhold military aid to Ukraine in 2019, insisting that executive privilege protects them from having to do so. But Amy Berman Jackson, the federal judge and Barack Obama appointee who sentenced Trump ally Roger Stone to three years in federal prison, disagrees — and she has ordered the Trump Administration to release the e-mails. https://www.salon.com/2020/05/14/judge-who-sentenced-roger-stone-to-prison-orders-trump-administration-to-turn-over-ukraine-emails_partner/

Attempt to dismiss Flynn charges upended as court appoints former judge to probe possible perjury The judge will also "present arguments in opposition" of the DOJ's motion to dismiss criminal charges against Flynn IGOR DERYSH MAY 14, 2020 4:42PM (UTC) A retired federal judge has been appointed to "present arguments in opposition" of the Department of Justice's motion to dismiss criminal charges against former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, in an extraordinary move, appointed retired judge John Gleeson to not only oppose the government's motion but also present arguments on "whether the court should issue an order to show cause why Mr. Flynn should not be held in criminal contempt for perjury." Sullivan put a hold on the Justice Department's motion to drop the charges earlier this week. https://www.salon.com/2020/05/14/attempt-to-dismiss-flynn-charges-upended-as-court-appoints-former-judge-to-probe-possible-perjury/

Trump Calls for Obama to Be Hauled Before Congress for Massive Crimes He Declines to Outline “I understand President Trump’s frustration, but be careful what you wish for,” Lindsey Graham responded. Rachel Olding Breaking News Editor Updated May. 14, 2020 12:53PM ET / Published May. 14, 2020 11:56AM ET If President Donald Trump’s Twitter feed is an indication of where his head is at, his thoughts on Thursday morning were far from the 84,000 Americans that have died from COVID-19. The president’s morning obsessions included Barack Obama, a government whistleblower, his 22-0 record on congressional endorsements, and unspecified “good numbers” coming out of states that have begun to wind back pandemic-related shutdowns. In a tweet tagging Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, Trump called for former President Obama to be brought before Congress to testify about unspecified crimes that Trump thinks constitutes the biggest scandal in history. https://www.thedailybeast.com/
