Things have gotten to the point where criticizing the coaching is like shooting fish in a barrel and beating a dead horse.

If memory serves, when the ball is launched, all the DBs who are not targeted and can see the toss are supposed to be calling "ball ball ball" to alert any DBs who are not watching the QB to look out. It didn't seem to have happened in this instance at least.

Hindsight is always perfect, but it was a risk, hiring a rookie head coach and a rookie GM at the same time.

FWIW: Over at 3downation, John Hodge dumped all over O'Shea for not only leaving an obviously injured Streveler in the game but also for some strange coaching decisions during yesterday's game, echoing what almost all of us here have said. I suspect that O'Shea is now quietly checking out U-Haul rates.

The total lack of respect by the Stamps for our pass defence was embarrassing. And they made every damned attempt. Either we have one of the worst collections of talent in our secondary or they have not learned pass defence.

If you want an insight into O'Shea's mindset, turn off the audio and watch O'Shea's facial expressions, head movement and eyes. Little eye contact, a lot of head shaking, and in most of his replies, he looks down and to his right- a combination that indicates that he feels overwhelmed and ashamed. His confidence must be near zero.

I cannot justify O'Shea's putting Streveler out there when he was so damaged. It was obvious that Streveler could no longer run or even throw a crisp pass, and yet out he was sent again. Remember at the end of the last season when Reilly was playing for the Esks and hurt? We were all aghast that Maas could be so stupid, and yet here we are.

There was a moment on the sidelines late in the 4th quarter and Streveler had just gone two and out. O'Shea looked totally resigned and that has to affect the team.

For me as a 50+ year fan of the Big Blue, it was very very disheartening to see the Stamps absolutely humiliate the Bomber defensive backfield on each and every two-point conversion. that tells me that the season is over as of October 19th.

As presently constituted, this team is simply not good enough in most areas. Streveler is doing all that he can be expected to do, but poor coaching and a porous defence are enough to sabotage playoffs hopes.
