  1. Now to see if the defence can do their part.
  2. A good workmanlike drive ending in a TD. A good start.
  3. The Montreal Alouettes might finally have a deal in place for new owners. Montreal Gazette reporter Herb Zurkowsky has been tied into the
  4. We need to keep our expectations for Collaros low. He is probably brittle, unfamiliar with the Bombers game plan (if there is such) and is likely rusty as all heck. If he does take the field, it will probably be in dire circumstances. Bombers essentially bought a pig in a poke.
  5. Now you've gone and given away the game plan.
  6. If all the Bombers have is a run game with little threat of passes, they are doomed. The past few games have shown conclusively that a one-trick offence can be effectively stopped. Variety is not only the spice of life, it is also the key to winning games.
  7. Ottawa Arndt expecting too much from their quarterback tonight.
  8. With Collaros in sick bay so much during that period, how could you tell?
  9. The Riders are not a good team, but their record is better than almost everyone expected, and yes, it is due to their coaching. Whoda thunk? Similarly, it was unanimously believed here that the Bombers would be the best team in the league, let alone the west. Pride goeth before a fall.
  10. Riders had few options once Collaros went down. I think what happened was that the Rider coaching staff was smart enough to take best advantage of Fajardo's limited skillset in their game planning. It also didn't hurt them that just about every other team in the CFL (with possible exception of the TiCats) ran into all kinds of problems.
  11. Aaaand... we got one. Damned few options, though.
  12. At some point, the players who have been struggling under the current coaching regime will stop listening and either give up or start doing their own thing, as has happened before. As galling as it is for us fans to see obvious problems in game plans and/or player utilization, it has to be a lot worse for those players who are trying their best.
  13. I've been advocating for years to see Khari back as a coach, but the Alouettes would be insane to let him go if they can prevent it. No doubt he would have a soft spot in his heart for Winnipeg, but how realistic is it to expect him back?
  14. God has a sense of humour.
  15. Doesn't indicate much confidence in McGuire, does it?
  16. Agreed. I have no faith that LaPolice will adapt a game plan to compensate for a brittle QB.
  17. You have to question Collaro's smarts to try to play again after so many serious injuries and facing the reality that another concussion could screw him up for life.
  18. Oh, well, we didn't gain much but didn't lose much. I see this as a token move to calm the masses but from Collaros' point of view, if he takes the field, he ought to have one of the best O-lines in the league to protect his melon.
  19. Why do you try to define any critic of Hall as "haters"? This is not about him as an individual, only about his performance as a coach. Your comment was unnecessarily inflamatory and dismissive.
  20. This has been a peeve of mine for some time with the coaching. I do not think that the backup QBs have been given enough time to show whether they were good enough to be kept and the experience to be able to execute plays if/when called upon.
  21. Don't think the Argo fans are going to have to put up with Mr.Chamblin too much longer.
  22. 'Cause our head coach doesn't believe in that sort of thing.
  23. I do not believe that O'Shea warrants another year, let alone 3. He chose his assistants and damned few have shone. What evidence is there that the next ones he would choose would be any better? Why have the systemic problems in the offence and defence been allowed to continue? Early on in O'Shea's regime, it became obvious that he was slow to change and rigidly, blindly loyal/stubborn, and it was speculated that this would be his downfall. And so it has been. His judgement has been repeatedly shown to be poor. And to those who are saying that if O'Shea gets canned, we are are going to go back to the dark ages of Reinbold, Burke, Daly et al, Walters has shown himself to be able to build a good organization and he ought to be able to find a good replacement for O'Shea. Status quo is not good enough- we are no closer to the Cup than we were three years ago. I think the talent is there, save perhaps at the QB position, but at this point the team has to have lost confidence in their coaches.
  24. Disagree. We have at least good receivers who are hamstrung by a quarterback who is unable, unwilling or forbidden to use his strengths in a RPO game plan. We do not know if this is all on Streveler or LaPolice or both. Either way, we're boned this year once again.
