  1. Not a strong argument- the second half stats do not flatter Nichols. Each team scored 6 points.
  2. Nunc est bibendum!
  3. My apologies. That response was not the best me.
  4. Aaaand...you didn't even have to duck for that one.
  5. Agree to an extent- Nichols does not have to be an all-star if the defence plays as well as it has for the most part this season, but as last Labour Day and Friday showed, Nichols can throw the game away all by himself.
  6. We had all better hope that last Friday was an aberration, particularly on the parts of Nichols and the whole damned O-line. The offence is gonna have to really shine against the hapless Argos to silence the doubters. A bare win will not be good enough.
  7. Nichols has done this a few times, but not consistently. That is what is making many fans crazy.
  8. Unless Kevin Glenn is resurrected, Evans will get all the time he wants.
  9. It was pretty much a given that Matthews would be in the lineup this week (unless it comes out about him being a member of the Manson family and the NXVIM cult), and I would bet that Wolitarsky and Adams will be good to go.
  10. The faithful would have felt a lot better if the Bombers had gone down after a good effort, but this loss was self-inflicted.
  11. Because that is not the way that O'Shea rolls.
  12. My doctor told me that once he told an older lady that she had "acute angina" after her physical and she blushed and then thanked him for the compliment.
  13. Maybe he is actually right.
  14. Considering all the other weird moves that Hervey has made so far, is that so much of a stretch to imagine?
  15. It tends to be an accelerating process- if there is a bad culture, good recruits will leave rather than adopt the "us against them" attitude and then only the problematic recruits will stay and perpetuate the culture.
  16. Yes, "we" need to play a helluva lot better to beat good teams.
  17. There are some really scary police out there- racist, gynophobic, violent and addicted. The worst thing about that is the":blue wall" where they protect their offenders come hell or high water.
  18. This is no a binary answer. If the quarterback is playing as poorly as Nichols did Friday, he can singlehandedly throw the game away as happened last Labour Day. To win, a quarterback does not have to be stellar in execution but he is the spark plug of the team. He has to be at least a ..here it comes...a game manager. Nichols was neither stellar nor average against the 'Cats.
  19. More than that, I am sure that he is happy to not be associated with this disaster of a team.
  20. The Lions are so bad in so many areas that any new GM, or coach for that matter, would not know where to start.
  21. Not one good game this week. According to the TSN broadcast, Hervey went into the Lions' dressing room after the last pathetic outing/game and called the whole team out complete with insults and threats. Obviously, his screed had the desired effect. At this rate, the Lions will be fortunate to win one game and their collective body language at the end of the second quarter perked up a bit but they are screwed and they all know it.
  22. A bit late, now don't you think? Hardrick was as bad as any of the O-line and as a veteran, he should have been one to step up, kick a Gator-Ade container or whatever to wake up the unit and maybe even grab Nichols by the grille and demand better.
  23. There is no magic fix if true. Of all the things that coaches can help players with, this has to be the hardest. An athlete's ego-strength is an intensely personal thing and while other can help, it is an internal thing.
  24. I am not happy that the next Bomber game is against the sad-sack Argos who will put up the resistance of a wet Kleenex. If the Bombers roll over the Argos, as they probably will, they may assume that all is well and Hakuna Mata. I would have preferred them to play the Esks next to find out if they have what it takes to grind out a win when things are not going well, or if they are pretenders who have had the benefit of a soft schedule.
