Talking about Rider news: (From 3downnation) Canadian defensive tackle and Rider draft pick David Onyemata has been arrested and issued a misdemeanour citation for illegal possession of marijuana according to a report by the New Orleans Advocate.

I like the way he makes the contested catches in traffic and does the fade routes very well. Looks more promising than the receiver the Bombers signed last week and maybe we won't have to overpay for a veteran primo passcatcher.

Carter is an undeniable athletic star who has been coddled and excused. Hi sense of entitlement will probably not allow him to humble himself enough to be a team player. He will probably always be a half-baked star-in-waiting hiding in the weeds.

If we follow the logic of "the locker room will straighten him out", then would not the next step to sign a certain wide receiver ie: Duron Carter? God knows, the talent is there.

Under the right circumstances, an "adequate" quarterback can win it all in the CFL. Nichols has shown himself to be better than that, but not consistently. Any of the quarterbacks that have worn Rider green would have loved to be "adequate". The Riders problems go a lot deeper than just shoddy quarterbacking.

Nichols may not be Bo-Levi but he is at least adequate and very good when he is on his game. Succession planning is critical and if the Rider faithful are expecting Mitchell to land in Regina, they are delusional. And $600k total for Collaros and Bridge???? No wonder Chris Jones wanted out of Pile O Bones so badly with that kind of GM acumen.
