  1. And I assume that will mean our defence is vulnerable now.
  2. Was someone scratching your ear at the time?
  3. There is a synthetic drug by the name of "bath salts"- cathinone which is a derivative of Khat. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. For the record it has no connection to the ammonia-based "smelling salts".
  4. I'm sure that the homework hotline in Regina was very busy today. And a few dictionaries were sold.
  5. I have heard the old ones speak of such things in hushed tones late at night around the fire.
  6. Agreed. I have seen nothing in Bowman's play this year to justify his salary or his even being on the field. The games against Toronto ought to tell us if he has any game left.
  7. If we are looking for a logical explanation for the second-half implosion by the Bombers, we will be looking for a long time. It was a group brain cramp, but I would have been somewhat comforted if O'Shea had displayed some anger after the game.
  8. I don't have the benefit of a recorded game to assess, but as I was watching the game, it looked to me that the Lions were stacking the box to take away the run. Could the fact that the Bombers stopped running indicate lack of confidence in their run blocking? I recall thinking that they were not using Harris as a receiver and wondering why.
  9. The Lions stifled the Bomber offence in the second half by taking away Adams and Harris and that gave Lulay multiple chances to get his game untracked- then the Bomber defence folded.
  10. I cannot disagree with much of what you say, but the Bombers were schooled on Saturday night. Most of us had written Wally and the Lions off after the first half but that came back to bite us big time. The Lions made half-time adjustments and the Bomber coaches once again could or did not. "You are what your record says you are."
  11. Franklin ought to be treated with the same respect given to veteran QB's or the defence will be even more holey than it has been,
  12. If the Bombers sweep the Argos, that would be great. A split will be frustrating, and getting swept will be very difficult for this team to bounce back from, particularly if the defence does its usual collapse.
  13. To flog a deceased equine, the loss had two prominent features: the offensive performance was atypically way below what we have come to expect, and the defensive implosion was, alas, what we have come to expect since Hall's arrival. We can reasonably expect better things from Nichols and the offence, but I have no confidence in the defence any more.
  14. If you wanna get picky, it is "foetal position".
  15. I loved the headline, "Bombers Ready To Move on.." What would their alternative have been? Curl into "feeble positions" and weep profusely?
  16. I believe I do remember the play you referenced. The Bombers made so many other mistakes that this particular play was almost irrelevant. Even if they got the proper spot, they were so inept that there was no guarantee they would have cashed it in.
  17. Of all the problems the Bombers had in that game, that would count as # 54 in impact.
  18. I am not ready to give up on Nichols yet. A lot of CFL quarterbacks have won the Cup without a rifle arm, although that does help. I do think that the Bomber offence has to be tuned up and the roles of Dressler and Bowman have to be examined.
  19. And keep doubling it with each additional infraction. That'll do it.
  20. I would venture to say that the Bombers will drop in the ratings like a stone in a well.
  21. O'Shea's record speaks for itself, but the telling stat is how many playoffs the team has won under his leadership- ZERO. Leadership is about making the hard decisions and I thought it was telling when O'Shea drove over to Willy's residence to tell him about the trade that moved Willy out of here much too late. I maintain that you cannot be a buddy to players and lead them at the same time.
  22. That was the worst half of football I have seen Nichols play since he got here. He looked solid if not spectacular in the first half but he looked like he was drugged in the second half. I don't know what Bowman is getting paid, but its way too much. Either he cannot get open or he is not trying. I was pleasantly surprised at the tight, aggressive play of the defence in the first half, but in the second half it was the same old, same old. To me it is looking more and more like O'Shea is still reluctant to force the changes needed to challenge for the Cup- bench whoever is not producing and fire Hall if that is required. The team needs to be sent a message.
  23. I expect the Lions to throw everything they have at Nichols right from the whistle on. It will be interesting to see how/if LaPolice compensates.
  24. Has he put on that much weight?
  25. Or if he mugs a nun on Provencher Avenue while wearing a MAGA shirt.
