  1. A couple of thoughts about last night's game: Franklin is the real thing- another Damon Allen in the making, and we ought to go easy on Suitor- he is paid to hype the game and as as many commentators, will focus on a theme for the game to avoid looking wishy-washy. And Wynn ought to be suspended for at least one game and fined. There cannot be any excuse for that sort of thuggery on a vulnerable player.
  2. Lulay's biggest asset is not his scrambling nor his ability to read defences. Its Richie Hall's inability to adapt his defences.
  3. Probably going to play nose tackle and return punts as well.
  4. The Stamps have the best-balanced, best-staffed team they have had in years, and do look to be the team to measure others against. However in one game, anything can happen- and sometimes does. That's what makes the playoff so riveting.
  5. A painful game to watch. Has Ottawa's defence been taking lessons from Richie Hall?
  6. I think the honeymoon is over between Jones and the (sane) Rider fans. He was to be the one to lead them to the cup while making them envy of the league, but so far its been all sizzle and no steak. As has been posted here repeatedly, a head coach and/or GM can get away with a lot if they deliver wins, but that ain't been happening in Regina.
  7. That's what you get when you don't have indoor plumbing. Especially hard on the female population there.
  8. Agreed, and there seems to be something off about the Esks this year. Not quite the juggernaut of the past couple of years.
  9. Durant's personal ethics aside, he is probably good enough to be the instant starter in Regina and get them into the playoffs. Jones is likely losing sleep trying to figure out how to get Durant's rights without kissing an O-ring.
  10. Three predictions about the game: 1) The Bombers will win handily 2) All of the Lions fans will arrive in the same taxi 3) Wally will take a giant step towards retirement
  11. From 3downnation: (And I wonder about his sex life) Argos work out former Pro Bowl returner Dexter McCluster Posted on July 10, 2018 by Justin Dunk // 8 Comments The Toronto Argonauts worked out American running back and returner Dexter McCluster on Tuesday. All signs point to the Argos signing the pint-sized playmaker. McCluster was a second-round pick, 36th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. The 29-year-old ran a 4.53 40-yard time, 4.06 short shuttle, 6.73 three-cone, 37.5-inch vertical and 20 reps on the bench press at the 2010 NFL Combine. He played seven seasons in the NFL for the Chiefs, Titans and Chargers rushing 250 times for 1,042 yards and two touchdowns, recording 236 receptions for 1,933 yards and seven touchdowns, returned 74 kickoffs for 1,554 yards, 133 punts for 1,388 yards and three touchdowns. 2013 was McCluster’s best year in the NFL when he earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as a returner after producing 686 punt return yards and two touchdowns. McCluster played collegiately at the University of Mississippi, he rushed for 1,169 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 44 balls for 520 yards and three touchdowns, totalling 1,689 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior for the Rebels, earning first-team All-SEC (Southeastern conference) honours. McCluster has been out of pro football since 2016 when he suffered a broken forearm while looking for his cellphone.
  12. AKA: a Bridge to Nowhere
  13. But the Bombers are the only team we rave and agonize over.
  14. There is no end of coaches who were beloved by players but could not produce. Players in the CFL are driven more by ego (need to win) than by money for the most part. If they see a coach hanging onto a player who cannot compete or a coach, for that matter, that will come out.
  15. And for pretty much the same reasons: questionable coaching and management. quarterbacking that is more theoretical than real, and low overall talent, although Montreal looks to have better NI players. Can't be too much fun to be a player or fan of either team these days, but Rider fans would rather have their fingernails pulled out slowly with hot tongs than admit it. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
  16. Do you think that a head coach who cannot bring himself to fire an incompetent subordinate coach will continue to have the respect of his other assistants or players?
  17. Disagree. If O'Shea does not have the gonads to do what has to be done if it comes to that, he disqualifies himself as a head coach.
  18. That's usually the way stalkers work.
  19. Give 'em Hecht!
  20. It does make me wonder once again how a talented athlete like Jennings who shone for two seasons could look so bad now. Oh well, if I knew that, I could write a book and make a lot of money.
  21. Wow. Stadium is near empty-I've seen more people at the BDI on a Saturday night.
  22. For all the hype, Gable has been invisible.
