  1. Well, that would explain a lot, but Trestman ought to have been able to anticipate that.
  2. I'm happy to see Augustine still hanging around and getting coached up, but Lankford, meh. If our scouts cannot do better than Lankford, they ought to voluntarily take a pay cut.
  3. Maybe God is trying to tell Ross to go do something other than football- croquet, for example.
  4. The wins are not going to get gifted to us. So long as Hall is directing the defence, we can expect the same outcomes. Even Weicek in the Freep is onto Hall now. Its like shooting fish in a barrel to criticize H, but that's all we have, and so long as O'Shea sees that the defence is "playing fine", nothing is going to change.
  5. I think that Streveler has to be careful in picking his times to sprint. Nichols has been pretty durable, but he hurt himself on a pretty innocuous play, and if Streveler goes down, we're really boned.
  6. I sure hope not. If the Bombers acquired Masoli, it would mean that Nichols is a lot more racked up than reported. Besides, would we have the cap space?
  7. With a lame duck QB, how can you tell?
  8. Being as how they are playing in Montreal, shouldn't they change their names to "Eastermen"? Or would that have objectionable religious overtones?
  9. What the heck happened to Ross? A bruised ego?
  10. I think that the only drama might be the betting on when Collaros and/or Bridge will be pulled. Or which will be carted off the field.
  11. To be fair, several so-so quarterbacks have had their way with Hall's defence.
  12. While it is just one game and the first of the season at that, there is reason for optimism. We lost to Reilly- probably the best QB in the league, but the secondary play was the spitting image of what we have been witnessing since Hall's arrival. The first TD of the Esks was a perfect toss to a very good receiver coupled with a stumble by Randle. That was just one play, but there were other plays that a good secondary just doesn't give up all game. The 408 passing yards given up were the same old, same old. Bighill is at least as good as he was supposed to be, our receivers were good and Streveler had a GREAT debut. He's just going to get better and better- a younger, bigger, stronger version of Dunigan.
  13. Why can't it be both?
  14. Maybe we need a thread about whether we need a thread about needing a lot of threads.
  15. Those day-release programs are still in effect where you live?
  16. A Bomber win would be intoxicating, but all valuable experience comes at a price, so lets hope for the best but not slash up if things do not go well.
  17. McMahon is a lot like Trump in that he is good at selling the sizzle but very bad at delivering the promised cake.
  18. West Edmonton 13-5 Calgary 12-6 Winnipeg 11-7 Saskatchewan 6-12 BC 7-11 East Toronto 11-7 Hamilton 9-9 Ottawa 8-10 Montreal 4-14
  19. At some point in a career, athletes, coaches and GMs lose the fire in their bellies. The smart ones ease themselves out the door, the dumber ones hang on until they get turfed, and we will see which Wally is.
  20. Not as nervous as Collaros. He will have to be heavily sedated before, during and after the game.
  21. They have their own example in Josiah St.John who was drafter high but has resided on the injury list pretty much from Day One.
  22. Try to remember that you are addressing your comments to Rider fans. so use small words and assume nothing.
  23. There damned well better be. Hall will merit a game or two because of the changes in the defensive personnel, but that's it.
  24. Sounds like the real deal. There is an indefinable something about some quarterbacks that oozes "I am going to win". Streveler also appears to have all the physical tools as well as the smarts to be an A-grade quarterback in this league. The only nit-pick that was in the article was that he can let his aggressiveness dictate his play too much when he will force the running play for an extra yard or two and might even extend into trying to force the ball into tight coverage instead of taking what he can get or throwing the ball away. We don't want him to sacrifice himself as Dunigan was wont to do and get injured for an extra two yards.
