A really great read. Wolitarsky comes across as humble and grateful for the chance to play a game he loves. He does look a lot like Matthew McConaghy is the movie "Reign of Fire", though.

O'Shea is being cryptic about Santos-Knox's availability. He apparently did not practice yesterday but O'Shea said he might do so today, so the "faint hope" clause is in effect. -
Movin' on to take on the Calgary Stampeders!!!!

There is always room for improvement, but the Riders have had excellent return teams all year and the Bombers did reasonably well. I cannot see that Calgary's special teams are better. -

Agreed. I cannot see the Bombers doing anything different than what got them here. -

Calgary is not the team of the past few years. Their O-line and D-line are both suspect as is the rest of the team to a lesser extent. As far as the Stamps being favoured, so were the Riders last Sunday. I say the Bombers should go right at them and not be intimidated. -

But what of Santos-Knox? -
With the AAF set to raid the CFL, the league will have a hard time signing good import talent. This would be a bad time for expansion but if all teams are crappy, it would average out in competitiveness, I guess.

When I peeked yesterday at that thread, there were damned few congratulations and a lot of hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth.

Sorry, but he was assuming Saskatchewan "mating" rituals or lack thereof.
-
That was a mouthful.

Ripper, I agree with you to an extent. That was a very hard hit, but in re-watching it with the available video from TSN, it was not at all certain that it was a deliberate head shot. It may have been, but the available evidence does not confirm that. I am against "intent to injure" but football is a violent sport and sometimes it is hard to differentiate between intentional and accidental. If there is a deliberate head shot, then the offender should be tossed, fined and suspended.

Wild may be very fit and experienced but he is a good player. However Santos-Knox has been little short of great this year playing beside Mr. Grandmont. Doubtless, Jovan has learned a lot and would be missed if he does not play against Cowgary.
-
Ian Wild did not look all that good when he was in. He and Sayles were targeted and victimized. Here's hoping that Santos-Knox will be back for next Sunday.

You're welcome, Scorch, but expect verbal abuse and questioning your parentage, intellect, and sexual preferences starting tomorrow.
-
Lions playing as if they expect to lose.
-
I would bet Wally will be retained as a consultant of sorts.
-
Things not going well for the Lions in this cat fight.
-
This could get ugly real fast.

How the heck are the Riders with a gibbled up quarterback and no decent backup favoured by 2.5 points??
-
Win or lose, I am hoping for a game that will be talked about for time to come as a classic take-no-prisoners game. Bragging rights for the next 7 months are on the line. Go Big Blue! A blowout of the Risers would not be a classic game, but I'll take it.

Any games subsequent to a Bomber win tomorrow will seem anti-climactic. Even the Grey Cup game.
