  1. True enough, but the Bombers were totally caught with their pants down- utterly clueless on that play. Unacceptable for a coach who was a special teams guru.
  2. To thrash a deceased equine, this team cannot give up all those yards again and again and expect the offense to put up 40+ points every game to bail them out and/or rely on timely turnovers. Its not sustainable and Hamilton coaches exploited the Bomber vulnerabilities perfectly. Now that the recipe for beating the Bombers is out there, we are gonna see a lot more of that. Masoli is not a great quarterback and their re-tread running back is not al all-star but the Bomber defence sure made them look like it.
  3. Lankford is still here for several credible reasons: he is or maybe was very fast at least in a straight line, he can punt and I seem to recall that he can play some quarterback. Still, overall he has not contributed much lately.
  4. It must be wonderful for Jones to not have to worry about either league rules or a salary cap. Makes life as a head coach/GM so much easier.
  5. You are not alone in your puzzlement, but there's always stuff going on behind the scenes we don't hear about for months/years if ever.
  6. Trestman's record says that he will straighten that out. Missing two starting linebackers is a major liability.
  7. Argos showing signs of life but Holley scores.
  8. I sure hope that O'Shea was livid at the way Hamilton sucked them in on that on-side gadget play. IRC, there were no less than three on side TiCats on that play, so it ought to have been obvious to the special trams coach that the game was afoot.
  9. Not a good way to limp into the playoffs- losing three of your last 5 games.
  10. You forgot to include "surely".
  11. Are the zebras getting worse? My senility may be getting worse, but either the TV replays are pointing out stuff we missed before or there is getting to be really some CNIB calls.
  12. Just tuned in to the game- Bridge is doing a decent imitation of a CFL quarterback.
  13. I did something like that to my nail a couple of times. It hurts like heck but does not affect grip and can probably be anesthetized without too much ado. I expect that Nichols will be on deck next weekend., but that nail is going to throb like you wouldn't believe.
  14. I don't know about Davis' alleged lack of arm strength. He made a couple of deep tosses which had pretty good trajectory and velocity that weren't too far off.
  15. Poop played, and I believe that Nevis was benched.
  16. Trust has to continually earned. Even the Stamps have lost a couple of games this year, but even in their losses, they were competitive. Last night the Bombers looked as bad as they looked at any time in the past two years.
  17. Many were chortling at the plight of the TiCats before the game, and frankly, I didn't see them any better or worse than Toronto or BC. Last night should have been a "gimme" but wasn't. If we can't put the boots to the TiCats, why should we be confident about any of our next four games?
  18. Lets not panic excessively. It was only one game, but the liabilities that have been evident for some time (mostly on defence) finally cost the Bombers. It would be refreshing to hear a frank evaluation by O'Shea of the putrid effort on both sides of the ball and what he sees that needs to change if the Bombers want to challenge the Stamps.
  19. I wouldn't give up on Davis because of his performance last night. Darned few Bombers looked good enough to play in this league. Hall, on the other hand....
  20. O'Shea has said he expects Hurl to be a speed bump, but I'm pretty sure he is not succeeding at that, either.
  21. Both were equally useless.
  22. Agreed. If its not talent (apart from Hurl) what the heck is it?
  23. That was pretty close to a mercy for them.
  24. Wolitarsky caught a good pass but fluffed two others. Lankford was screwed but I don't think he would have gotten any further anyways.
  25. The time bomb in the Bomber team finally detonated. The D-line which was supposed to be a major improvement over last year and provide the pressure on opposing QB's to force them into either hurry their throws or get sacked has been mediocre at best and was really exposed as such last night. The Bomber O-line was not good at all and Hurl played like he usually does, only Hamilton went right at the MLB position. I didn't realize it until it was mentioned in the telecast, but Loffler is the Bomber leading tackler. This would mean that a) we are not getting to the opposing QB and our linebacking collectively sucks. Santos-Knox and Leggett are good, and that points out how utterly terrible Hurl and Knox are. If a rookie CFL head coach like June Jones can diddle the Bombers like this, imagine what Calgary with good coaching and talent will do to the Bombers.
