  1. That would be my guess. Ricky Ray is about done, at least as a starter, and if he is either gone or relegated to back-up, that will free up a lot of money for Collaros, who is going to have to lower his expectations, at least for a year. However, if Wally is out on BC, who knows what the new brain trust will want or do? Montreal is a disaster in slow motion, so who does that leave?
  2. Maybe we could bring in Roseanne Barr. She was certainly memorable in her anthem rendition and doesn't seem to be doing much these days.
  3. Any decent quarterback would have to be either insane or heavily medicated to want to sign on in Montreal for next season unless there are major changes in the overall talent level, coaching and general manager's positions. Money is nice, but having your career derailed by being beaten up due to a horrid O-line, poor receivers and/or incompetent coaches are a good way to end your career. Ask Buck Pierce, Darian Durant, etc etc.
  4. We've paid our dues and had enough of losing. Grind the Esks right into the Astroturf- no mercy.
  5. People often obsess about what they lack.
  6. Sorry- was referring to Mr. Brown and got confusicated.
  7. But Jesus loves you....
  8. Back in the 80's-90's when the salary cap was a gentleman's agreement, the Esks spent like sailors on shore leave and bought up all the best players because they could due to being the most financially viable team in the league. It got to the point where they actually paid the travel expenses of teams so they could afford to come to play at the Grey Cup a couple of times.
  9. I am beginning to wonder if Jones is feeling heat to produce results after the circus he has been ringmaster over for the past while. Desperation makes for poor decisions.
  10. If anyone is still labouring under the delusion that the Riders, much like the Eskimos of previous years are even pretending to respect the salary cap, this ought to wake them up.
  11. Are Homer and Lisa looking at Homer's groin? Creepy.
  12. The problem I foresee is his increasing brittleness and rehab times. If hope that Dressler has the smarts to retire while he can still walk without pain, and I also hope that he will be suitably honored at a home game. If it wasn't for him, I don't think the Bombers would have made the playoffs last year.
  13. Is you automatically assume that Riders fans are full of BS, you are halfway home.
  14. Good on Matt Nichols! Finally starting to get recognition.
  15. I was there when it happened- it was an ugly break and as soon as it happened, the whole crowd knew he was done.
  16. Zavian looks like the complete package- good hands, reads blocking very, very well, adequate speed and gets open a lot. Good size, too. Now all we need to establish is his smarts and durability.
  17. A gathering of Rogues?
  18. Are you sure the last name begins with an "O"?
  19. Blasphemy to suggest otherwise.
  20. Not fair for the Rider organization to put the Stamps downwind of the Rider locker room.
  21. Well, that ought to raise the average provincial IQ by a couple of points.
  22. Gotta pressure Reilly. He's taken quite a beating so far this year and must be close to shattering in confidence if not body. It looks like the combination of Leggett and Santos-Knox might be enough on the outside to contain Reilly. Go get him.
  23. I would think that a tenured position at a sewage effluent plant would be a better fit and not much of a change from his current position and personality.
  24. I'm not su I'm not sure that will be enough. To me, the offense looks like it is short one receiver of the ability Dressler had last year, and our linebacking is sub-par, although Santos-Knox has played well in the past game or two. Its difficult to pick out a weakness in Calgary's lineup.
  25. If the Riders are not 6 and 7, I apologize. Edit: Checked the standings and you are correct. They still suck, though.
