Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

We all make mistakes, but standing by or covering up while deliberate harm comes to a vulnerable person is at least as vile as the act of harming. -

No one apart from a Canadian citizen "has the right" to enter Canada- anyone else can be barred just because of the colour of their shoelaces. Anyone who participates directly or indirectly in a rape or condones it through silence is equally complicit. If there is a Hell, I hope there is a spot reserved for these monsters. -
In Saskatchewan, both of them could be the same person.

Thanks BnG for the summary- a lot of work. What on Earth were Austin and Tillman smoking when they came up with this? -
No, but by the grace of God, and to the surprise of almost everyone, Glenn has managed to imitate a legit CFL quarterback and give a degree of respectability to the Riders, but who knows how long this will last?

And yet, I heard the stat that they have given up the second most QB sacks/ WTF? -
I don't know how Hall is going to keep his job after two consecutive years of a dreadful defensive performances.

We can only hope that either our new commissioner or the Ticat owner will put the kibosh on this insanity. We don't need to be know as "the Perp league". -
Well, there's a lot of bull here on occasion, if that's any comfort.

That still doesn't explain why we have him inflicted on us so often. Does he work for minimum wage or something?

Gotta give Ripper credit for stirring up poop on this forum. The Rider secondary is very good as is their D-line, but their linebacking is questionable, so Harris and Flanders ought to do well. I do not think the Rider O-line is anywhere good enough to save Glenn's bacon and no matter how good their receivers are, if Glenn is hurried and/or sacked, historically he gets rattled. That said, he has taken some hits that would have rattled his molars and still functioned, so we have to get to him early and often.

It's more like Hell's latrine.

They look like it, but Reilly is not himself tonight

Some really sloppy tacking by the Esks.

Given that this is Saskatchewan, shouldn't that be "witless protection program?"
-
Of course its debatable. In the same way that believing that the Earth is round is debatable.

The problem with your analysis is that defending against the run up the middle has been one of our consistent problems. A stocky run-stopper in the middle would be a Good Thing.

I'm Jonesing already. -
Did that for the kids when they were young and the Dr. Seuss (who feared kids, BTW) books were popular. The kids were icked at first sight but the vegetable dye didn't affect the taste, so they laughed at it and their own reactions.

Flying High into Montréal: Bombers vs. Als

Hurl would not be missed all that much. We could just put up one of those yellow signs you see on wet floors in commercial buildings and it would serve equally well. The opposing running backs could trip over that. -

Watching the backfields in motion would be entertaining. -
The best, most durable MLB's tend to be built like refrigerators with arms- six feet or so and 220 pounds. Loffler is taller than that. He's built like Leo Ezerins who was a pretty good linebacker but an outside one.
