Around the League - Training Camp Discussion
Tracker replied to sweep the leg's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Should Richie Hall get the bullet, he will not be alone. There have been concerns about Hall both here and in the media for a couple of years now, and O'Shea has kept him on. There is no doubt about O'Shea's character or passion, but his judgement- not so much. -

Both teams looked scary good on offence, even with their B teams. Walters and O'Shea have their work cut out. -
3 stars plus HH first preseason game edition

Hard to know what to take away from the game, what with having only the radio broadcast, plus it being a pre-season game and all. It does sound like Davis and LeFevour are viable options if Nichols struggles or is injured. The D-line and O-lines sound solid already, the receivers are still work in progress, and the D-backs are, um, questionable at the moment. However, the point of the game was to audition players and a thorough thumping of the Riders would have been icing on the cake. -
The highest bid may not be the best option. If, as others here have posed, the Bombers get buried under NHL and MLB coverage, that would cost the Bombers in their profile in the community. If Bob Irving does not want to be part of the package, that would be doubly bad.

Appreciate what you have before it turns into what you had. -
Yup. I keep hoping for another Russ Jackson, but the deck seems to be stacked against homegrown pivots. I would love to see a position reserved for NI quarterbacks that did not count against the roster or salary cap so as to give time for development.

Same plan. Rinse and repeat.

Thank you, but it was 20 years ago this month, I have learned to live with the presence of her absence. -

Having lost a wife to cancer, I can vouch that no matter what kind of job you have, your head is not going to be in it, even if you do not have 300 lb people trying to murderize you. -
Because Bennett is relatively new to the CFL, I would think that the Bomber game plan would be to blitz him early and often, so a hurry would be as good as a sack.

Actually, if you scroll through the postings about Bennett leaving, I believe that you will see that there was regret over his departure (plus some venom) as there was a consensus that the potential was there. -
One of the knocks on Dieter was that he was as smart as the average fern, but in the interviews, Harry Knight came across as quite bright. Plus he had a killer 'stache.

Ripper, as a fan, you are probably looking through rose-coloured glasses. Bennett showed promise when here, but promise is like a cheque- you don't know how good it is until you try to cash it in. I have been a fan of Durant but do not recall him having a noodle arm. -
Fixed that for you.

2000 people at the game? They get more than that at an accident on the Malton Expressway.
-
It took us a while to sort out the traffic issues around the new Bomber playpen, so do not expect a quick fix.
-
Your new stadium is beautiful despite all the jokes about it resembling a porcelain fixture and is so much better than the old Taylor/Mosaic Field, but it will take time to develop character and attachment. We will settle for beating up Bennett and Bridge.
-
Come on now. This is a whole new level of competition for Ekakitie, so it may take a game or two for him to get used to things. If he pancakes Bennett, that would be a good ego-boo for him.
-
The injury report did not mention Young's badly bruised ego.
-
Fewer than Glenn after the first hit.
-
I will settle for 6-10 sacks on Glenn or whomever the Riders put out there.

Me too. I thought he would have drawn at least a third rounder from the Bombers with the departure of Waggoner. Ah well, if he becomes a good player with the Greenies, I will be urinated. -
There's no rehab for stupidity, and talent alone isn't gonna save your butt.
-
But if he was female, would he have to change his name?

We'd probably have to outbid Chris Jones.
