  1. Lets hope the choice is not a Foketi up.
  2. And if you do not think you are among the best, then you probably aren't. Egos drive success, like it or not.
  3. Hard to argue that Burris is not a very good player, but he has either been a victim of fate or he just doesn't have that something which makes him a great one.
  4. Doesn't it come down to who is the second-best QB on the roster? Willy's stock has fallen dramatically but O'Shea being who he is, I cannot see him voluntarily letting Willy go. It may not be his decision, though and Walters may see a much better use for the remainder of his $400,000 to strengthen the team- to sign Muamba for instance. Willy has had his chance to claim the starter's role and has failed. Maybe Davis or Bennett is no worse or close to being as good.
  5. Ottawa is the best-balanced, best coached team in the league with darned few weaknesses. Big edge to the RedBlacks.
  6. But its also what many of the realists here said after the game. It was an exhilarating, desperately needed win, but not without its flaws, and darned few winning teams can say that they played a flawless game which needed no improvements anywhere. I hope that neither the players nor the coaches think they can rest on their laurels. Tomorrow is another day and another game is looming.
  7. By no means are we assured of making the playoffs and so long as we get darned close to it without being blown out every second game, I can live with that. Solidifying the quarterback position is the priority, and I still am not confident O'Shea is the right coach.
  8. Wally must be ready to give his first-born for a good kicker by now.
  9. Whats a decimal point between friends?
  10. Unless that sort of "lets play safe" attitude comes back to bite them in the butt against a better team.
  11. Beastly Lions look to be a good team but weirdly inconsistent.
  12. This is codespeak for "arrogant anal aperture".
  13. Not good, but we don't know how severe. Could be season-ending.
  14. Yes, the second half was not as dominant as we would have liked, but no doubt Steinauer's defence got tuned up at half-time. There is still plenty of reason for optimism against Toronto- Nichols will be more familiar with his receivers, the d-backs will have gotten more in sync, and with a bit of luck, Hardrick will be back. Toronto is well-coached with good players but not unbeatable.
  15. Most, if not all of us were ecstatic when Willy signed and played his first 6 games, but he has not come close to equaling those performances since, even when healthy. By the mid-point of last season, there were a lot of concerns about Willy's mental toughness, and those concerns resurfaced this year. I do not wish ill for him, but its as simple as this: he is not what the team needs and the team and most fans have known this for a while. He might do better in Hamilton instead of Masoli and maybe Kent Austin has the time and patience to spoon-feed him.
  16. Nah. A spinnaker is one of those K-tel thingies for drying your salad.
  17. There seems to be almost unanimous agreement that Willy has dropped to the backup role, and at 400K per year, that is untenable. Nichols appears to have a command of the team in a way we haven't seen since 2014, so the question is: do either Davis or Bennett have the stuff to go in on short notice and be competitive if Willy gets sent on his way?
  18. Not to discount the Bomber performance, but it was a little disconcerting to see the offense letting up in the second half even though they were still playing all the starters. It would have been good to see Richards, Lochard and maybe even Davis or Bennett getting game reps in at least the last bit of the 4th quarter.
  19. Go Bombers and win two in a row for the first time in two freaking years!
  20. Actually, you do not. There's a form of enhanced ID you can get. There's more than a bit of paranoia going on in the US these days, that is, more than usual. As surprising number of Americans still think the 911 attackers came through Canada.
  21. This game is going to be a much stiffer test than the last for the Bombers. If Masoli plays like he did in the last game, the secondary is going to have to be at their best. Fortunately, the O-line is still intact from the last game.
  22. My opinion exactly. I always thought Elliott got frustrated with nickel-and-dime offense when the Bombers were behind and sinking quickly late in the game and decided to gamble in defiance of the pathetic play calling by an inept offensive coordinator. Elliott had to know he was signing his death warrant but he cared enough to give it a shot.
  23. Southern Alberta, the USA- pretty much the same thing.
  24. But they enjoyed every minute of it.
