It doesn't involve peanut butter, a spatula, Barry White and a safety word?

And here I thought his mother came up for a wicked weekend- just long enough for a few drinks and a one-night stand. -

I have never really accepted Cahoon as a legit Canuck as he got in under a technicality. He was good, though and kudos to Popp and Co. for finding him. -

We have a whack of LBs on hand for some reason, and maybe Knox is the answer at MLB, but Bass still hasn't convinced me he is the answer. We could always use a dominant DE despite Green being given the job. I've given up on waiting for a really, really good young QB prospect. -

We still need a burner receiver and a solid MLB. We might have these on hand but who knows? Maybe we will have some answers by this time tomorrow. -
If the #3 and #4 quarterbacks have shown little in practices, then yes, they do have to be replaced. Pretty much every QB starting in the CFL had to work his way up. Some were fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to advance rapidly, but those are few.
-
If we cannot replace him with a measurably better one and soon, that means our scouting/recruiting is bad.
-
Richards has proven nothing so far, except that he is either brittle or snake-bit. There is a rule that if you cannot make the starting team in three years, you are never going to, so time to move on.

We need to keep our expectations for this game reasonable. Adams and Dressler were not only very good last game, they were in sync with Nichols. Not likely that the newbies will have that same familiarity with Nichols, so our passing game is very apt to suffer. Gotta pound the rock and play the possession game.
-
We have a decent shot against Hamilton and that's all the team can ask. Collaros is still down and it looks like a few of the missing pieces on defence have been found. Bond has glued the O-line together and all Nichols needs to do is manage the offense like he did against the Esks.
-
And yet I do not recall Green overpowering anyone or sprinting past them to nail the QB.
-
Frederick was amazingly good and Loffler showed all kinds of good things. Next game will give us a better read and if Collaros was starting for Hamilton, that would have been a real test.

The numbers for Willy do not lie, and simply confirm what most here have been saying for some time. Overall, this forum has fingered many poor players long before they were moved out or replaced, so why has it taken the people who are entrusted to run the team so long? If O'Shea has been choosing who plays and who does not, who stays and who goes, most of this has to be at his feet. Walters and his scouting staff are supposed to find good players, so they are not blameless, either.

Medlock is certainly no worse than Hajrullahu at his best, but is not a homeboy. Doesn't seem to be an improvement, but whose decision was it to cut Hajrullahu? -
Another puzzling decision. Hubbard looked like a player and didn't take any stupid penalties. Green has not been effective plus his brain cramps,

I would like to see Bridge here for a tryout. After all, we are River City. -
Good stuff, again.

A non-import starter is valuable enough that he should be given every possible chance, and I would have preferred to have him come to camp and compete for the job. As it is, we got nothing for him, and I would still like to know why the Argos were able to help him correct his game and the Bombers couldn't. -
Besides, Goveia and McManus have to be exhausted by their intensive search for the Next Great Bomber QB.

Re: the Ottawa-Toronto game: The game was rather dull until the second half but was played by the two best-coached teams in the league and worth watching for that reason alone. Hajrullahu has reclaimed his career and his release has to be another black mark against the current regime's ability to assess talent properly. Medlock is as good as advertised, but he is an import, and an expensive one at that. How could Toronto coach Hajrullahu out of his funk and the Bomber coaches could not? Coombs is being wasted in Toronto, and Toronto and Ottawa have to have the two best sets of receivers in the league. And Kilgore has bumped Willy even further down the QB ratings. Burris looked way more rusty than he ought to have. -
Denmark will not look bad, but he is not likely to win any games for you, either.
-
Not exactly what I had in mind for "qualifying " the statement.
-
Ummmm...you may want to qualify that statement.
-
I can, but will he able to beat out the other options?
-
That is the big question for the 2016 Bombers, and a very real possibility. Nichols may work as a stopgap measure but we have little reason to hope that he can be the starting quarterback of the next few years. It would be great if he could carry the team for the next 2-3 years while a younger pivot is groomed, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it just yet. The next questions are: do either Davis or Bennett fit the description, and if not, can Walters be trusted enough to find the right quarterback?
