  1. The obvious answer lies in post-game film review by the league. If an illegal hit is missed but identified later, the penalties would kick in, and if an illegal hit sidelines a player, the offender gets suspended as long as the victim.
  2. Walters is definitely on the hot seat. I am not convinced the Bomber woes are all lack of talent, but a good deal the result of poor coaching. If Walters swings from the gibbet, it will be as a result of his decision to retain O'Shea in the face of a lot of evidence that O'Shea is in over his head.
  3. And maybe not even then.
  4. Isn't this information rubbing salt into the wounds?
  5. Dirty, rotten Bastien.
  6. There doesn't seem to be too many Bombers who are standouts....
  7. No! We need continuity, dammit!
  8. Can't argue much with your comments. Many were assuming that the Riders were going to be bottom-feeders this season and thus save the Bombers from that disgrace, and this was due in no small part to Chris Jones' abrasive personality. Gale looked like yet another promising QB that the Bombers passed on, but the jury is still out on him. At this point it looks like first place in the next draft will go to whomever has the worst quarterback this season. Toss-up.
  9. No matter how ingenious an offensive plan is or how good the offensive coordinator is, it all comes down to the guy behind center. What you have seen is what we have. Period.
  10. I don't know if this statement by O'Shea was for Willy's benefit, but if it is an unsolicited vote of confidence for him, it must have provoked the sound of slapping of faces all over Winnipeg. It would seem that O'Shea has firmly tied his fate to Willy.
  11. I'm not sure we have tons of talent but I do think we have enough to be a .500 team and compete for a playoff spot with one caveat: our quarterbacking.
  12. More deck chairs being re-arranged on the Titanic, but they had to do something, I suppose.
  13. Okay, maybe this will fix everything.
  14. And yet their backup quarterback looked way better than our number one, and the Riders were in the game right to the end. Those who have been longing for Durant, behold his brittleness. He's not the answer, either.
  15. If it comes down to Miller or Walters having to order O'Shea to bench Willy, then for sure we need a new head coach, and as soon as a temporary replacement can be found.
  16. So 2017 will be a better year for Willy and the Bombers?
  17. Because healthy crap is so much better than the unhealthy kind. Excuses have all expired.
  18. Does it really matter why Willy's performance has faded? Presumably, if it was fixable, it would have been fixed by now, so lets give him one more outing as a starter and if he does not improve a lot, lets see if the bull-pen is any good. Maybe one of them can be better than a .35 pivot.
  19. I think it is almost inevitable that O'Shea will be fired and sooner rather than later. He appears to have that dead man walking, "don't know how to fix this" attitude and he can't be having much fun these days. I saw it in Burke, Daley and Reinbold to name a few.
  20. Burris might be the answer for one, perhaps two years, but then what? The last quarterback the Bombers found who was decent was Danny Mac, and that was a long time ago. In the meantime, other teams found good ones.
  21. The defining word being "current". When they have their #1 quarterbacks in harness, they are much, much better but when our #1 quarterback takes the field, we're not.
  22. Bringing O'Shea back looks to be one of the big mistakes that will cost Walters his job in the not too distant future- along with the bloated contract to Willy.
  23. And his favourite dessert: Almond Bruce
  24. FWIW, on 1290 it was stated that O'Shea decides who starts at QB. Another nail hammered into the coffin.
  25. So, you're saying that the team is not under-performing?????
