  1. It will come down to how many more embarrassments Walters and Miller are prepared to tolerate. O'Shea does not seem to embarrass easily. I'm guessing four games- six games max.
  2. Ed Tait's post-mortem article in the Freep today was similarly pessimistic and scathing. O'Shea has few friends left apart from the players and coaches he has shielded.
  3. If O'Shea is still an "inexperienced" head coach after three seasons, he is unable to learn from experience. O'Shea's problem is an inability to assess talent in either players or subordinate coaches. He is also apparently unable to adapt due to stubbornness. Neither trait contributes to coaching success or longevity, and it may well doom Walters as well.
  4. As much as it pains me to admit it, the team cannot fire O'Shea without a viable replacement, but the sooner that rotten tooth is pulled, the better. If Miller and Walters have a better choice as head coach, lets euthanize O'Shea ASAP.
  5. So why this disaster on defence?
  6. I think there ought to be a caveat-"except at quarterback"
  7. With that thought in my head, its going to mean a couple more years of therapy.
  8. Could it be that the coaches have no confidence that the players can execute the high-risk/high-reward plays?
  9. Ironic, isn't it? Most here at the beginning of the season saw Macho Harris as a stopgap player and a weak link, but he, Wild and Randle have been earning their paycheques. The rest of the defence......
  10. It all has to come down to leadership. If the players have lost confidence in the coach(es), then they default assumption is that a loss is inevitable. Willy is not doing well, and he may or may not be fixable, but letting him go out onto the field again and again when he is obviously struggling instead of putting Nichols or whomever out is all on the coaching. Willy does not seem to have the command presence to instill confidence in the team this year, and maybe he has lost it forever. He wouldn't be the first.
  11. When the whole team takes a collective dump as they have over and over again in the past few years, it has to be the coaching. The whole team played last night as if they expected to lose, and they did.
  12. How could he have been overlooked in the CFL draft?
  13. 20-20 hindsight is always perfect, but in retrospect it was almost certainly a mistake to hire both a rookie head coach and a rookie GM to turn a troubled franchise with a record of embarrassing performances.
  14. I have been questioning O'Shea's leadership and judgement for some time and have been thinking that Walters deserves another kick at the can, but he has let O'Shea go way too long without tangible improvement. It may be time to clean house. We need to know if the players are as bad as they look to be or if the coaching is the problem.

  16. And that points to.......?
  17. Letting the clock run out may have been the Bomber equivalent of mercy. But they retreated to the locker room, regrouped and came out with fire in their eyes. Right? Right?
  18. Best stadium in the league.
  19. Sorry, but Willy has worn out his welcome here and has probably lost the confidence of fan sand the team. Nichols may not be the Messiah, but what have we to lose by inserting him? We have been humiliated in two straight games and if nothing changes, then nothing changes.
  20. We fans have every right to complain. We watch the games, buy the merchandise and follow the team with our hearts for decades. We have been betrayed once again by those who are in charge, and when we no longer care enough to get angry, the team is in real trouble.
  21. I don't think that the personnel on the O-line are as bad as the stats indicate- they cannot seem to adjust to the play- and appears to be the character of the whole freaking team. Gotta be coaching and I think is going to be the end of more than one coaching career.
  22. Who could a lesser version of Willy be? Don Knotts?
  23. All the more reason for urgency in the Bomber game plan. The Riders actually looked respectable last night even if they lost, so the assumption that they will keep the Bombers out of the basement may be faulty.
