No question that BC is beatable, and if the Bombers win convincingly, it would be a great confidence-builder for meeting the Stamps. The key might be forcing BC into a turnover early.

Mr. Popp certainly made his departure memorable. -

Ugh. Might as well use your left hand and a bowl of water. Are you a fan of thong-style Depends? -

Is lapolice the weak link in our offense?

I could learn to live with that. -

I voted to replace LaPolice, but there is a caveat. I don't know if there is or will be a better option out there, so we may be stuck no matter what we want. Secondly, there is good evidence that Nichols is much more effective in a dink-and-dunk offense than a bombs-away one. We really do not know how the team would have looked with a QB who has an arm like Burris or Jennings, and therefore the offensive numbers may not represent LaPolice's best. -
No question the Esks will be favoured, but if Collaros is "on", Edmonton's secondary is very suspect, so I would not rule out an upset. What is a "big crowd" for the BC Lions? more than a dozen?

Did you bring enough of your stuff for everyone?

That is exactly why I fear meeting BC in the WSF- our deep pass coverage is very suspect and BC's passing game is downright scary.

Probably not. The gross over-spending was all on Popp and that is going to cripple the organization for a while to come. -
Andrew Harris Snubbed, Dressler Not!

Ooooh! Ooooh! Sexist comment!!1 -
After some 50 years of following my team, that is not an option. If you think I would be sad if O'Shea is re-signed, next year may well be a sad time for the whole team and fans. I would be perfectly happy to be proven wrong.

That statement apparently came from the CFL head office -
I don't foresee a lineup to sign Nichols as a starter. He is a good QB who can steer a very good team to success but not carry a mediocre one on his shoulders.

Ottawa would be fools to let Harris go at this point in favour of a relatively unknown Franklin. Besides, it has been definitively stated that Franklin in under contract for 2017. -
There is no price too high.

Lions have tried to fumble the game away but the Riders weren't having any of that. Jones is still an anal aperture, though. And their uniforms have set new standards for ugly- except for the helmets. They're Ok.
-
Mitchell Gale showing a very strong arm and a good touch. Too bad his receivers are terrible. With Johnson out of the game, the Riders could give the Beastly Lions a game. Well,,,,not really.

A few days ago I posted that O'Shea's pig-headedness would mean that Nichols would not be pulled until a minute or two was left in the game and my tongue-in-cheek comment proved to be true and almost disastrous. If O'Shea has not figured out these very basic team management skills, he is probably not the head coach we need. Even more sadly, I expect him to be re-signed.

With Ottawa fielding what is essentially a practice squad team, the Bombers need to lay a hurtin' on them. Anything less would be the same as a loss.
-
As I see it (and this should not be mistaken for gospel), we are fairly close to being competitive but we need a top-grade Canuck receiver (like Fantuz) but it appears that our greatest questions lie at the feet of our coaches.

Bombers have to show up tonight, no matter who gets put on the field. That stinkeroo last game has to be wiped out of the minds of the players and fans. Where the Bombers start the playoffs is irrelevant by comparison. The team performance last game was so sickeningly similar to the way the Bombers played for most of last two years and to start the season that they need to impress the fans that it was a collective brain cramp and not their real selves.
-
Should the Bombers win tonight it will mark the first time in the CFL where every eastern team is below .500. Trying to predict the outcome or even how the game will be played is a complete crapshoot with all the players being out. Its like trying to guess the outcome of a preseason game.

This is sad. Sounds like a decent guy and a potentially good player in this league. The odds of Popp surviving this mess are dropping. -
Now you've taken all the fun out of it. I'll be over in the corner crying. My mother never protected me.
