Westerman is our only hope, and ought to win.

A good example of the Peter Principle at work.

Considering all the uncertainty for next year, these moves are all about rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, to use a cliche. I'm going to watch the game anyways, just to see if any of the inserts show promise.

MOS was a great national player himself and it's starting to become clear that he has a chip on his shoulder when it comes to playing nationals and proving they can do they job. In principle, I would agree with O'Shea that if its close, we ought to start an IN over an import, but there seems to be a huge gap in talent in a few positions such as MLB that have really hurt us and probably disheartened the team to boot. As great a player as O'Shea was, he seems to be unable to adapt according to evidence even when there is ample proof that change is needed. Etch and Bellefeuille are two glaring examples.

what would our record be if Willy hadn't been injured?
Tracker replied to Nolby's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
With Willy at the helm, we would have been better, but probably not a whole bunch. That said, with the Riders, BC and Montreal sucking as bad as they have this year, we likely would have made it into the playoffs only to be dismantled. The loss of Willy was bad, there are a lot of problems on this team apart from even Bellefeuille. -
You're being too hard on yourself. :-) Thanks but it was a cruel thing to do. Not one of my better moments. Pretty disrespectful to one of the NHL's all time great players of the first half of the 20th century & in the HHOF. But that's life. I learned from it. As my 29 year old son used to say when he was 10... "What a dumb kid!!" The only people who believe they have not done or said something stupid and/or hurtful in their younger years are those who are into massive self-deception. Welcome to a very large club, and you do not have to be two sheets to the wind to qualify.

The Jay's ex- GM made it very clear that he decided to bail when Shapiro stepped right past him to meddle in the GM business. Yea and its a known situation in MLB that having a hands on president is far more common then getting the treatment AA had under Beeston. Toronto gave their gm a ton of leeway, he will be hard pressed to find it again. Also, you seemed to have glossed over the fact that the interim GM was already a Bluejay and would have given his nod of approval to keep Gibbons I would assume. I think you have the timeline wrong. Shapiro went ahead and renewed Gibbons`contract which led to AA tendering his resignation. If you apply that behaviour to the Bombers, then it would be like Miller renewing O`Shea`s contract without consulting Walters, which would put Walters in an untenable position.

That says more about the quality of our receiving corps behind Moore than a compliment to Moore.

This is the thing people don't seem to understand. He's the head coach. He's responsible for everything that happens on the field. To me, excusing the head coach cause the assistant he stuck with isn't very good... makes no sense. Do a better job of picking your staff, it's part of what you're supposed to be able to do. Isn't it? If Mike is given more time I will be astounded. You may want to be sitting down before taking in Bomber announcements for a while.

Khari is a good guy, bright and personable with a lot of good karma here in the 'Peg, but so did Kelly. Management is running out of chances to regain the trust and enthusiasm of the fans, so they better spread the search far and wide.

Because that worked so well with LaPolice. Lord, this mess keeps getting worse and worse.

Why would the redblacks want any of our FAs? They bought all the good ones up in the last two seasons.. They wanted to pass, rather than pick from us in the expansion draft, or don't you recall that running joke? Yea I remember the joke. Not shocking you would look for a chance to throw a cheap shot tho. Knew what ya were implying, just chose to not recognize its lameness. Desjardin is a ****. He just had to say that publicly to embarrass us. Well, if so, it would be redundant. We need no help in embarrassing ourselves, as witnessed by the last few years.

IF there are boundaries being stepped over to the detriment of the Bomber command structure, it wouldn't be unique. Does anyone remember the reign of Harold Ballard? And now what is going on with the Blue Jays with the CEO(Shapiro) renewing the contract of the manager bypassing the GM (who resigned)?

Could our coaching staff be crazy enough to.....
Tracker replied to bb1's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
MOS is safe for one last game. Things will start ramping up next July if the team keeps losing. Pressure is going to be extreme to win as it his third season. Fans won't be as patient or understanding as they are this season. Miller may not be doing MOS any favours bringing him back as he won't be able to protect him anymore next season. Should Miller and/or Walters endorse O'Shea and/or Bellefeuille for next year, they will have effectively tied their futures to their choices, like Ahab lashed to the white whale. There will be no mercy for either if there is a repeat and it probably will not take until even Labour Day before they walk the plank. If this scenario unfolds, the problem will be to find good replacements mid-season for O'Shea, Bellefeuille and likely Walters. This cannot be a palatable prospect especially for Walters and has to make the Guelph option look a lot better. Miller's exit would not be far behind. -

I'd be sad if Lawless is right on it and I'm fairly sure he is. Well then, the upside to that would be that traffic getting in and out of the stadium on gamedays won't be anywhere near as much of an issue as this year or last. -

Wouldn't the "Halifax Clippers" be nice and have a nice ring to it? -

Brohm may be a good guy but the best advice I would give him is, "Don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way out." -

Disagree completely. Found myself, oddly cheering for Burris yesterday. Like to see the old guy leave with a cup. And the fans were not the problem in Ottawa in the past. The problems in the past were all about bizarre ownership and management combined with a a terrible stadium and lousy teams. -
Next question ... since it seems to be a theme around here

Your wish has been granted- for this season at least. I fear that next season their record might be better than ours. -
True, as far as that goes, but if you look at the past two seasons, the offense, defence, special teams and O-line have had problems and some of them continue to this day. It wasn't just one thing, and that points to more issues than one or two individuals. And then there's the talent level....

Right now, Edmonton looks to be far and away the best, best-balanced team in the league and have to the odds-on favourites to win the cup. -
As far as I know, Orridge does not post his itinerary, so how the heck would we know what his schedule looks like? It may or may not be due to any effort on the part of Cohon, or follow-up work by Orridge, but with the Argos moved into new digs, the league will be in the best shape in many years.
