  1. Nothing wrong with that. Except that it shows how utterly pathetic our scouting and GM are. Actually quite the opposite.....because they're constantly working to upgrade, and not just sitting on "Ehhh, good enough....." Really? How many of these revolving door guys is on the roster right now? It is one thing to continue to bring in people but if it not producing anything of note then, well ... I would totally agree with you if there was evidence that it was producing results but like the rest of what this regime is doing there just isn't any evidence to back up all this faith people have in them. This is a 5-11 team that is only in the hunt for a play-off spot because there are equally crappy teams losing around them. There has to be an assumption an assumption that we are not bringing in people at random, but rather those that have had some vetting as to talent, smarts and heart. I have not been overly impressed with McManus and Co.'s bush beating to date, particularly in finding good QB prospects, but next training camp has to produce or else. We need help at defensive tackle, running back, receiver, quarterback and an offensive tackle, and D-back or two. Of all of those, the quarterback position is one our scouting has really sucked at finding. I'm tired of us having to pick through other teams' leftovers.
  2. Davis looks to be a real long-shot to make the team. Not particularly big (5'7") and quick but not a burner. Seems to be a leader and smart but will probably be an also-ran.
  3. FWIW: over at Riderfans, they seem to think that there is real conflict in Calgary building, and a possibility Hufnagel will not want to give up coaching, even if it means moving on. And, needless to say, they are all breathless and sweaty about him maybe coming to the Riders.
  4. If the Stamps force Huffer out, it would probably be a mistake of epic proportions. Dave D. may turn out to be a good head coach, but it is a roll of the dice. Even Popp and Buono, who are pretty bright guys with tonnes of experience, have had difficulty finding good coaches.
  5. But but but....we were promised he would be back in plenty of time for this season. Could it be that we have been hornswoggled?
  6. The O'Shea supporters here have pretty much given up defending him and O'Shea's mien on the sidelines in the last two games (and the last one in particular) indicates that he has given up as well. He is going through the motions, but he is a dead man walking and he knows it.
  7. Hall is the only coach who has shone this year, so if he thinks that Hurl is or will be a good MLB, I would give him the benefit of any doubt.
  8. It would not speak well for Walters if he dogged it in the last few weeks of his regime if he is planning to leave. I will assume that he is going to earn his pay to the end, whenever that might be.
  9. Bilukidi arriving in Winnipeg in the next couple of weeks could save Walters' job- if Walters still wants to be here. Can't see him being of any help this year unless we make the playoffs (snort). My money is on Walters bolting.
  10. I also find it amusing to see how many people take things at face value. And "off field issues" could be anything, including my theory. And ya, O'Shea is nothing but forthcoming with the media So explain to me exactly how the conspiracy that you put forward actually helps the Bombers in any way. A player has been released from the PR. It's done all the time for any number of reasons across the league. How do you think that lying about the reason would help the Bombers? I think that, given the fact that the league is so small and that eventually, other teams would find out the "real" reason, the Bombers would be taking a huge risk of looking like complete and total jackasses, willing to say anything, to lie about the reasons for releasing someone when they had no good reason to do so. In that case, how do you think they'd be viewed across the league? But hey, I get it, conspiracy plots are way more fun that the boring old facts. Personally, I heard that Miller ordered it because the real reason that Boyd was released was that he found out what the secret ingredient in booster juice is and he was getting ready to tell the world. Soylent something or other... Moreso than they have in the past couple of years?
  11. Agreed. The only question is the degree and timing of the change(s).
  12. Hall is bright and personable and his defence has been the only bright spot this year despite a weak D-line, but his record when a head coach wasn't great, if memory serves. There may have been extenuating factors but if so, I don't know what they would have been.
  13. Nah. Klezmer or nothing. Or 20 minutes of nose flute solos.
  14. When was the last time that there were three such horribly inept teams in the league? The commissioner ought to disqualify all three in disgust.
  15. So after watching the Montreal debacle does anyone still want to rush to Glenn's defense? Yeah there were more problems than just him but he was pretty crap all on his own. It was a first game after two practices. Lets wait until next game to pass judgement.
  16. It is also possible that he didn't like the circus here- inept coaching and passive management. And in Montreal, there's always Rue St.Catherine's. But this doesn't quite jibe with the Bombers pronouncement of "off-field issues". More like a rodent abandoning what he sees as a sinking ship.
  17. TWO.....PROGRESSIVE......YEARS??????
  18. Dead on. If the Bombers are going to make the changes as they ought to, they should be making that decision right now, even if it is not going to be announced until later. Otherwise, we are looking at leftovers again. Time to go shopping.
  19. You mentioned 9 linebackers (listed) and 1 backup receiver. Explain why this was a roster management no no. Serious question.Cause our offense sucks and we are playing Stoudemire as one of our REC? Like WTF? EXACTLY.
  20. I vote for Gino Vanelli or Jian Gomishi.
  21. I seem to recall the pattern that if it comes down to close race between and offensive and defensive players for the CFL MOP awards it will go to the offensive players almost every time.
  22. There is a point to firing Bellefeuille soonest possible- it sends a long overdue message that incompetence has consequences and in reality, a nutless monkey could lose games as OC.
  23. For those who continue to support O'Shea's continued presence as head coach- what has he done exceptionally well to deserve a stay of execution? Win-loss record? Nope. Smart choice of underlings? Nope. Assessment of player talent? Nope. Roster management? Nope. Inspiring sideline presence? Nope. Making changes to player personnel before crisis? Nope.
  24. There was nothing wrong with Wild's long-snapping, but he was getting pulped by the opposing tackle.
  25. And who made those decisions, as well as choosing Etch and the now-departed ST coach?
