  1. Even factoring in youthful enthusiasm, you have to question Marve's common sense in trying for a pro football career with knee problems as bad as his were and probably still still are. Personally, I would rather be able to walk around pain-free and be able to squat on a throne than risk fully destroying my knee(s) playing or trying to play for a minor league for peanuts.
  2. Past performance suggests that the answer is "no". It will take a minimum of 3 more months if it happens at all.
  3. The lack of half-time adjustments last year were obvious all season to many here in this forum. The 2014 defence had a lot of other problems but that lack was glaring. The same inability to adapt to the other team's defence on the fly or during the half-time break has continued for the most part right into this year. For the life of me, if it was and is so obvious to amateurs, I cannot understand why O'Shea, Walters and even Miller could not pick it out.
  4. In the chat room during the game, myself and one other person immediately posted that the Rogers catch was very questionable, even before the replay showed it as incomplete. Admittedly, we had the benefit of a good camera angle, but surely the Bombers could have similar views during the game action.
  5. No way Montreal trades Cato. A late round pick and the Riders choice of Crompton or Marsh makes more sense.Cato had one good game; his first game. He isn't very good. He's a good young prospect, he may not be ready to be a full time starter but he's still only 23. Giving up the only QB on their roster with the ability to be a long term starter for mediocre never was Kevin Glenn would be idiotic at best.Except Glenn on the Als with that D could = Grey Cup and make Popp look like a genius. Popp has a big ego. With Collaros on the sidelines and questions about Harris and Smilin' Hank, Glenn could make a borderline team like the Alouettes a contender to go to the Grey Cup.
  6. No guarantees, but a lot of people are auditioning for the next-year jobs. Something like this trade would have to be okayed all the way up, I would bet.
  7. Sask may say otherwise, but the chances of them recovering from such a horrible start and making the playoffs is very. very slim. One way or another, their future is not with Glenn behind center and they are also starved for talent, so trading Glenn for someone of value makes sense.
  8. where did you read that. Heard it reported on TSN radio.
  9. A rumour reported by Lawless this morning has Popp negotiating for Kevin Glenn-probably for any Alouette QB currently on their roster plus a draft pick.
  10. Another reason why Bellefeuille is dead weight. Game after game, we continue to see the dame things with no improvement.
  11. How have you decided to blame the coach and not the player for that? Absolutely. Who else is supposed to watch to make sure the players are where they are supposed to be?The player. You're expecting Osh to run to the Calgary sideline and line his guy up correctly? O'Shea has the responsibility to oversee the alignment. Period. If he didn't notice it or he didn't instruct the player (Moore?) to line up properly, its still on O'Shea.
  12. How have you decided to blame the coach and not the player for that? Absolutely. Who else is supposed to watch to make sure the players are where they are supposed to be? They should know themselves. Coaches can't line them up. If players know what to do why need coaches?
  13. No timeouts in the last 3 minutes, I believe. But someone could have suddenly gone down with a leg cramp.

  15. Well, there it was. If we needed any more convincing that O'Shea needs to go, that bonehead oversight in not getting his people lined up properly with the game on the line ought to convince all but the delusional.
  16. And that may be an optimistic assessment.
  17. I believe it falls under the "Dey tuk er jerbs!" laws. terk deerrr jeeerrrrbs! Uff da!!!
  18. I expect the team to compete from the opening whistle, leave it all out the field, one play at a time, give it their all, and not quit until the game is over. Did I miss any cliches?
  19. Since this thread seems to be serving as a gameday thread, over at the Stamp's fan forum, the consensus is that they will score about 40 points and the Bombers will rack up no more than 20. Of some note, the recently departed Jasper Simmons was described as a very good rah-rah locker room/sidelines guy who couldn't crack the roster in Cowgary. The speculation was that the Bombers will really miss his energy. Sounds like what many here have been expecting- another blowout.
  20. Can someone donate to that online?
  21. I'm hoping against hope that the Bombers have one upset win in them this year, and that it might be this game. I'd better go now, take my meds and lie down until this passes.
  22. Its getting harder and harder to look forward to games this year with excitement. There may be an Australian Rules Lawn Darts tourney on somewhere. And there's the knitting channel's purling finals from Yorkton Saskatchewan ....
