  1. Much as I like Khari and what he would bring to the community, we have had enough of inexperienced head coaches who are cutting their teeth at our expense. We need someone with successful head coach experience, like a Trestman or even Higgins. Were Trestman available right now, I would turf O'Shea today, not because I dislike him, but because he appears to be in over his head.
  2. Spit. No help forthcoming here.
  3. And they are welcome to him. He shows every indication that his problems are bigger than his talent.
  4. Ricky Ray is at least as brittle as Willy,so putting him behind the current Bomber O-line is a recipe for an expensive disaster. Besides, its after 10:00 AM and we haven't heard that Bellefeuille and/or Brohm has been show the door, so my pessimism is growing.
  5. Actually, had the Riders won against Ottawa, it would have given them some degree of hope, but now going into the next two games, all they will have is an intial flurry of effort and if that does not pay off quickly, they will fold. The Riders have a dreadful defence which the Bombers (surely to God) ought to be able to exploit even with a crippled offence. Our defence should be able to smother whatever offence the Riders cobble together. No excuse for the Bombers not winning albeit in a crushingly boring pair of games. The biggest challenge for fans of either team will be fighting back the waves of boredom and nausea.
  6. I have to admire Chamblin for the restraint and composure he showed in handling what must be a horrible job in answering the tough questions after his 9th loss with patience. If you have to lose, the best you can do is handle it with class.
  7. I would almost settle for Australian Lawn Darts semi-finals replays.
  8. Can we merge the teams for the rest of the year? Then see a divorce lawyer?
  9. Doubt it. It was re-evaluate at 6 weeks, not ready to play at 6 weeks. I believe they said the "most optimistic prognosis was 6-8 weeks"- not encouraging.
  10. Said he from the bottom of a six-foot deep trench.
  11. The Riders do suck. But a rookie refusing to enter a game? His mates would turn on him. That's unheard of and unbelievable. Would be remarkabley stupid. Did see Kevin Glenn being more involved on the sidelines after Smith Was pulled. Smith kept occupied by biting his nails. Not even a clipboard for him.Just like a Rider fan to come up with some excuse for losing, again. Not sure if I believe this. The closest thing to this I have heard of was back in the 80's when Ronnie Lancaster was coaching the Riders and decided to send in the backup QB in a losing game. This QB said that he wasn't ready to go in. He was gone that night. If Smith defied Chamblin thus, he would have been sent to the showers and been told to be gone before the team needed to be in locker room.
  12. Where do you get the opinion that Higgins and Khari are morons?
  13. Really pissed off at my coaching too. I want to borrow the truck too. In the meantime, I'll trade you Brohm for Sunseri straight up. That would be like trading projectile diahorrea for an impacted colon.
  14. (Moan) the upcoming Bomber/Rider games ought to make lawn tractor racing attractive by comparison.
  15. O'Shea was NOT right. Brohm was and is far worse than Marve, even with Marve's putrid display Saturday. Brohm hit his performance ceiling as soon as he arrived and has not progressed, but Marve was an unknown, and maybe still is. If the GM and coaches saw that Marve was only as good as he was against Calgary, why in Hades did they even bother keeping him around? Buck can hold a clipboard as well as anyone.O'Shea said he wasn't ready, and he is right..he isn't. He may never be. Scary as it might sound, Brohm was the better option..as backup at the time. Now, it's pretty obvious, we don't even have a backup.Time for the next man up. This QB thing, over the last few years is...killing us. I suggest that Brohm has proven repeatedly that he is useless, and we did not know how good Marve may be. I repeat my question: if the coaches knew that Marve could never be any better than he showed yesterday, why was he kept?
  16. At least after he stunk up the joint, we could eat him…… assuming we win one of two against sask…. I figure we'll limp along to the end of the year with who we have. then can the offensive coach, (which solves all our problems according to some people here) …. this gets oshea one more year. we'll still be crappy next year, then Mike will be canned. If we lose both to sask, somebodies leaving involuntarily. that's my (admittedly relatively uniformed ) guess. coaches salaries have to be calculated into what they do as well. paying the fired guy, paying the new guy. ticket sales off. not good. Don't like to say it, but it's Hard to understand why they keep Brohm on the team. other than being a good guy, I can't see the point of keeping him around. Heck, I'm a good guy and can hold a clip board with the best and I would work a lot cheaper than Brohm. It would be nice to supplement my pension and I would be no less effective than Brohm.
  17. Smith got hammered pretty hard a while back- that may something to do with it.
  18. O'Shea was NOT right. Brohm was and is far worse than Marve, even with Marve's putrid display Saturday. 19. Marve was better last year usuing his natural abilities, this year he's been enrolled in Marcel's QB kindergarten and is failing miserably. His "natural abilities" aren't going to take him far if he doesn't learn how to pass at a basic level. Calgary had Simpson spying him and sealing the edge behind the end if Marve did try to leave the pocket. Calgary's ends also never came on inside moves, they stayed in pretty clearly defined wide rush lanes to not give him any opportunity to rollout or scramble. Marve is going to have a hell of a time leaving the pocket if he doesn't make teams respect his arm to at least a basic level. Shovel pass or screen solves this problem early... To get the ball into the hands of another player to get rocked for minimal gain. There needs to be a threat 10-15 yards down the field and deep as well to open things up. Marve has shown no ability to make accurate throws on time at those levels. Did you see the Eskimo's Franklin dropping deep balls gently over the defenders reach into the waiting arms of his receivers? Man, I wanted to cry! How do other teams find these guys and why can't we? Maybe its because we are paying our QBs in Canadian Tire money?
  20. Marve ought to have looked better, not necessarily a world-beater but better than he showed. All you need do is look at the backups in Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto who were thrown into the game with little starting experience and seem to be doing way better. I am not sure if it is time to give up on Marve, but maybe he is not getting the coaching he needs.
  21. Could he or Davis possibly be worse than Brohm? At the very least, the newbies have possible potential.
  22. If your logic holds, that would mean that if Davis starts or even plays, we are down to desperation. Not beyond imagination.
  23. Nobody is crowing but when you can't complete a pass more than 5 yards... next really. What seems to be wrong Is some people hoped Marve would be the saviour.. thought he was the second coming really and now after he's stunk it up for a game and a half let's say... can't admit that maybe the problem is indeed Marve. Nobody is happy about how marve played... everybody wanted him to do well but it's obvious he is lost and greener than goose crap. Can't even throw 10 yards with accuracy. That something wrong is the guy who touches the ball on every O play who put up like 96 yards of O in 3 quarters. We all wish he was better but... facts all point to he's not and he has a very long way to go. His performance was one of the worst QB performances in recent memory. Seriously. Was Boltus worse? I don't know at this point. Marve's performance was as bad as any quarterback that has started for us in decades- right up there with Boltus and Rubley. The point is that Brohm was worse both yesterday and every chance he got since he arrived. Brohm played himself out of contention long ago and I maintain Marve deserved a shot. He shat the bed but I can't help believing that he had/has the talent to be decent in this league but there is something broken in this team. If Marve starts against Sask, he has to look way better or the team will give up on him like they did on Brohm and then we are in free-fall.
  24. To all those crowing because Marve stunk the stadium up last night: there were damned few of us who claimed that Marve was The Answer. Most who were calling for Marve to play were certain that Brohm was NOT the answer and that Marve deserved a shot to play himself on or off the team. He had that chance last night and looked as bad as any starting Bomber QB has looked since, well, forever. Marve had a pretty decent resume before coming here and I am having difficulty believing he is as incompetent as he looked last night. Something is dreadfully wrong here.
