  1. Not looking forward to the upcoming home and home with the Riders. It's like a slow-horse race with the losing coach likely to be canned and too close to call. At the start of the season, who'da thunk this?
  2. The Bombers have been in a bad news cycle for awhile now, and it aint gettin better
  3. With all the liabilities we had, including Marve being sick, it was a credit to thedefence that we were still in the game as late as we were.
  4. And Debbie does Dallas
  5. Yeah, I would be scared behind that offensive line too.
  6. a. block the inside guys so that the rush has to come form the outside b. roll the pocket left or right c. hit the hot pass routes d. draw play up the middle e. buy the QB a condolence card after apologizing profusely f. get another QB onto the field after carting the previous one off
  7. Its not swagger if you can back it up.
  8. Bellefeuille probably ordered Marve to stay in the pocket in the second half, and it did affect his play. Our defence played better in the second half but the offence compensated for that by playing worse. Still, had Brohm been in there, it would have been a worse beating than we got against Edmonton. or... maybe but just a crazy idea here... toronto's dc made adjustments that took away stuff for marve? And that could not have been foreseen and compensated for? Marcel is supposed to be a mind reader and just know what toronto is going to change after half?! Maybe he did make adjustments later into the second or third and they didnt work? Football is not that complicated that whatever Toronto chose to do could not have been anticipated and a contingency plan B worked out. So far as the adjustments not working out, if a coach went to his boss and said that whatever he had planned wasn't working and he didn't know what to do, that would usually result in a firing.
  9. What do you mean by first round status, he was drafted in the 7th round 249 over-all. To slow to be a rush end and no cover abilities to be a linebacker. He was the classic definition of hype and in the end i hope he has something to fall back on from college. My bad- i thought he was drafed much higher.

  11. Sooner or later these brain cramps cannot be dismissed as happenstance and root causes have to identified.
  12. Khari has always impressed as well-spoken and intelligent, with the respect of his team mates, and that ought to make for a good head coach. I'm not sure if he would be our best choice- I would love to to see Trestman here (if he becomes available). We've been taking chances on log-shots too often (Kelly, Berry, Reinbold etc) and suffered for it. Trestman would be a Godsend.
  13. If the Bombers are unhappy with Hajrullahu, Swayze will be back for the Argos next week, forcing them to release Pfeiffer or Swayze and Pfieffer is a Canuck (I think). So we ought to have an option unless Pfeiffer develops a sudden and mysterious injury.
  14. As has been stated before, Marve didn't have much time to prepare for this game, but with a bye week we ought to get a much clearer read on him against Calgary but that is going to be a pretty severe test.
  15. Sam ought to have been a perfect rush end in the CFL and he didn't earn his first-round status by accident. I doubt if anyone could be good at his/her job when their valued relationship/marriage is falling apart but Sam's stock has probably fallen so low that getting another training camp invite next year is unlikely even in this league.

  17. The Kohlert fumble was bad but we were already losing at that point anyway. Final nail in the coffin, for sure. Kohlert was stretching for the first down, and although I didn't like the result, I can't fault the effort. That sort of thing is going to happen when you push. The kick return is what killed us, but the O-line once again just wasn't good enough.
  18. Barring a major and miraculous turnaround of the team, there is probably going to be a large-scale houscleaning at the end of the season, and O'Shea is far from safe. He doesn't coach special teams (although he has apparently been breathing down Tracy's neck of late) or the offence, he was instrumental in choosing them. I still have optimism for Marve, but there are too many other holes in this team to expect better than a 6 and 12 record. Even if Willy was here, it wouldn't have made a critical difference last night and we still have at least two months to go.
  19. A good read confirming much of what I have been seeing. Thanks.
  20. It was close enough to be a gimme, but somebody scewed up.
  21. Apparently his long-term relationship fell apart and he took it very hard to the point where his head wasn't in football any more.
  22. This is the furstrating thing about O'shea- a body appendage hanging by a thread and a hangnail both get the same description to the media and public, so we really don't know much at all.
  23. Ironically enough, the arms of Marve and/or Harris will probably decide the game tomight. Harris is the most effective passer in the league at the moment, and Toronto will try to keep Marve in the pocket and force himto try to beat them with his passing as opposed to his run and/or throw approach. If we cannot get pressure on Harris (and his O-line is not great), its going to be a long evening for the secondary.
  24. Actually, I thought LeFevour didn't look too bad in his outings.
