  1. And he wasn't alone.
  2. Well, we may see how committed the team is to rewarding performance versus buddies. If Brohm isn't good enough to beat out Marve and Portis, he ought to be shown the door. Wally Buono may not make many BFFs among his players, but his teams are almost always competitive.
  3. Here's a golden opportunity for Veltung to step up and make his case for a job, if he ever gets off the "owie squad". I've been impatienty waiting for him to show his stuff, but so far, all promise, no performance.
  4. Not looking good for Brohm.....maybe just a bad day, but I haven't heard any kudos for him since the start of camp.
  5. More than one defensive tackle must be smacking their lips over the prospect of looking across the line and seeing Pencer opposite.
  6. Sorry, Spuds, I have to disagree. All the bells and whistles are there in the newer Blackberrys, but they took too long to produce a consumer rather than a business-oriented mobile phone. The free Blackberry Messenger texting alone is great, but for many of us in the Boomer age group, learning how to make any new cellphone sing and dance is more effort than it seems worth.
  7. Its amazing how quickly veteran players recover from nagging injuries once training camp is over.
  8. Damned few athletes know when its time. Most will have to be pushed before they decide to jump, even the star players. At the very least, 20 year olds recover a lot quicker from owies than 44 year olds.
  9. Sounds there will some hard decisions to make at receiver and DB positions- maybe linebacker as well. Would be nice if Richards would be able to get onto the field- he is losing valuable time here to make the team as a starter.
  10. And far less likely to be hacked as per Rupert Murdoch's minions. Blackberry's security features are good enough to get them banned in more than one country, if I remember correctly.
  11. It wasn't Kelly's coaching abilities that scuttled him here.
  12. In the Excited States of America (home to 90% of all the lawyers in the world), people sue organizations all the time for what we would consider frivolous reasons, but the plaintiffs hope that the bad publicity and cost of mounting a defence will get the organization to settle. And usually they do, but the standards of proof are a good deal more lax down there, so a finding for the plaintiff is more likely than here in Canada. Banks is probably thinking he can force a settlement and walk away with a tidy nest egg, but I wouldn't bet on it. The CFL's insurance company may look at their costs in defending themselves and offer a token settlement with a non-disclosure agreement.
  13. I sure hope we're paying him what he's worth. If O'shea thought he is good, then I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just hope he's not looking at it blindly, just like how he saw Ejiro Kuale at last year's TC. Has anyone heard the description, "S/he wouldn't say **** if her/his mouth was full of it"? For me, that was the most annoying thing last season- that there were really, really inept players (and at least one coach) on the team, and everyone was pretending that all was sweetness and light. I know about the code of silence and all that, but there ought to have been someone who called bullpoop and at least at the end of the season named names and swung the axe.
  14. Yes.. Blackberry 10.3 is hands down the best platform for messaging. The hub makes communication (Twitter, facebook, bbm, whatsapp, email) so simple and effiecent. Activated on BES you get the personal side of the phone that the users can run and install whatever they want (blackberry or ANDROID apps) without us having to worry about it affecting their corporate email/files manager/ SMB shares (Connected OTA). Using blackberry drive the users can hit all our internal file servers and run presentations from their phones if they like. Though bes (workspace) they can use the browsers to access any intranet site they like. With Blackberry Blend/Link they can remotely pull files from their home pcs/office pcs/whatever easily while on the go. With the Blackberry passport i get 2 days of use out of a single charge, take pretty good pictures and can fireoff emails at will without feeling the urge to walk back to a computer to hammer it out. I've used IOs for a long time and Used android (s3, nexus 5) for over a year but other then all the fun apps i seldom use other then when pooping, they don't handle communications the greatest. But thats just me.. We do have some creative types that insist on apple devices.. But.. Well. we don't have apps that are specific to our work, so its mostly time killers they " need" i use and ipad mini and ipad 3 and surface pro as my tablets.. I get the draw of Ios and Samsungs running android for alot of people, and alot of it comes from " what phone should i get? " replies with "Iphone or samsung depending on how geeky or hippy they are" Go Blackberry! We love our Z10's.
  15. Could Wally be entering his dotage?
  16. Much of the unknown revolves around the cities. These players know about New York, Los Angeles or Dallas but have never heard of Winnipeg, Hamilton or Saskatchewan. Canada is just a giant frozen wasteland full of non-threatening weird-speaking dog-sled driving hosers that Americans spend 2 seconds a year expending mental energy on. I don't know how many times I've spoken to American visitors who are walking around Kelowna dumb-founded that we have electricity and roads and Burger King franchises, just like them. And that we have periods of time in the year that we aren't shivering under snow banks. And some of these people have been from Spokane. Whenever there is a "Canada" topic on Jeopardy, it's always the last one chosen. Contestants can answer questions on Greek philosophers, classical music composers and nuclear physics, but stare dumb-founded at the camera if asked what province Toronto is in. Or a name of one prime minister we've ever had. Or what sport is revered in Canada that involves a puck, a net, and ice. Alex's disgusted looks are always classic too. http://globalnews.ca/news/2033286/watch-jeopardy-contestant-fails-canadian-geography-loses-it-all/ They're on to us!!!
  17. Truthfully, Greaves was never going anywhere .. that was just a lot of idle speculation by fans .. Kirk Penton Article ... It never made sense Greaves has been one of our best OL for years, rarely gets beat... Again, it was idle speculation with nothing backing it .. and as dependable (health wise) as Greaves has been ... let's not overstate how effective he is .. he is (has been) part of the problem with the interior of our line. Nobody, but nobody, on the O-line looked good last season, so lets cut Greaves some slack for the time being. If he is the weak link this year, then we will fix it.
  18. We could offer Brady a personal deflator aide.
  19. Obviously not the wright player.
  20. Sounds fishy to me.
  21. Hyped stuff usually is not all its cracked up to be. For example, I was at Ikea a few months ago and saw new, improved toilet brishes. I bought three, but after two weeks, I went back to toilet paper.
  22. I'm heartbroken. I'll be over in the corner crying. I'm reliving how my father didn't protect me.
  23. Why didn't you put this comment in a new thread? It would have had more impact.
  24. Boy, a lot of miles on this guy. Odd that he doesn't stick, despite obvious talent.
  25. Good for Weatherman... err Westerman... bad on Daniels. any reports for our awesome group of long-haired Cdn LBs - Hurl, Newman, Waggoner and Briggs. Hurl continues to play a lot at MLB in the drills and scrimmages. Wouldn't surprise me to two starting Canadian linebackers to start the season. But but but Bass is such an awesome name for a middle linebacker.
