  1. But O'Shea thought Etchevery was a good hire, so we will have to wait and see. We do have a good core group in the defensive backfield, though and some good and promising Canadian talent, so we are already on first base.
  2. Glenn may or may not be in our plans, but it comes down to how much faith the coaches have in our current backups. He has not embarrassed himself in personal conduct, and would likely be a decent experienced backup if need be, but I don't see him coming back.
  3. Oh, poop. I have hoped....
  4. We ought to have made him a lineman coach. Then he would be Barron of beef, but that's Myles away now.
  5. That seems....excessive. Not if he turns out to be a Kevin Eiben grade of starting linebacker.
  6. Maybe as a backup in Toronto close to his franchises in Detroit.
  7. Ironically enough, I'm sort of rooting for Ottawa to be a much better team than last year. We do not need another gong show in Ottawa after all the miseries they have gone through. Besides, the more competitive Ottawa is, the more likely the eastern teams are to beat each other up and the ratings on TSN would be higher if the game quality goes up. Win-win.
  8. If the Riders had him last year when Durant went down, they would have been in much better shape.
  9. Hurl has the right passport, attitude, smarts and durability. He could be another Kevin Eiben or Larry Wruck.
  10. With the re-stocking of the offensive line pool, this has to change things in the draft. We don't know if Mulumba or Bilikudi are anywhere near coming to the CFL, but if Walters' conversations with their agents reveals that they are going to hang around the periphery of the NFL hoping for a shot, maybe he ought to target Gaydosh. Maybe if we looked at Hamilton's needs and draft accordingly, Hamilton might trade him to us. Gaydosh looks like he might be the next 97.
  11. I'm betting on Demski.
  12. We still need a stud middle linebacker, but there is still hope.
  13. NOW, its getting interesting.
  14. Certainly more durable as well.
  15. Our opening bid - $181,290 Don't get TSN radio involved here.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up Mike.... really appreciate it!His Twitter has the bomber logo featured prominently, and his last tweet says simply "bomb squad". Safe to say he is signed.I agree that he's likely to be in Bomber camp, but the Winnipeg Rifles and Bombers have almost the exact same logo; pretty sure Goodrich has he Rifles logo on his Twitter.Doh! Need more coffee. No you don't. It is a Bombers logo . It says Blue Bombers. Do not dare to interfere with someone's need (real or imagined) for coffee. Tim Horton will be vexed.
  17. Panic is beginning in Alberta. Calgary housing sales are down 38% over January 2014 and Edmonton is almost as bad with mortgage defaults rising rapidly. Cuts are being planned to healthcare and education as well. There is not going to be any play money for awhile.
  18. Good news as long as he doesn't retire. Wrong thread tracker. Sorry, I was out of balance but now i have a good grip in all seasons.
  19. Iso any word in Calgary about the rumoured joint arena/stadium proposal for the Stamps/Flames of late? Or is that on the backburner with the drop in oil and probable huge deficit in Alberta? I've heard rumours that some kind of announcement is coming "soon", whatever that means. The word soon has been for a couple of years now. All 3 levels of government have said no to any kind of public funding & now with the provincial economy in the tank the Flames would be crazy to even consider that as an option. The primary Flames owner Murray Edwards is a billionaire & I've heard stories a new arena will be 100% privately funded by him but it will come at a price for fans. If you want season tickets to watch the Flames, rock concert, circus, pro lacrosse then you'll have to pay expensive individual seat licenses. If it's anything like the 49ers owners have done then I'm thinking maybe ten to 15 grand financed over a five year period for a decent seat. I also think the arena will be stand alone & no new stadium will be attached with the project. I'm just speculating here. Wow! That will be something if they go that route. As wealthy as Calgary is, I'm not sure they would find 17,000 or so folks willing to pay between 5,000 - 15,000 for seat licenses. Maybe a smaller amount for general seats but larger amounts (like the 5 - 15,000 you suggested) for club seats and suites? Maybe a tax on each ticket ($5) bought? Anyways, it will be interesting to see how things shake out. The economic forecast for oil and gas is grim for at least the next 3-5 years and if the alternate energy source called LENR lives up to its progress thus far, oil could become almost irelevant in value. That would't be all bad.
  20. Good news as long as he doesn't retire.
  21. There are so many uncertainties that it must be insanely difficult for Walters to plan his roster for the upcoming season. If Billukidi or Mulumba show up, we would be happy, but if both somehow are here, we would be overjoyed, and all the roster plans go right out the window. Our needs remain the same: two, maybe three offesive linemen, a dominant pass rusher or two, one or two linebackers, a good canuck receiver, and a sturdy import receiver of the Denmark quality.
  22. Even though I thought he was very average last year I'm a little surprised that Desia Dunn isn't in our plans whatsoever. Janaury was atrocious last year and I have zero interest bringing him back in any capacity. January played hurt for most of the season, but it looks like he has passed his "best before" date.
  23. It's impossible to insult bagpipes.
  24. Now, this guy ought to count for two roster spots.
  25. I hope not. Sisco has the same rep in Regina as Etienne had here, but with way more owies.
