  1. I'll be waiting outside the store with my gold pellet paint ball gun. Hey, might improve it lol.. So note to self, wear hockey equipment and welders mask on day of purchase.. And a cup. Really, always wear a cup. It's just smart. When hockey equipment is on... So is a cup.. Catching a 80 kph wrister to the nether regions sans cup is not a fun time in my books.. Once you have kids it's best you just wear the thing all the time. I got a lil-un (2 year old daughter) so the day is coming soon when baseball bats, soccer balls, etc etc take me out for a series or two... Joy. A two-year old is a mixture of joy and frustration, so enjoy- that time is all too short. BTW, daughters are God's punishment to guys for being male.
  2. What? That sounds like a good way to be the farm team for everyone else in the league. I think the assumption is that you make the trades judiciously.
  3. This guy sounds CFL-ideal. Athletic, determined, hard to bring down, with an ego under control. Can we get him into the next couple of games?
  4. Grigsby should have signed with the Riders if he wanted that. I thought chlorine made your colon white and shiny? But if you have some of it surgically removed, it becomes a semi-colon.
  5. Sask Riders news= yawn
  6. Yaay for Walters. Good to see him stocking the shelves and letting the incumbents know that they have no entitlements.
  7. Sooo Grigsby asks to be cut because he doesn't want to be a backup but could end up a backup in Hamilton??? I suspect that Grigsby's departure was a relief for the coaches, and he left in a snit anyways. He likely jumped at any opportunity in which he could fantasize about showing the Bombers how wrong they were to not acknowledge his greatness.
  8. I will be interested to see when Durant actually suits up. His injury was severe enough that his fine motor control and arm stamina ought to take some time yet before he is in game shape and competitive.
  9. In his Freep column today, Doug Brown said that it would make sense to play Marve for the next couple of games to showcase him. Brown believes that Marve's biggest value to the team is as a tradeable asset. Brown sees Marve as having a set of skills that make him ideal for the CFL, and that more than one team would be interested enough in Marve to offer real value in exchange. We are going to find out how aggressive Walters is prepared to be in rebuilding the team and how rigid O'Shea is in how he plans to run the team.
  10. And Lawless also wrote that O'Shea has a volcanic temper and was likely to lose it on the sidelines. What the heck- one out of two ain't bad. Maybe O'Shea is on Librium.
  11. I wouldn't cry myself to sleep (too much) if Bellefeuille was gone after this season as I am not sure if he had enough talent to work with, but Etcheverry has to go as soon as possible. I hope O'Shea and Walters have short-listed candidates for DC already, but if O'Shea is as stubborn as he has seemed to be this year, they both may be back. Brrrr.
  12. We don't know if Willy is uncomfortable and/or ineffective as a roll-out QB, so there is that.
  13. In the FreeP today, Lawless described O'Shea as very stubborn. It may have served o"Shea well in the past as a player or even as an assistant coach, but as a head coach, if he has difficulty seeing that he is wrong when he obviously is, it will not go well for him or the team. Determination is a great asset, but not if it turns into rigidity.
  14. Fire Mack again. If that doesn't work, fire Burke as well.
  15. And hand grenades. Was just about to say that .. And don't forget about nuclear warfare
  16. Not very freakin' often, and Fitz seems to have pretty good hands.
  17. Depressing, it is. Screwed, we are.
  18. Welcome. If you can hang in through all the current misery, you ought to be ecstatic when we actually start winning consistently. Hopefully, that is not too far off.
  19. As great as it was to see a back break tackles and make TD's, we won't know how good Cotton can be until we have a decent O-line and the scores in games are close enough that running the ball is an option. The O-line wasn't great last night by any means, but it was a heck of a lot better than it has been, so we have hope. BC will be forewarned and may prove tougher to run against, so I hope we will see Cotton catch a few swing passes.
  20. The two-back set is not much of an option due to the horrible play of the O-line so the extra man is needed to shore up the blocking. A good old-school tight end could help with the blocking and even leak out into the flats for outlet passes to slow the rush once in awhile.
  21. Its due to lack of talent, injuries and having a dolt for a defensive coach.
  22. You don't really want to know the answer to that, do you?
  23. Daniles not bad at all, but Goossen was beaten pretty soundly more than once, but that's the price you pay to gain experience.
  24. Marve has the tools and the grit to do well in this league, but I am still concerned about his running with those wonky knees. Wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket.
  25. If we play as well against BC next week as we did against Calgary, We have a good chance of beating them.
