But then the team would have to build a biffy in the Assiniboine forest off Grant.

One of the reasons that Crompton is looking so good is that BC has not harassed him at all, and that will make any middling QB look like and all-star. Glenn and Partridge are getting no help from their receivers whatsoever.
-
Wow. This game has gone south in a hurry. Not only has the BC offense been toothless, the defence has completely caved. Reminds of the Bombers in the last half of the season- Crompton has been very good though and I never thought he was anything more than a mediocre backup.

Benevides may be fired before the end of the game if this pathetic effort continues.

Pittsburgh Gazette article on Ian Wild and Moe Leggett
Tracker replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
A good read, and gives an insight into two very good players who are here for the love of the game rather than the big paycheque. -
As much as it pains me to say this, I think Joseph just might beat the Esks and I expect that Glenn will lead the Lions to victory. I have sympathy for Glenn who is a good but not great QB but has had little luck or respect, so I'm kinda pulling for him. Besides, BC overall has the better team. As far as Sask winning, we are going to see if God have has a sense of humour (or irony).

An interesting thread. If the Bombers are going to draft Demski, who looks like a one in a generation player, and go with three NI receivers, then who would the import receiver be? Denmark or ? The NI receivers we have are at least adequate with decent depth, and Demski could turn out to be another Kito Poblah. There are a lot of "sure things" who have turned out to be complete busts or just average, so maybe if we draft Demski, he might be very good trade bait for a premier O-lineman who is already established as a dominant starter. Who that might be I do not know.

Because Ottawa jumped the gun and axes someone asap? Come on Iso, you're better then this.. Hey SPuDs, I guess I want to see some changes & not the status quo. I really do believe changing the coordinators needs to be done. I'm actually concerned it will be status quo coordinators wise going into training camp. What's your thoughts? My thoughts are that this happens every year. Every time another team makes a move, you use it as an opportunity to complain that the Bombers are not. How about we just discuss the move Ottawa made instead of using it to take potshots at our management? Okay. Where's the fun in that?

Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
Tracker replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Lawless have once again demonstrated his wisdom by pointing out the obvious as well as the majority opinion on Etch. The real question is whether O'Shea will do the obviously right thing or show what has been a worrisome character trait by keeping on with what ain't working. It might be even worse if O'Shea ties the can to Etch but resents the heck out of everyone (fans and management) for forcing him to do it. -
Kerry Joseph to start west semi final
Tracker replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The Riders have gone from "were probably exaggerating" to "pathlogical liars". And no one is surprised. -
Don't say stuff like that. Go wash your mouth out with Drano.

Kerry Joseph to start west semi final
Tracker replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Nothing wrong with the Riders being humiliated in the Western semi-final. -
There is no absolute way to determine how many wins a different defensive strategy would have won for us, but for me the most telling thing is how the other teams in the CFL solved Etch's defense after a few games. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I would bet that the points allowed in the second half of the season, yards and passes allowed would all be way higher as well. If memory serves, this is a repeating theme with Etch's defenses and his approach only worked well when he had an all-star defence.

Semantics.

Kerry Joseph to start west semi final
Tracker replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We'd better be careful of our rhetoric here- Joseph just might win the day against the Esks. That would give no end of glee to the green faithful, and I wouldn't rule it out. Stranger things have happened in this league. -
Dewitos Seriously, if you missed the Colbert piece on this, google it. That stuff ought to go right up there with Burger King's hamburger poutine, deep-fried twinkies and pork rinds with cheese.
-
So Mike, tell me... If he is fired who will hire him as a DC? Please fill me in. Be interested in your take. ... what's your point? That he's the worst Defensive Coordinator in the league and we can clearly do better. Agreed. Etch's performance this season makes me wish we'd hired Marshall instead.

Divisional All Stars Announced (Only One WBB)
Tracker replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Love Mo Legg as a playmaker but don't like his tackling. He got beat a number of times going one-on-one against the ball carrier and quite a few of his tackles got shrugged off. I think Brack is a much more reliable tackler. The biggest difference between Leggett and Brackenridge is experience- a couple of years under the belt makes a world of difference in adapting to the CFL game, but either way, Brackenridge is a talent. -
For those who were betting that Reilly would be good to go with an aspirin and a bit of tape, this is bad news. On a sort of related note, Taman is looking pretty clever with bringing in Kerry Joseph.

Take a Miracle for Reilly to play in WSF
Tracker replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What, you don't like 3-1 final scores in your CFL games? -
Ummm....Alouettes are actually larks and are not predators. And so much for nit-picking. Larks yes, but blood thirsty man-eating larks for sure. Those are the worst kind.

Moreover, the #2 pivot in Edmonton, Pat White, is on the limp as well. This puts the Esks' fortunes squarely in the hands of Matt Nichols, as a broken bone in Reilly's foot will probably mean the end of his season. We could be looking at a western semifinal between Kerry Joseph and Matt Nichols. Could be a real yawner or a scrambly classic. Either way, Calgary isn't losing any sleep over this. -

Kinda reminds me of a slow-horse race between Lulay and Durant- will he or won't he.

Montreal, certainly would want Trestman back, but I think that BC and Ottawa would also be in the mix.
