  1. If the Bombers are unhappy with Hajrullahu, Swayze will be back for the Argos next week, forcing them to release Pfeiffer or Swayze and Pfieffer is a Canuck (I think). So we ought to have an option unless Pfeiffer develops a sudden and mysterious injury.
  2. As has been stated before, Marve didn't have much time to prepare for this game, but with a bye week we ought to get a much clearer read on him against Calgary but that is going to be a pretty severe test.
  3. Sam ought to have been a perfect rush end in the CFL and he didn't earn his first-round status by accident. I doubt if anyone could be good at his/her job when their valued relationship/marriage is falling apart but Sam's stock has probably fallen so low that getting another training camp invite next year is unlikely even in this league.
  4. Bellefeuille probably ordered Marve to stay in the pocket in the second half, and it did affect his play. Our defence played better in the second half but the offence compensated for that by playing worse. Still, had Brohm been in there, it would have been a worse beating than we got against Edmonton.
  5. The Kohlert fumble was bad but we were already losing at that point anyway. Final nail in the coffin, for sure. Kohlert was stretching for the first down, and although I didn't like the result, I can't fault the effort. That sort of thing is going to happen when you push. The kick return is what killed us, but the O-line once again just wasn't good enough.
  6. Barring a major and miraculous turnaround of the team, there is probably going to be a large-scale houscleaning at the end of the season, and O'Shea is far from safe. He doesn't coach special teams (although he has apparently been breathing down Tracy's neck of late) or the offence, he was instrumental in choosing them. I still have optimism for Marve, but there are too many other holes in this team to expect better than a 6 and 12 record. Even if Willy was here, it wouldn't have made a critical difference last night and we still have at least two months to go.
  7. A good read confirming much of what I have been seeing. Thanks.
  8. It was close enough to be a gimme, but somebody scewed up.
  9. Apparently his long-term relationship fell apart and he took it very hard to the point where his head wasn't in football any more.
  10. This is the furstrating thing about O'shea- a body appendage hanging by a thread and a hangnail both get the same description to the media and public, so we really don't know much at all.
  11. Ironically enough, the arms of Marve and/or Harris will probably decide the game tomight. Harris is the most effective passer in the league at the moment, and Toronto will try to keep Marve in the pocket and force himto try to beat them with his passing as opposed to his run and/or throw approach. If we cannot get pressure on Harris (and his O-line is not great), its going to be a long evening for the secondary.
  12. Actually, I thought LeFevour didn't look too bad in his outings.
  13. And He has blessed us richly with your departure.
  14. I've seen better throws after administering a charcoal emetic.
  15. Welcome aboard. Don't take anyone here (or anything) too seriously. Nobody is getting out of here alive but the Bombers will live on.
  16. Just because Stoudemire is ineffective, is that any reason to replace him as kick returner?
  17. Barring the unexpected, Sask will continue to occupy the basement of the CFL rankings for a while yet.
  18. As nice as it would be to win against Toronto, I would be at least moderately ok if Marve at least shows that he is capable of leading the team with authority, We are way overdue for an upset win from a rookie QB. We need hope for the future if not this year and we sure as spit better not outcoached again.
  19. You're exactly right... and that's what leads me to believe there isn't a huge discrepancy in an o-line coach when it comes to coaching up the fundamentals.... I would suspect most o-line coaches know how to teach fundamentals... it's more a matter of system and that points to the OC.... DelMonaco with Dickensen is going to be a lot more successful that DelMonaco with Crowton/Bellefiuelle... and maybe Wylie is only slightly better than DelMonaco in that role... is/should Wylie be more involved in system and game planning? Pretty obvious that someone should be more involved in game planning when it comes to QB protection.
  20. You're not old until you start being afraid to buy green bananas or underwear in a six-pack because one might be enough.
  21. More reason to hope from those six plays of Marve's than in Brohm's entire two years, but the past is the past. Friday is yet to be.
  22. Does this mean he will have trouble getting a ride out of town?
  23. There has been a lot of criticism of Bomber coaching and management over the past few years, and deservedly so. Some of us drank the Joe Mack and Mike Kelly Kool-Aid and followed them right over the cliff as they destroyed or at least badly damaged our beloved and once-proud Bombers. Most here picked up on the warning signs in both regimes early but were intially roasted. As time went on and the deterioration became too obvious to ignore, the "hang 'em" chorus grew well before they were sacked. Therefore, call 'em as you see 'em, but just post them as your opinions.
  24. I am racked with dread in anticipation of the Classic and Banjo Bowls this year. All we can do is hope Smith and Marve get their games together in time to prevent a couple of 10-6 games.
