  1. Hey, if it's based on weight alone, let's just trade BC for Ryan Cave so he can sneak the ball. NO need to trade for him, he's available. Farhan Lalji ✔ @FarhanLaljiTSN #BCLions are releasing OT Ryan Cave. #Shocker #CFL Cave had the footspeed and agility of a glacier.
  2. That makes no sense. The Bombers are not going to give away Brohm after coming this far with him. Within the next 4 games I hope there will be an opportunity to give Brohm some game action. It does a team no good not to give a backup playing time throughout the season to bring him along. Worst case scenario Ryan Dinwiddie making his first start in a G.C. game. Can't happen again! Remember, folks here thought that Hall was a shoo-in for backup to Willy, and we all know how that turned out. I suggest that if Hamilton is going to be short on QBs for more than a week or two, there aren't that many options for them to get a backup QB who knows what 3-down football is about. If the price is right, there aren't that many untouchables on any team. We shall see.
  3. Of all the things a QB can be guilty of and which could get him turfed, missing one or two quarterback sneaks (one of which was doomed from the snap onward) has to be waaaay down the list. Soooooo....Marve's future on that alone can't be all that shaky. The alternative possibility is that Collaros is racked up worse than first thought and Hamilton suddenly finds themselves short on CFL-experienced pivots, Since Brohm is a known quantity in Hamilton and has the experience, a trade would seem to make sense. Nice to be in the driver's seat for a change.
  4. Sounds like more negatives than positives- not all that mentally quick in US football schemes so adapting to CFL rules with all the motion may well be a hill too steep, and there is repetition of "character concerns" . His arm strength appears to be questionable as well, so all in all sounds like a long shot- a very long shot. I wonder what Danny Mac and Co. see in him? Did he suddenly mature?
  5. And i took those sedatives in anticipation of excitement for nothing.
  6. Are you asking if we could have traded for Etienne? Cause the Riders released him before the season started. It was an apparently lame attempt at humour. But Etienne was exactly an ornament during his career- as desperate as the Riders are this year for NI receiver talent, he couldn't even make the PR.
  7. That was one heck of a hit. Reminded me of some of the shots that Hall took for us last year. Brutal. I hope there are no long-term issues for him, and I can't help thinking how close Willy was to that last game with all those free shots Montreal had at him. Brr....
  8. Couldn't we have traded our Ford in for a Jade ornament?
  9. Doudie is usually afflicted with verbosity, but this time he was nothing short of hilarious.
  10. Hell I would take out Denmark and roll with 3 Canadian receivers. We are already using Kohlert and JFG well enough, the question is can Watson be a bigger impact than Denmark and I say yes he can. Watson has the heart, toughness and the talent, but is just too brittle for this game. JFG appears to have all of Watson's assets, plus a bit of extra size, greater durability and, most importantly, awesome hair.
  11. We really missed Leggett far more than I thought we would, and Greaves would be welcome, but I'm not sure if he would have fared any better against Montreal.
  12. I suspect we will see the same kind of game against Edmonton as was played against Montreal. Edmonton will blitz, blitz, blitz but does not have the running threat. Our O-line has to be a lot better but our D-line should have an easier time of it. The game is likely to go right down to the wire.
  13. I cannot recall a week where there have been so many flags thrown. Some were marginal calls but most were deserved, and it looks like nobody had a training camp. The two good, close games (Wpg-Montreal and BC-Sask) were exciting to watch but the penalty call delays really detracted.
  14. Willy's toughness won the game, but I can't help thinking that we were very fortunate to have won, and won in such a dramatic fashion. We made more than enough mistakes to lose, but Montreal couldn't take advantage of them. Against Edmonton, whom we have a good chance of beating, we cannot count on being as lucky. The two teams look to be so evenly matched that mistakes will likely decide the game.
  15. Finished watching the BC-Sask game. Glenn was far and away the most efficient of the two QBs and it looked like Benevides and Khari hatched a game plan to utilize Glenn's strengths- quick reads and short pitches. It was also clear that Harris's running was critical to BC's success and maybe Harris is on his way to both a career year and MOP Canuck. Sask's receiving corps looks pretty inadequate right now and their running game isn't so hot, either. Both teams look beatable.
  16. With Kuale not covering himself in glory, and apparently blowing assignments, Kromah would seem to be a good substitute- he was an excellent tackler with a good nose for the ball when he was with Sask. Good on Walters for not staying status quo. I didn't like how Montreal was able to complete those flare passes with no one around Whitaker.
  17. Nice crisp receiver patterns by BC. Glenn is looking far more comfortable and his team is responding with confidence. I had taped the TO/Calgary game and even with skipping the commercials and the droning between-plays commentary, I found Rod Black grating and had to mute the TV. Cuthbert and Suitor are soooo much better.
  18. Rod Black was at the top of his game. Sad but true.
  19. What does Marsh bring to the table that Smith does not? Could this be a misdirection by Popp and Co?
  20. I don't think it's just you.... yes he's always been known as "Thick Nick" but this year he just looks plain fat and slow.... not sure he ever really got into "shape" after the injury... If you take into account their relative size, a guy like Dan Knapp is in significantly better shape than Nik Lewis Dan Knapp looks real athletic for an OL... I hope he has an supporter.......
  21. I expect blood and guts all over the field in the first quarter, and then trench warfare for the rest of the game with the Bombers sidelining Smith soon after half-time. Whomever has the best running game will win. I think the short passing game will be critical because Smith will be expecting a carnivorous pass rush from every Bomber on the field.
  22. En englais, sil vous plait.... Now I need to copy and paste your post and email it to my gf so she can translate it for me.... that's a lot of work for me Or, you could C&P the text into Google Translate- rough but understandable.
  23. I usually listen to OB's post-game show. Bob Irving has to be the best sportscaster since Don Wittman.
