  1. That would be very nice, but at this point I am not hopeful.
  2. Sunseri worse than expected, Collaros much better. And here we were all wondering why Austin and Co. were so high on Collaros. Even Hammy's O-line looks respectable.
  3. I don't think it was any distraction at all- if anything, the Bomber offense was comatose. With all due respect, I'm pretty sure Teague Sherman would know...or are you a member of the Bombers defense? The available evidence indicates that the defence played pretty much as they have for the past six weeks or so- trying hard and coming up short. So, no change.
  4. No question the break is a Godsend, but the reality is, to belabour a point, that the team was spiraling downward before all the owies hit. Since many of the usual suspects will be back in two weeks, there is no reason to expect a miraculous turnaround.
  5. So, as long as they stayed in their gaps, and made their tackles, the run defence would work….sounds about right. So, what does that tell you? I'm an O'shea fan, but this quote is like saying that if you step in front of a bus, you'll be alright if you hold your ground and don't get mushed.
  6. I don't think it was any distraction at all- if anything, the Bomber offense was comatose.
  7. Apparently Brohm has shown flashes of brilliance in the past, but yes, the price for him was pretty high. Can we foist him off on someone/anyone else?
  8. Lions may not have been able to hit 250, but I bet the Stamps will.... I wonder then If O'Shea will finally open his eyes I'm not sure Bomber fans will want to watch the Calgary game without being being heavily sedated and maybe even in restraints. All signs point to it being a painful game to watch. With 5 of the past 6 games being losses and a real possibility of Willy being out, the team morale has to be sinking rapidly and a rout will be a deathblow to any fantasies we still have about being in the playoffs.
  9. Given Brohm's ineffectiveness, I don't think he is going to be assured of an ongoing starter's role, and O'Shea shouldn't give him too much rope before pulling him in the next game. If Brohm isn't the answer at backup, we'd better find out who is.
  10. I think we really can't accurately assess Etch until we have a better D-line and middle linebacker, and the recruitment is not in his hands. How long the defence stays on the field has a lot to do with it as well- they must be starting to feel that they have to carry the load for the whole team while the offense flails around pointlessly. Can't win if you can't score.
  11. Overall, BC used the short passing game to control game and blunt the blitz (which wasn't very successful) and ran every now and again to keep the Bomber defence off balance. In the last few minutes BC ran the ball to eat up the clock and keep a very impotent Bomber offense off the field. BC executed their game plan to near-perfection and the Bombers did........nothing on offense. No longer a time for a tune-up, but an overhaul. We're about six players away from being competitive.
  12. When everyone was healthy and the wind was blowing in the right direction, we were competitive, but the margin was so thin that it didn't take much for the tide to turn. We were lulled into a false euphoria because we wanted so much to believe that we had rapidly turned the corner, but it wasn't and isn't so. We appear to be on the right track but until the gaping deficiencies in the roster are filled, we are in for a rough and downhill ride. For this year at least, the best is NOT yet to come.
  13. With that loss, we're pretty much into next year country- a month later than last year. I hope the best for Willy, but we would probably be better off if we started auditioning people.
  14. Yep, the fact that he wasn't in a sling is promising. And if that comes to pass that Willy isn't badly hurt, that will be the only good thing to come out of this game.
  15. Even with Willy behind center, we lost 4 of the previous 5 and were likely to lose all but two of the remaining games. Losing Willy for the season, if it comes to that doesn't really change the picture much- we likely to miss the playoffs again and a major overhaul in the off-season is in order. Our scouting has to get better.
  16. Lets hope its just a bruise- Willy wasn't in a sling, so maybe we'll get lucky. If he isn't badly injured, that doesn't solve the real problems- crappy D and O-line, poor line-backing, and below-par import receivers.
  17. If I had to put money on any QB in the CFL who could protect the lead, it would be Ray. If his receivers can get open he will find them- the Argos seem to have given up on the running game for the moment.
  18. Would love to see the Stamps get their butts kicked due to their arrogance.
  19. With all the hype about the Bombers being soft on the run to begin with and and now missing three starters on their front seven, might a smart BC coach anticipate that the Bomber D will be hugging the line? Then the vulnerability would be in the 10-15 yard zone with the odd fly pattern for the home run ball. Glenn may not have the arm for a 40 yard breakaway pass, but he has been darned good on the short and medium passes.
  20. And we may now not have a front 7 capable of stopping anyone.
  21. The boast makes for good media attention, but little else. Harris is one of the best running backs in the league and a darned good receiver to boot, and he has to be excited at the prospect of attacking the depleted front 7 of the Bombers. The Bombers are going to have their hands full. We are going to see if the running game is as trivial as Coach O'Shea says it is.
  22. Ford's best year with us was running for 594 and receiving 41 with a total of 3 TD's and 2 fumbles he lost. Grigsby so far has 623 yards running... 341 receiving with 9 total TD's and I believe 0 fumbles lost..... You may want to rethink your opinion on Ford. OK, Ford may not have been the best example. My point still stands that Grigsby has yet to make his bones.
  23. That's why God created caffeine- the oil which makes western civilization tick.
  24. With these DL injuries, i am concerned that our already-soft defence against the run has become completely vaporous. Barring a small miracle, Andrew Harris should have a field day, and we could be looking at a blowout.
  25. Grigsby has gotten better over time but a ways to go before being as good as Ford or others we've had. If Grigsby goes down- that shouldn't be a big deal. O'Shea says that the running game is not all that important.
