Paris Cotton moved to practice roster
Tracker replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Grigsby has gotten better over time but a ways to go before being as good as Ford or others we've had. If Grigsby goes down- that shouldn't be a big deal. O'Shea says that the running game is not all that important. -
They're both probably out shopping at.......the Pall Mall.

I am impressed by all the gooder Inglish here.

Max Power's HOT TAKE of the day: Welcome to Morning Big Green
Tracker replied to max power's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
As much as it smarted to lose three straight to the Riders, I take comfort that all three games were close enough that it (mostly) erases the shellacking we took last year, and all three could have gone either way. Although there was probably some smugness last year for Rider fans, they games were not entertaining to watch, and this year all the games were. We have resolved two keys problems from the past few years- head-coaching and quarterbacking and we have not been blown out once this year. I still have concerns about our run defence, O-line and running game, but there is no quick fix unless Billikudi suddenly becomes available and that changes our whole team. Oh yes, and our import receivers are still mediocre but did look a lot better last game. Come to think of it Corey Watson is still not hurt. -
And then there's the special sofa: Chez Lounge

The CFL East division is such a dog's breakfast that, as odd as it sounds, even Ottawa still has a shot at the playoffs even with their atrocious record.

AHA! Taman's nefarious plot has been exposed!

O'Shea was on H&L this PM. He may be whistling past the graveyard, but he was pretty definite that he didn't consider the run defence or the Bomber running game a concern.

Sunseri may not be another Durant, but he's not bad. I don't see the Riders going into a blind panic and trading for Ray or Burris, but Durant's loss is a definite blow and places Calgary head and shoulders above the rest of the league. It's going to take Sunseri a game or two to get into into the groove, so maybe that will work in the Bombers' favour as far as chasing the crossover spot. ,

In the Freep interview today, Walters says clearly that there are no major personnel changes planned, and no mouth-watering players to be announced any time soon, so the roster we see in probably the one we are going to have for the rest of the season. Good, bad or indifferent, this is it with maybe a tweak or two, so winning two of the remaining games (and Hamilton is playing better, so that one is not a gimme) is about what we can expect. There will be a lot of gnashing of teeth and wailing, but that is the price of change. Pass the Valium around.

If you want things to change you can't look the other way. Yup. Silence is complicity. -
NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
Tracker replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Both Romby Bryant and Aaron Kelly looked pretty decent as receivers on Sunday. Doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't be replaced- particularly Bryant. Kelly actually fought for the ball on a couple of occasions. -
On Saturday? Were they wearing them at the fan day or did you mean Sunday? And how do our regular jerseys look like the Argos brand? The royal blues are still our 3rd jersey. The signature ones will be worn a couple more times tops and then we will never have to look at them again (except on people who actually bought and wear them).Having said that, bring back the royal blues as the #1 jersey. And speaking of Royals, William and Kate are having another baby. This would be a more natural segue if you had linked this to Kuale screwing the Bombers on Sunday.

This confirms Dunigan's speculation some time back that the nature of Lulay's injury might well make Lulay's shoulder so unstable that even a minor impact would spell an instant replay. We may well have seen the last of Lulay- bad news for the Lions and the league.

For whatever reason, Vega was a non-factor in the Banjo Bowl and may have been better served to have been left on the shelf until 100% or close to it.
-
The Bombers missed a golden (and blue) opportunity to sell a lot of T-shirts last game if they had ones emblazoned with "I survived Banjo Bowl 2014" on them with spots where the score could be written in permanent marker- heck, even the gopher-humpers would have bought them.

NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
Tracker replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
And we were sooooo close............. -
From what I could see at the Banjo Bowl, the Bomber O-line was decent if not great, but that comes at a price. We have three imports on the line and that cripples the team's ability to use the extra import(s) elsewhere.

Mitchell Victim Of Homophobic Slur By Esks Patrick Watkins
Tracker replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The trash is supposed to be caustic enough to distract the intended victim, and there is a real thin line between that sort of thing and racism and homophobia. I would be surprised if, in this day and age, the players do not get a chat as to what is ok and what is not. -
I'm guessing that Kuale was brought in due to his CFL experience and resume-on paper he looks like he ought to be a good middle linebacker, and should be good against the run. Reality is another thing altogether. Kuale is right in one respect, though- Leggett was making too many tackles at the line of scrimmage or 5 yards in, and the linebackers were pretty consistently being swarmed by the Sask O-linemen who were blowing right through the Bomber D-line. It seemed that the Riders were second and 4 most of the game, and that opened up all kinds of options for Durant. The Bomber D-line has to bear a good deal of the blame for the success of the Rider running game, but that does not excuse Kuale's ineffectiveness and dumb penalties. The whole Bomber team took a lot of dumb penalties.

2 Games ;2 Losses; 0 Holding Calls on Riders
Tracker replied to sportmentary2012's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Willy has all the tools but not the experience as a starter- he is the least of the problems we have. Surprisingly, Romby Bryant and Aaron Kelly both earned their paycheques today but Sask has a darned good offense and defence, and the Bombers could not consistently stop the run. The loss came because because of two plays: the TD kick return Willy floating that pass right into the arms of the defender. -
I was at the game today and kept an eye on Kuale for a chunk of the time- especially when on first Sask downs when it was pretty obvious they were going to run. Kuale was consistently late to the party, frequently out of position and had little success in fending off opposing O-linemen. He has the size (230lb) and the meanness but doesn't seem to have the smarts. He is a liability to the team and if a better replacement cannot be found, the scouts should be fired.
-
Apparently they have added some 3000 temporary seats for this game. I hope we will still be in the game by the 4th quarter and will count it a minor victory if we don't get run over in the 4th quarter.

Could Elliott conceivably be worse than what they have now?
