What exactly do you want him to say? Whomever plays has to step up and make plays it is really that simple but you can't expect a coach to throw his players under the bus. I would prefer some honesty from O'Shea and have him say that the running game and run defence both are sub-par and need to get better. Pretending that all is well when pretty much everyone sees the problems is an insult to the fans. He doesn't have to throw players under the bus by naming names unless all else fails, but candor would be appreciated by fans and media- we've been fed enough BS by previous regimes.

Great. Now we have zombies in the CFL. Inevitable, I suppose.

Thaddeus Gibson 6'2, 243 pounds | Outside linebacker | Ohio State Strengths: Has very good quickness off the snap. Builds on his quickness around the edge and is a dangerous closer. Gets really low on his pass rush to move under the tackle. Works really well to the inside on stunts because of his athleticism. Can start and stop on a dime. Makes a lot of plays in the backfield. Good tackler. He's not the biggest player, but he's stronger than his size suggests. He has enough power to hold his spot on the line. Weaknesses: Will need to shift from college defensive end to pro outside linebacker. Even though he started his college career at linebacker, there may be some period of adjustment, particularly in his technique. Has already put 35 pounds onto his frame since starting college and may be maxed out. Shows some poor run recognition skills and at times looks uninterested. Bites a lot on misdirection. may struggle to learn a playbook – needed a teammate to move him to the correct gap too often. Final word: Gibson was a surprise early entrant in the draft. At this point in his development, he may purely be a pass rusher. He struggles reading run keys and is an unknown in pass coverage. He's almost exclusively a 3-4 linebacker and will need to be coached up. Translation: athletic but dumb.

Now we are getting a clear idea of the backup talent level.

Somehow, I can't see Kuale and Kromah better in any way than Wild and Kromah. Looks like its going to be a long game for the run-stoppers and the Sask O-linemen and their running backs have to be drooling. But Coach O'Shea says that he's not concerned......
-
O'Shea should be upset. No, he ought to be mad as hell- Wild was held and while he was held, Allen put a helmet into Wild as Allen went by. Sask got a TD and took the Bombers' best defender out at the same time.

Max Hall arrested for shoplifting and cocaine possession

yeah, he was probably chipping for awhile, and now we have an explanation how another talented player could flop so badly. If your bringing your works into the locker room, you're pretty far down the road. -
The Coaches' show is so full of commercials and barely intelligible callers that its not worth listening for two minutes' worth of whatever coach is there mumbling about players giving it their all and needing just a bit more focus. The only call-in show I can remember that was interesting was one where Reinbold was holding court near the end of his reign of error and all the calls coming in were real softballs until one caller was let in. He was knowledgeable and very pointed in taking a strip off the hapless Reinbold and Reinbold was completely flustered and nothing had but a couple of platitudes.

Using coke in crack form is about as hardcore as it gets, followed by mainlining. And yup, very expensive- the late Robin Williams had his struggle with the stuff and said, "Cocaine is nature's way of telling you that you have too much money." Cocaine users get to go to Hell before they die. Its that corrosive to life. -

I guess the price of nose candy is high. Too bad for the young man, but this sort of habit could have definitely affected his on-field performance. I hope he uses this wakeup call to turn his life around. -
I'm betting the number will be zero or so close to zero as to be indistinguishable from zero. What you see is what we got for the rest of the season.

Time for turd polishing! -
If we made Messam and Anthony look good, I'm scared to think what Cornish could do to us.

Despite settling for the third or maybe fourth quarterback option in the off-season, we just might have the next Ricky Ray in our fold. Now to figure out how to keep him from getting seriously killed behind that O-line. -
I am still an O'Shea supporter, but it would be encouraging for him to state publicly that a) our run defence is inadequate when it matters and we can't run the ball worth poop when it counts and further, that he and Walters are going to make some changes. O'Shea is a player's coach, I understand that, but it is close to insulting the fans for him to pretend that it will take just a couple of coaching sessions to correct these issues. This season is not about making a run for the cup, it is about improvement, and we have suffered long enough with comfortable mediocrity from the team.

Look at it this way: we have the luxury of time and endless replays and we cannot agree on the call, so how can we expect the replay staff who are under pressure to make the call in a couple of minutes to make an unquestionably correct call? I still hold to the opinion (and its just an opinion and not definitive) that we got scrooged on that call.

Seriously I thought all free perks had to count against the cap. Wouldn't it be easy to provide use of a house and car to a player and not have it count otherwise? Sask has been doing that sort of thing for years. -
Ottawa officially in freefall.
-
The last three minutes of the game yesterday offer proof that it is one of the issues. Couldn't stop the Riders when it counted, just like the last game, and there's no reason to believe the next game is going to be different. Same ingredients, same outcome.

We're going to be in trouble next weekend anyways. The deficiencies in this year's team have not changed since day one: the O-line, a smallish front seven that gets pushed around, a lousy running game, and (arguably) average import receivers. I don't see that changing this season but we'll probably make the playoffs due to such a pathetic eastern division. We aren't going to scare anyone in the western division- or Toronto for that matter. -
we see it different. The defender did not turn his head at all. It was pi no question. Screening, illegal contact take your pick. But that didn't lose us the game. The defender in question definitely made contact with his body before the ball arrived, and that's pass interference in any book. On the rider's last TD run, Wild was held, and Brackenridge was also way offside in that other critical play. The Riders may have gotten some bum calls but it sure seems to me that we got ours at game-changing moments.
-
Kuale's stats (or lack thereof) speak for themselves. He made one good play, crowed about it, and got buried the next running play. If he's the best we have at MLB, we're boned. O'Shea probably he had a redo on some of the playcalls, but 20-20 hindsight is always perfect, right? He's a rookie head coach and we're going to have to suffer through some of this. Next year will be better- we will have better horses and likely better coaching. Suck it up folks.

So close and yet so far...

Durant is supposed to not be 100%, and even when he was, he barely squeaked out a win because the Bombers gave the game away with all the turnovers. Frommy understanding,NFL camps are real grinders, and maybe that plus a long flight might make Dressler less effective than he was. I hope.
