  1. Well put. Everyone there seems to be just working 23 hours a day and making money and either planning their next vacation or their retirement in the Okanagan or Nanaimo. Not a lot of people ever put down roots in Calgary. An interesting statistic: they polled people who were working in Alberta but came from other provinces- over 70% said they would go back home given an opportunity. A very transient society, particularly in southern areas.
  2. What's Kelsey's? a Saskatchewan fine dining experience Living in Calgary you would know all about mediocre dining experiences. IMHO of course. I've only been out here for a couple of years, but I'm still searching for a really mediocre greasy breakfast joint. All the places close to me are the type of restaurants that charge $12 for eggs and have huge lineups I lived in Calgary for 10 years and that city can't compare to the Wpg. for culinary experiences other than corporate chains and the upper end. Doesn't have 1/10th as many independent burger joints or greasy spoons. Closest I found to a good greasy spoon was the Deerhead Cafe low down on Edmonton Trail in the N.W. and it wasn't great. Husky serves up a mediocre breakfast as well but nothing to compare with the Red Top, Nick's in Headingly or the old Paladin. Did they ever re-build after the fire? Problem with Calgary imo is that it doesn't have any soul. Paladin has not rebuilt and will not. The fire came shortly after the owner died and the family was not interested in the business, so it does make one wonder.
  3. Yikes! Another Rider fan- do we have to disinfect the site or ask them to go through some sort of sheep dip process?
  4. Stupid is as stupid does. Hello, Brandon Browner & Josh Gordon. You're only fooling with millions of dollars in lost salary or even your careers when you both already know the score... idiots. Are you hinting that smoking dope affects judgement? If so, we'd better make that public knowledge.
  5. So was Goltz. Division 3, versus division 1, 2nd round NFL draft pick. Hell, even on TSN last year they were saying there were reports from Bomber camp that Goltz was STILL reading defences at a division 3 level. Apples and oranges. 2nd round draft pick who lost his job to a 7th rounder. You have to be outstandingly bad for that to happen in the NFL. Or the infallible scouting system of the NFL had a brain cramp.
  6. No......not Bryant again. O'Shea and Walters have to be starting to be concerned about Moore's brittleness.
  7. We can survive without him- we have enough potheads already. You can argue with some justification that the pot suspension length is a joke when beating your girlfriend unconscious in an elevator and then dragging her out gets two freaking games' worth of suspension, but its not as if Josh didn't know or wasn't reminded. He got what he deserved and even the NFL's private police force can't save him this time around.
  8. This is what happens if you don't put chlorine into the gene pool once in awhile.
  9. Must. get. pulse . rate. down. Its going to be all right...its going to be all right....its going to be all right...
  10. Don't tease us who aren't on twitter. Post some please. Nick M. @NickMoore_1 · 1h What about those made up domestic violence stories??? BC we all know it happens Good grief. Better he should have tweeted "What about all those stupid neanderthals? We all know they're not extinct."
  11. Dressler is one heck of a player but has one heck of a price tag. I can't see paying him what seems to be the market value without financially crippling the team's ability to shore up other areas that need it. I say go after Hall and Matthews and let other teams screw themselves.
  12. Considering that Collaros looked worse than his now-sidelined backup, this is not news that will turn the Tabbies' season around. No decrease in suckage in Hamilton.
  13. Really? I listened to H&L today and didn't hear that. They must have an audio vault.
  14. FWIW- on today's H&L radio show, Lawless said he had information that Sask had dropped out of the bidding on Dressler. Apparently Taman topped out at a bit over $150,000 and is resigned to see Dressler go elsewhere.
  15. Imagine if we had kept Milt, Bruce and Geroy together? Hindsight kills me sometimes. Considering the CFL was uncapped and Bauer forced Taman to a tight budget, I doubt that being possible considering the money that guys like Khari, Roberts, Sellers, Brown, and other elite players commanded at that time. I think people forget just how loaded that team was. Bobby Gordon might have been old, but he was a favourite target of Kharis in clutch time and you don't just cut that at the drop of a hat for a young guy with potential when you have another young guy loaded with potential in Arland Bruce already on the team. Plus you still had your super star SB in Stegall and a top RB in Roberts. There was still only one football around back then. I hate the comparison now because our defensive line right now isn't nearly as stacked as our receivers were back then. Aaah, the good old days....I'm getting all teary-eyed.
  16. It may come down to the lack of genetic diversity in Saskatchewan leading to colour blindness.
  17. I thought this too, but now I'm not sure. O'Shea was very non-committal about who plays between Kromah & Kuale. He said he wouldn't announce it until they're getting on the bus to go. IMO that sounds more promising for the new guy than the guy defending his job. If O'Shea starts Kuale again, we'd better check what he's been smoking- Kromah was very good last game as were all the linebackers.
  18. Yeah 3RD...what the hell is up with that? I want to poke my eyes out. Don't blame 3Rd if you're becoming all moist and tingly.
  19. There's a decent area in Regina? Are you referring to Saskatoon?
  20. I don't know of anyone who likes them... They seem to be despised. What are you talking about? Didn't you see them televise that one guy wearing them in the stands? Don't know what you are talking about. I bought a new jersey (pre-order) and was high fiving a lot of people wearing the same jersey. PS I wasn't drunk and the other people were not in the mirrors in the washrooms. I assume that you and the other two people were in there retching?
  21. Only if everything is organic.
  22. This seems to be an epidemic this year despite the CFL resolution to protect quarterbacks.
  23. Can't disagree with any of your thoughts, but Hall would definitely be an impact player. As would Bilikudi.
  24. I'm just shocked that there was enough literacy in Saskatchewan to compose the text on the billboard- maybe they farmed that out (pun intended).
  25. i would love to see Dressler here, if only to enrage to Roughie fans. We have to have a lot more cap wriggle room than they do, and since Nic Moore isn't exactly setting records here, Dressler might inspire him to break out. Anyone else disappointed in Moore's performance? He has been injured but geez, he hasn't been much of a game-breaker.
