  1. This seems to be an epidemic this year despite the CFL resolution to protect quarterbacks.
  2. Can't disagree with any of your thoughts, but Hall would definitely be an impact player. As would Bilikudi.
  3. I'm just shocked that there was enough literacy in Saskatchewan to compose the text on the billboard- maybe they farmed that out (pun intended).
  4. i would love to see Dressler here, if only to enrage to Roughie fans. We have to have a lot more cap wriggle room than they do, and since Nic Moore isn't exactly setting records here, Dressler might inspire him to break out. Anyone else disappointed in Moore's performance? He has been injured but geez, he hasn't been much of a game-breaker.
  5. Well, it comes with its own private, individualized, outhouse. A two-storey outhouse, no doubt.
  6. All this smacks of clumsy marketing hype.
  7. Water ain't so great here either: To appreciate Winnipeg water, you have to try drinking the water in places like Phoenix, Denver, Tampa Bay and so forth.
  8. This is relevant to my interests and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. If I ever get out of "idle mode".......
  9. Walters' quoted reaction may be a negotiating ploy. I expect Hall to be in Bomber colours (whatever the hell they will be) by the weekend. No sources, just idle speculation.
  10. Neufeld is probably still adapting to being able to drink the tap water here in Winnipeg without being afraid that this is the year that all the slag from the Ipsco plant that has been dumped into pits near Regina will finally leach into the ground water wells.
  11. I'll take any advantage we can get but maybe the Riders are prepping their excuses well in advance?
  12. In reality, we got lucky. I have little doubt that had Collaros or Burris agreed, Walters and O'Shea would have been on them like a chicken on a bug. We have been the beneficiaries of Willy arriving at a time when O'Shea and Walters were at the helm and it was a good fit for all.
  13. I'm with ISO on this one. We all have sensitive spots and for some of us, including me, being called a dog-abuser is almost as low a blow as you can get. I still think that Michael Vick is barely one step above a drug dealer. We recently lost a beloved member of our family- Toby, a standard poodle at the age of 11 to bone cancer. We held him in his final moments and he licked my wife's hand as the needle went in. Few humans have that sort of unconditional love and trust.
  14. Demarco is out for the season with a torn acl. Then maybe the Ottawa thinking is to trade Burris for a prospect and a salary dump.
  15. Real beer for guys would have bacon in it.
  16. No question that Dressler would be an instant upgrade for any team in the league and money talks. Ottawa is talent-starved and would have likely won as many games with DeMarco as Burris, so why would they not make a very sweet offer to Dressler and if he accepts it, cut or trade Burris to get cap room. Montreal would probably give their first-borns to get Burris who would make them an instant contender.
  17. No. Is this about players who were dropped from our neg list because they refused to sign here? Nah, just the way we were treated by the league. Especially comments by Marcel Desjardins. I want my pound of flesh. Revenge is a dish best served cold. And maybe some nachos on the side with salsa. Also a Dos Equus.
  18. Riders looked very beatable today and were lucky to squeak out a win over BC, so we have reason to be optimistic. Can't have another fumble-fest, though.
  19. The reason why not is the shortage of Gravol and air-sickness bags.
  20. A couple of thoughts: Firstly, what infuriates fans about Grigsby are his hesitations, downs at first contact and sprints to the sidelines instead of putting his head down and getting what he can- he pretty much always loses ground on his lateral runs. Secondly, the O-line did play reasonably well against a very good Montreal D-line, but what impresses me is the dramatic drop in the sacks where a defender hits Willy after a 5 yard sprint with no one getting in the way. Any QB sack has potential for an injured QB, but the killer sacks are the ones where the QB is clobbered rather than pulled down. I still shudder remembering the shots Pierce took over the past two years where there were "lookout blocks".
  21. Willy continues to do very well for a rookie as a starter. Even last game, he did not panic and try to force the ball, and on one occasion, he was flushed out of the pocket but chose to pass rather than run. To me, that shows smarts and maturity. He came through when it mattered. He doesn't try to deflect responsibility, either- if anything he is too self-critical.
  22. Yes, but a very talented *******
  23. Nichols is probably better than anyone Montreal or Hamilton has, and Toronto seems to have made some good half-time adjustments. Go Argos (yuck)
  24. Nobody in the league has, nor ever will... A Chuck-Bob player comes along once in a very long while, but we need better than what we have now. Chris Garrett looked like a keeper but didn't last.
  25. Don't beat yourself up too badly- I would have been happy to see him signed as well. I thought he was a pretty good coach in his previous times, but he looks as lost now as Burke did in his last days. Higgins may be caught in a urinating contest between Popp and the owner(s) and with the dismal quarterbacking of the team, he may have figured out that he was boned no matter what.
