Grigsby shown he has the skill to be a RB/WR type guy so he's safe in my books, at least to be that 2nd RB. If Cotton doesn't cut it, no need to waste time. Give others the chance. Or If I'm Walters I'll make a trade for Tim Brown who's buried on the Lions depth chart. Time for Cotton to cook or get off the stove. If he isn't good enough to help the Bombers or challenge Grigsby, send him down the road.

You are right JBR. I stand corrected. I must've been thinking of his pre-season appearance for Argos against us in 2013. We lost that game 24-6 and Portis played 4th Q for Toronto, completing 4 of 5 for 67 yds. I think he ran for big yards also. Name a qb that didn't look good against the bombers in preseason last year... Or almost any other game last year.

A good idea. Anything to wake up a moribund offense.

Well, 1% improvement....why didn't they make the change sooner, for crying out loud.

The helmet looks like a computer/TV screen which is pixcellated because the signal is interrupted. Don't get me started on photo radar.

Will The Als Fire Tom Higgins If We Beat Them Friday?
Tracker replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Higgins may well wear the horns for the terrible season the Als have had so far, but nobody can win with the quality of quarterbacks they have at present. That Brink is the best quarterback they have is all on Popp, but he is probably safe until at least the end of the year. -
Kromah likely to make Bomber debut Friday

And with the exception of Muamba, none had to play behind this D-line. -
Wait 'til you see the signature reffing outfits... I like it - has all the teams colours to show there is no preferential treatment. Very positive 'feel' yet the black lines give a real sense of strength, firmness. Reebok really nailed this one. All this needs to make it work are the big shoes and the big nose.

You're right, let's trade for Eric Taylor. I love when people act like height and weight are the only determining factors in the quality of a football player, especially a linebacker.exactly Antoine Winfield was the best DB tackler in the NFL was also one of its smallest But was he playing middle linebacker taking on 320lb behemoths in heavy traffic? Doug Flutie was a great QB despite his size but he was far and away the exception. -

Great. According to Mr. Perfect, we just got smaller and lighter at middle linebacker. Just what we needed to improve our crappy run-stopping. I got a baaad feelin' about this. -

Trestman picked Chris Williams over Dressler. I'd be very surprised if Weston got another shot anywhere else when he's eventually cut from the Chiefs. Hopefully he isn't back with the Riders until after the Banjo Bowl. I wouldn't mind us taking a run at Sheets if he's released by the Raiders. Sheets has the talent but I hope his personal conduct issues are behind him.

Anderson looks promising but learning to play in the CFL would involve much different blocking schemes, so stepping in might take time. He is young and I hope he is adaptable. I really LIKE Bateman- seems very quick, not afraid of traffic, adjusts to the ball well and maybe the best asset of all,he doesn't showboat after a reception ,not even a touchdown. I didn't watch the whole 10 minutes, but he ought to block well for other receivers and running backs if he's not afraid of hitting.

Just in case you're discouraged by the last two games ...
Tracker replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
As a gesture of good faith, I have scored two tickets to the Banjo Bowl. We're doomed now. -
Well, that ought to inspire the team to go on a 12-0 run from here on.

I know he's a pretty good player but is he big enough to avoid being smothered on every running play? -
For half-time entertainment, i would like to see the Mick Jagger tribute band in England called "The Stoned Rollers" with their hit song, "Hey McLeod, get offa my ewe."
-
It looks like he has the pass blocking down, but it would have been nice to see him blocking on a few sweeps. Speed is hard to assess on the clips.

At this point, I would have to disagree. If we lose to the Als in the same manner as we lost to Sask and Toronto, that would be what- 4 losses in five game? Then its officially a serious slump. I don't think its going to be a gimme for the Bombers because many thought Toronto was a gimme because of all the injuries to their receivers, but we were boned.

How good is our offensive play calling?
Tracker replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This is the preseason. Expect the 12-8 games to resume once the season starts. Boredom ensues and only the skimpy cheerleaders outfits maintain interest. -
Should be a competitive game, but please, no 11-8 outcomes. This is the CFL not the NFL. And give all the on-field officials some Valium.
-
That ought to give Kent Austin insomnia.

The East-West tendency is a concern- don;t we have a back who does that now?

Back in the days of real grass turf & mud. He needed that towel to keep his hands dry to grip the football. Anyone here remember that semi final playoff game in 1980 at Canad Inns against the Stamps where we got about 8 inches of snow & ice Saturday & it all melted Sunday? The field turned into a quagmire of mud & slush. There was little or no traction for the players so the offenses ground to a halt. Bomber fullback Mark Bragagnolo ripped off a 90 yard run up the middle to win the game? And who says that the running game has no relevance?

Desjardins ran the Ti Cats into the ground overspending on Casey Printers. They could have used the money saved with having Glenn on other positions. As Dee & others are saying what's the point of spending $450,000 on a 40 yr old qb who has little if anything to throw to??? As stated by others, by the time the redblacks have these weapons Hank will be retired. Glenn would have given them stability & consistency at qb at about a quarter to half the price they're paying Hank now. Glenn may have not put up superstar numbers but the money saved could have been spent elsewhere & would have made the team better than they are now with Hank starting. Look for Rick Campbell to be Marcel's first sacrificial lamb before he gets the boot himself in a couple of years. What was the worst that happens with Glenn as the qb? They have a shitty record? Same as now? Desjardins with the silly notion that all you need is a big money qb. To me, Desjardins thought his team was better than it actually is. I'm quite sure he thought with Hank he might win the East. I mean, Desjardins was cocky & arrogant all off season from the Expansion Draft all the way through the CFL Combine & CFL Draft. And the shot he took at the Bomber organization saying publicly that there weren't any players good enough in the final round to take so he just picked someone randomly? A GM doesn't talk like that unless he thinks (1) he's doing a great job in his opinion & (2) he thinks he has a very good team. Yeah, he's finding out he's not so smart & his team is nowhere near as good as he figured it would be. Going the Hank route & paying huge money with a small salary cap has really handcuffed the team. They're in the same boat with Hank as they would be with Glenn. It was an extremely stupid move. Come to think of it, they would be in the same position with Brink or even Hall.
