  1. Both Mallett and Harris broke tackles last night in critical situations for lots of extra yards. Grigsby caught the pass that won us the game in Hamilton, but I still maintain that we could benefit from a back who doesn't run east-west or collapse at the first touch.
  2. No one loved Matthews when he was a head coach, but he got the job done. Austin has enough success that he's going to be given a lot of slack.
  3. Its like watching two grannies slug it out with nerf bats.
  4. There is a "law" cited by Buddhists: "Like calls to like", so it is possible that the coaches and players were both responsible along with the GM(s) for the whole magilla.
  5. Undrafted walk on to bombers camp.. Unbelievable.. Some of the stories that guys create in this league are mind blowing.. Apparently Walters was watching Lirim for the past 18 months or so, and coaching him as to what to improve and how to do it. Good on Walters.
  6. JJ is done, they just haven't pulled the sheet over his face yet.
  7. The wins are great while they last, but reality will intrude-maybe this next game, but win or lose, this team is one we can believe in and be proud of.
  8. I agree. just like when we played Edmonton both Reilly and White killed us on the ground. We need to stop both Lefevour and Gable from gaining yards and let Lefevour go through the air. Yup. If we keep LeFevour and Gable on their side of the line of scrimmage, we have the Tabbies by the short curlies. I don't think LeFevour's arm is as suspect as many think, but if the passing game is all they have, this just might be a stomping.
  9. If the CFL wanted to really develop Canadian talent, all they would have to do is subsidize the coaching at the University level to attract better coaches. The CFL, of course, doesn't have the money and if even if they somehow did, the mania surrounding college football will never be the same in Canada as it is in the Excited States, and that is probably a good thing. Universities here should rightfully focus on academics instead of athletics as a preparation for pro sports.
  10. Rice didn't just slap his fiance (who was stupid enough to go on and marry him), he knocked her unconscious in the elevator and was going to walk away leaving her sprawled on the floor, leg blocking the doors which were trying to close. Later he said "she was sorry for her part in all that and had learned a lot". I'll bet she did.
  11. How could both people (Popp and Wettenhall) get stupid at the same time? Montreal was one of the best run franchises for the past few years and suddenly its a gong show.
  12. The Bombers will have no excuse if they lose to the 'Cats. Yes, we have injuries, but so do they and their quarterback situation looks an awful lot like ours for the past couple of years. Too bad for Moore to be sidelined- I thought he came into his own last game just when I was starting to become impatient with him. I was hoping that he would look even better against the patchwork defensive backfield Hamilton has assembled. I am expecting for the Bombers to play ball control and harass LeFevour all night. And its time to see what Cotton looks like in a regular season game.
  13. Now, if only TSN could have a RodBlackectomy performed.
  14. I don't think he's worth the pixels.
  15. And humour is in the ear of the behearer.
  16. Does a bear Catholic?
  17. And the time of everyone who tries to listen. I know that OB has to make a profit, but Jeez....its really unlistenable.
  18. At least its not on the weekend- that would make it Saturday Night LeFevour.
  19. Not concerned by this at all actually. Hamilton only has six sacks so far this season. Goossen should be able to hold himself just fine. Swiston time !? You know what they say: A Swiston time saves nine (yards, that is).
  20. If and its a big "if", Lulay bounces back, maybe Wally would trade Glenn to Montreal- that would be a good fit for him, and none of the incumbents there are showing that they are the answer. The other concern is whether Lulay is injury-prone. If he is, all bets are off.
  21. I think you would remember an all Western Division or all Eastern Division Grey Cup. Some days I can't remember where I put my socks. But I'll bet you get to meet new people every day and hide your own Easter eggs.
  22. Presumably, Grigsby has these mistakes brought to his attention after each game, but he doesn't seem to get it. How do you coach a player to jump on a fumble instead of gaping at it?
  23. Take two viewings of 2013 and post again in the morning
  24. As great as it is to see the Bombers bounce back from a butt-kicking and not only play hard but win, we are still going to have a lot of ups and downs this year, and we've had a lot of ups so far. This edition is showing every sign of being resilient, and even if we don't make the playoffs, at least we can actually like and be proud of this team. Still lots of room for improvement, though- we need a receiver that scares the poop out of the opposition, a running back who can break tackles and block and an upgrade to the O-line. Then we can start talking Grey Cup.
  25. O'Shea talks to you? Who are you his wife? Funny. I asked him on the CJOB show. How did they manage to squeeze you in between commercials????
