Ok thanks. But his salary won’t count against the NHL cap, correct?
-
Active cases down 1,300, hospitalizations down 77, ICU cases down 11 with only 3 deaths. Better news all around.

So except for Perrault all those guys are Moose bound. Can someone who understands capology better than I explain the impact of Matty’s waiver? If he clears, do we need to buy out his contract if we release him? What is the cap hit then? Right now he runs us $4.125 million cap hit, and with Little going to LTIR that would free up a max. $9.4 million, if that is how it works. Long term Laine signing or new Roslovic contract in the offing with that extra cash? Any insights?

So this is repeated in the Random Jets news so comments can go there, but for the sake of the waiver wire thread where this should belong:

Remember the sway and depth that the Trump vote holds. 74 million Americans! voted for him this time, and they are essentially one issue voters - we hate Liberals. The vast majority of the 81 million who voted for Biden were likely one issue voters too - we hate Trump. That issue is now gone, so getting that 81 million vote coalition could well be tougher next time. GOP will never court the left wing vote, but are not going to ignore 74 million potential votes for themselves, regardless of how repugnant those voters may be, so they will court the extreme right wing as that is where the voters have shifted to. Dems consistently struggle with a unified voice at the polls (old guard vs. Progressives vs Bernie Bros.) and it is said that liberals in the US are still more conservative than Canadian conservatives. So when that vote gets split, a minority that is unified can outnumber a splintered majority. I honestly think if Trump ran as an Independent in 2024 he could outnumber both existing parties (at least I believed that before the insurrection, we’ll see how short memories are in 4 years’ time). So not surprising that Republicans would not disregard that sizable voting block.

Add: 6. Publicly press VP Pence to enact the 25th Amendment 7. Co-sign the Articles of Impeachment. A bi-partisan document would go a long way to unity. Following through with an actual vote to impeach in both Houses would prove you are sincere. 8. Bring a motion to expel Josh Harley and Ted Cruz from the Senate for their role in the attempt to overthrow a lawful election win. THEN we can talk.

To their limited credit, these 7 Republicans all voted in favour of certification of the contested states and did not join the GOP wave of denial. So at least they are not being hypocrites to that extent.

Lather, rinse, repeat for Goalie. Every year is apparently “make or break” year for Maurice according to you. Every year he is woefully inept and we’d be much better off without him. And yet he is still here and your argument starts with a false assertion. He has made the playoffs 4 times in 7 seasons here.

I heard on CJOB this morning that Twitter believes Trump’s presence alone accounts for 20% of their traffic and ergo it’s revenue streams. Is it any wonder they won’t ban him?

So after the dust settles on the riot,Congress got back to work and members were allowed to speak. Many addressed the violence, thanked the police for protecting them, and calls to stop the madness were common, from both parties. Then there was Matt Gaetz, Florida Republican, who had this take and felt that the immediate aftermath of the insurrection was the time to offer this nugget: And he got applause from Republicans for that. For clarity, I imagine he is referencing the Parker conspiracy that ANTIFA sent in double agents to create violence as a false flag operation and get Pro-Trumpers to take the blame, much like the accusations of Proud Boys infiltrating BLM rallies and starting violence to make the March look violent. Many cite this guy (“Horns”) as the Antifa plant since he was seen at a BLM rally earlier. Except the leader of the Proud Boys himself has identified the man as Q/MAGA and photos (once the cropping is removed) back that up. https://twitter.com/halfabubbleoff/status/1347066359914459136?s=20 https://twitter.com/Dan_Donovan_17/status/1347026444879241217?s=20

Once the Capitol is cleared, I hope all Democrats return, no matter what state the building is in, no matter what time it is, and say “let’s continue with the certification”. No delay, no excuses. Have the National Guard surround the chamber if they have to. Get Pence back in and demand that he count the votes ASAP. Sit amid the destruction - no attempt to tidy the mess - and do your job, and if a Republican (any not too chicken **** to show up) still wants to question it, hold the debate right there in the chamber, let them have their little stunt, let the Republicans fight amongst themselves for the allotted time, then quietly say “let’s vote on it”, shut it down, and move on to the next state until the certification happens. Don’t care if it takes until 10:00 am tomorrow as long as they take no breaks and show the US citizens and the world that for once they take the job seriously and are willing to plow through the night to get the job done. Show the MAGA idiots that democracy will not be intimidated, but do it amidst the ruins so the GOP can ruminate on what they have wrought.

Nope. Only one question. Why would anyone be surprised by this? This is what America is and always has been. Trump did not create this, did not even bring it out of the woodwork. It is the anti-Trumpers who were pushed to speak out to a segment of society that was finally ready to listen and shone a light on what was always there, the racism, the police brutality, the murder of African Americans at the hands of law enforcement. The white privilege. The selfishness, arrogance, and stupidity of America.
-
So to clarify from what Twitter is now saying, it was in fact Pence and not Trump who authorized the sending in of the DC National Guard (unless you believe Kayleigh McEnamy’s version that it was Trump - so hard to know who to believe). Since he was rushed from the scene of the riot in a panic, he probably had a better feel for the situation.
-
So the National Guard for DC is one the way. Could only be deployed by the Dept. of Defence on Trump’s say so. The original request was denied. But the Governors of States can authorize it as well, which is what the Governors of Maryland and Virginia did. Only once they mobilized did Trump flip and order the DC guard to activate as well. Didn’t want to be shown up by actual leaders taking action. When asked why the DC National Guard was not being deployed, someone was quoted as saying the “optics” of having the troops at the Capitol would look bad. Take another look at the picture above and ask why it was not an issue when BLM had its protests, which never got near the Capitol steps. Then look at pictures of the domestic terrorists (don’t call them protesters) storming the building with Confederate flags - somethig that was not even achieved during the Civil War - ripping down American flags and replacing them with Trump flags, attacking police, smashing windows, or breaking into Senators’ offices and looting the place, and ask how those optics look? To be fair to those folks, the mayor had requested National Guard assistance ahead of time and was denied by the DOD, and the Capitol police and WPD were out in force, but were overmatched. I won’t speak for those individual officers who did nothing or took selfies.

At some point you have to make the defence fear your arm if you want to have success running the ball as a QB. Hill has shown enough to be a viable threat. Streveler has not done that even in his time in the CFL. His success here in the short term was largely based on having Harris and Demski as viable options out of the backfield so teams could not just key on him on random plays. That credit goes to LaPolice despite many not wanting to give that due credit. When Streveler became the full time starter after Nichols’ injury, teams got wise by spying him and forcing him to beat them with his passing. For the most part, he was unsuccessful and that is why they rushed in Collaros to save the season. The question is will he become a Turner Gill who shows that he has no real talent as a QB and is a glorified runner who can throw a ball but does not have the mental skill set to pick apart a defence, or does he become a Henry Burris or Tracy Ham who learns the passing game and evolves out of the “gimmick running QB” mould to become a mobile passer? -

A healthy Kyler Murray would have made a huge difference. Him in playing against Watford and I say the Cards win -

When that one leg also includes an arm and the ability to read an NFL defence, absolutely. -

He’s a 23 year old kid with $14 million guaranteed in the bank and a lifetime of being protected and coddled as a star athlete from high school through college whose destiny from an early age was to be a pro football player. Doesn’t make him stupid or a bozo. Pro athletes live in a very different world than the average fan. Frankly, I’d be more surprised if I heard that he WASN’T snorting cocaine off a hooker’s ass on a daily basis. Even if he never plays another down in his life, he’s already made out better financially then I ever will, and I’ve been working 35 years. -

According to TSN, the Germans were given the option of rescheduling their initial games once the COVID outbreak hit. They chose to keep the games as they were. The rationale was that they were going to lose these 2 games anyway, so the scores don’t matter, and they would rather get their full compliment back for the games that matter to them against the Swiss and the Slovaks to try and crack the playoffs. I was literally typing my response at the same time. You are just faster on the send button. 🤣 -
I was given the option of getting a 90th anniversary ring from the club, personalized and only 90 maximum were to be made. Absolutely love it.
-
How big are the replica rings? Can they actually be worn, or just displayed?
