  1. So you’re saying roster management will be a non-factor on if we lose? 😉
  2. Texas nachos.
  3. The Bombers technically did 7 in a row, in games they were allowed to appear in. They were in the Cup in 1937, 38, and 39 (won that year), would have gone in 1940 but for being banned by Rugby Union rules (they won the West championship again that season), went back in 1941 (won), season cancelled due to WW2 from 1942-44 (although the RCAF Bombers played in 1942 and 43), and then they appeared in 1945,46, and 47.
  4. Great point by Greg Mackling I think in the pre-game show that BC started 6-1 and played the Taylor Cornelius Elks twice, building their “Donut Boys” image against that hapless team with 2 shutouts. At that point they were giving up 13.4 points against. Then they got walloped in Winnipeg, which was the first step in a 6-5 finish and a defence that gave up an average of 31.3 points a game. The Donut Boys were full of holes and this “best team” was a myth, buoyed by fancy sack totals and fat passing numbers.
  5. I’m looking forward to this week’s Grey Cup game in Hamilton, that’s for sure.
  6. 3 straight first place finishes, 4 Grey Cup appearances in a row - not epic apparently. I’ll take “just fine” if that is the standard.
  7. And be patient (that goes for fans too). 8 times this year Bombers were trailing, tied, or had at best a 3 point lead at the half, and went on to win the game by more than a TD. This is a defence that feels out it’s opponents on the first half and then locks down second half, and bully ball grinds out the 4th quarter with a lead. Not my favorite way to see a win, but a close game early does not necessarily spell trouble. Don’t abandon the run if behind in the first half.
  8. Rose has been exposed in the last few games. Playing way off, has been in chase mode on more than a few passes, and has been straight-armed by receivers a few times when trying to tackle. Not sure Houston is the answer with his gambling style, because he leaves us open to the big play against, but Rose being out is not the worst decision, even if surprising, IMO
  9. More reliable than a Swiss train conductor. Here is the big question after the roster came out - barring injury, has Winston Rose played his last game as a Bomber?
  10. When you find a better position than first place, let me know. I trust O’Shea.
  11. Nice to see the fans in TO packing the park as best they can. Enjoy the day tomorrow. The anticipation here is peaking too!
  12. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
  13. Me at work watching the clock waiting for tomorrow to come: The clock:
  14. I nominate this song in honour of the stripes tonight
  15. Love it. Bit of a middle finger to some of the MBB naysayers spouting doom and gloom too.
  16. I know, but the announced attendance for a sellout only dropped this season, and my mind was still working off what I had heard since 2015 was a sellout. Hodge’s tweet they the club was mid-identifying the sellout capacity in past years clears that up.
  17. Merci. Man, if you can’t trust the internet………..
  18. They did make the renos a few years ago to add the north end standing room decks, but still got 33,234 in the stands for a sellout before this season, down from the 33,500 in the first couple of years. Not sure why this year a sellout is recorded at 32,343. Anyone know what changed in the stadium layout this year? Or was standing room ticket availability reduced because of a fire marshall ruling or something?
  19. Going off the cfldb website, this is what it says: 2013-2016 capacity is listed at 33,422. 2017-present capacity is listed at 33,022. In 2013 in our inaugural game we had 33,500 listed as the attendance. We got there again in that year’s Banjo Bowl. So I regarded that number as a full sellout. 2014 two announced sellouts, both against the Riders. Attendance recorded as 33,234, so that appeared to be the new sellout number. 2015 Banjo Bowl was the only sellout, at 35,156 due to the expanded Grey Cup seating in place. That is the IG Field record for a Bomber game (all-time stadium record is 36,634 for that year’s Grey Cup). 2016 again Banjo Bowl is only announced sellout at 33,234. 2017 despite the supposed reduction in seating capacity by 400, the Banjo Bowl sellout records an attendance of 33,134. Only sellout that year. This exact scenario and numbers are recorded in 2018 and 2019. 2021 Banjo Bowl only sellout at 33,234. 2022 back-to-back sellouts for Rider games, recorded as 33,234. 2023 4 announced sellouts (and counting, hopefully) and they are recorded as 32,344 at the Banjo Bowl and 32,343 at the next 3, despite the official capacity still being listed at 33,022 still. So I guess the official “sellout” mark is now 32,343, having changed this year (not sure what renos were done to reduce capacity). Looks like the 1987 record is safe until 2025 at least.
  20. My bad, you are correct. Good catch. That season the capacity was 29,530 and we had 7 recorded sellouts.
  21. Going back to 1972, the club has had 3 announced playoff sellouts, and 2 complete sellouts. 1981 West semi-final vs BC 32,936 (capacity 32,946) lost 15-11 1987 East final vs Tor 32,946 (capacity 32,946) lost 19-3 2001 East final vs Ham 29,503 (capacity 29,503) won 28-13 The Toronto game is the club record for a playoff game. If we sell out this game, we will set a new record at 33,236. According to Ticketmaster we have just under 1,000 tickets available. If their numbers are accurate, we will set a new IG Field playoff record this year, surpassing the 31,160 set in 2021 vs Saskatchewan. Source for all figures is www.cfldb.ca
  22. Nice going @DTonOB. After that last tweet, Booch is going to have to clean his keyboard.
  23. I was worried when O’Shea declared him out for the Edmonton game on the first day back at practice. Calling it that definitively that early told me this was long term, given how cagey he is usually about the injury list.
  24. As JBR himself said, the “Walters to Hamilton” part was speculation on his part.
  25. Most complete victory of the year so far.
