Could be. 8 of 9 on the road but only one team in a playoff position on that list (or 2 percentage-wise if you count Pitt).

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
TrueBlue4ever replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Exactly what has happened. And you know the famous quote: ”When the legend becomes fact, print the legend”. -
Not quite that drastic. One person can call for a vote of non-confidence to oust him, but the majority of congress has to then vote him out. Previously the mere motion had to be agreed upon by the majority.
-
The only way to speed this up is to start eliminating the candidate with the lowest number of votes from further ballots. And have anyone nominated declare if they accept the nomination. That avoids all 222 Republicans from cycling through. Then the 20 dissidents ultimately have to vote for McCarthy, choose Jeffries if they really don’t want McCarthy, or nominate a viable candidate to get to 218 rather than just obstructing.

Wheeler back already? Dude is one tough beast.

So it turns out it was Renner’s own plow, a fairly sizeable Sno-Cat. He was clearing his private driveway and going to help out neighbours as well. He got out of the plow and at some point it started to roll away. He was injured when he tried to jump back into the moving unoccupied plow to re-gain control over it, according to his own story.

11. Not that I’m counting for a friend.

Jordan gets a 20th vote on the 3rd ballot with votes still to come in. Support for McCarthy now eroding.
-
Speculation is that Jim Jordan’s support could grow in the 3rd ballot. So between him and McCarthy (if those are the only two choices) who would Dems rather see? Jordan doesn’t want it because he wants to head the Judiciary committee. Quite possibly to muzzle investigations against himself since his bid for a pardon failed.
-
Dems could just ride it out and maybe some hard core Republicans vote “present” which reduces the number need for the majority. If 11 of the 19 GOP holdouts vote that way Jeffries could actually win with his 212 votes. At least one GOP voter is prepared to let that happen just to make sure McCarthy never gets voted in
-
Why isn’t the lowest vote total eliminated in the next round of voting?
-
First time the speaker vote has gone past the first ballot since 1923, and only the second time since the (last) Civil War. So who would the Dems vote for from the Republican side if they could force things that way?

Started a new thread for 2023. Maybe we could lock this one since the year is over?

JT Miller is this year’s Mark Scheifele.

Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, MTG, and Gym Jordan would all like a word. DeSantis is worrying to me in that while Trump spouted nonsense because it’s what the base wanted to hear and it inflated his ego to have those followers at his rallies, DeSantis actually believes his agenda. Trump wanted power for power’s sake, just to line his own pockets. DeSantis really wants the “dumb them down, anti-science, 1930’s school education” mindset to take hold. Trump exposed that there are still a ton of segregation-era thinkers out there, DeSantis seems to have galvanized them in Florida and is immensely popular and ruthlessly effective in that state in implementing his mandate. That groundswell of popularity I fear could easily spread throughout the entire Republican US.

DeSantis, anyone?

Here’s a comprehensive list for the entire year. https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/09/entertainment/gallery/people-we-lost-2022/index.html

Fair enough. I don’t mind her. And some of the replacements this year have been off-key. But to each their own.

Specifics? Tone, pitch, volume, key in which she sings?

So this MMA fighter tries to troll Thunberg, and after she destroys him about as badly as you can on Twitter, he stews for about 10 hours before responding back with her catch phrase “How dare you” which is the internet equivalent of “I know you are but what am I”. Cue the Twitter-verse responding en masse with “bro, take the L” comeuppance for him, after he basically confirmed his “small **** energy” and snowflake status by trying to fight back against Greta’s wicked burn. And when you think it couldn’t get any better, turns out this guy is actually a horrible human being involved in sexual trafficking young girls, and police were looking for him. And in his attempt at a face-saving comeback post, he was seen with a pizza box (complete with his name and phone number visible on it) in his livestream tweet that allowed the local Romanian authorities to track his location and place him under arrest. Rian Johnson couldn’t write this stuff.

Can people explain what it is about Nattress they hate? She holds a tune, unlike some this year. Is it because she sings so high? She is a soprano after all.
