  1. I’ve lost count, but what number is higher- the number of times someone has floated a date for TFG’s reinstatement since his election defeat, or the number of times Majorie Taylor Greene has filed articles of impeachment against Joe Biden in the House? Both numbers are over 10 times each.
  2. And no NFL team will touch him if he is under contract to another team. He comes here and he is off the NFL radar until their next off-season, if at all.
  3. It’s not about stupidity in that sense. It’s really more about gullibility, and it’s not really a Trump thing. It’s more about “owning the Libs”, Trump is just the convenient figurehead at the moment and can be replaced by DeSantis, just like Trump replaced McConnell. And the Democrats have joined the fray. It isn’t about what your side’s policies are, it’s about what you believe the other side’s agenda is and labelling it “the boogeyman”. Elections now are really pretty much one-issue votes: “How do you keep the other side out of power?” Whatever their platform is. For Dems, you attach women’s reproductive rights, vote-rigging, fascism, destroying democracy, and unfair lying politics to the other side and say “bad” without offering an agenda other than “we can’t allow that to happen”. Republicans scream “socialist communism”, “crime ridden cities” and “border crisis” and attach it to Dems, and say “bad” without offering an agenda other than “we can’t allow this to happen”. And gullible people, without really believing the mouthpieces that spew this, buy into the concept of the rhetoric to support their fear of “other” and find a scapegoat for their own failings.
  4. This “Wheeler asked for a trade” rumour needs to be buried. He did not explicitly ask for a trade. Find me a hard quote that says otherwise, and I will re-consider. But I’ve asked before and the goalposts moved to “well, it’s easy to speculate that he did”. Fact is the club admitted they were looking for trade partners for him. This was club-led, not player-led. Since he has a limited no-trade now he would be required to provide a list. That does not mean he “asked” for a trade. It means he was consulted (as required per his contract) about which teams he would accept a trade to if the team wanted to move him. Once the club found no suitable trade partners, they backed off. Was Wheeler left disillusioned by all this and then looking to get out? It certainly crossed his mind, which is understandable and which he openly said. But here is his direct quote on the trade stuff, and take it or leave it, it is the only hard evidence with this stance on “asking for a trade” I have seen anywhere (courtesy CTV): The Jets failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs last season, which led to much speculation about their future. That included a discussion about trading Wheeler, who has two seasons left on a five-year deal with a yearly cap hit of US$8.25 million. "I think, yeah, when you have a down season, you're going to have to have those conversations," said the 36-year-old Wheeler. "I've been here 11 years and you'd be crazy not to look in the mirror at yourself, and then, also look at an 11-year relationship and say, `Is this still in our best interest going forward?' "Ultimately, we made the determination that it is, so here I am." That last line is the opposite of “I asked to be traded”. Is this splitting hairs? I would argue it is an important distinction between what he said and what the likes of Trouba, Laine (through his agent), or Kane said publicly about not wanting to be here. He should not be portrayed as a guy who wants out.
  5. District 11 Appeals court, with 2 Trump appointees presiding in its 3 person panel, overturned Judge Cannon’s order that the DOJ cannot continue it’s criminal investigation of Trump while the special master reviews the documents. One more delay tactic shot down (pending an appeal to SCOTUS if Trump’s team goes that route).
  6. If you go to the top right corner of the forum there are 3 lines (next to the MBB banner). Click on that and you will see the bell (notifications) and envelope (PM’s). Click on the envelope to open your messages. At the bottom of the messages is “go to inbox”. Click that and you will get a list of all your message threads. Click on the box next to the message to “highlight it” (a check mark will appear) and at the bottom of the screen there will be a trash can option to delete the secret message thread. This is how you delete the PM’s. Or you could just meme this to Speedflex and maybe he’ll get the hint: I kid, I kid! 🤣
  7. Pirates up 8-4 after scoring 3 in the 9th. Judge leads off with number 60 then 3 straight singles before Stanton hits a walk-off grand slam with no outs recorded. Pirates are dreadful and that keeps the Blue Jays 5.5 games out.
  8. Here is the whole story for anyone who doesn’t remember the context of the shove.
  9. Best known as “Mad Eye” Moody from Harry Potter. Also was Mel Gibson’s friend Hamish in Braveheart, the general in “Edge of Tomorrow”, and played Donald Trump in “The Comey Rule”
  10. Here’s a hardly exhaustive list of teammate fights in practice. Also there was an intrasquad fight between the Jets and Redskins a few years ago. So this is hardly a never before seen occurrence. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2551619-when-teammates-attack-the-most-serious-intrasquad-fights.amp.html There have even been tunnel fights between squads before a game, and who can forget the pre-game brawl between the Flyers and Canadiens over shooting pucks into the opposing team net. One last thing, although everyone is calling it a sucker punch (largely due to Farhan Lalji saying as much in the first tweet about the incident) that account has been disputed by another media member who saw both parties squaring off to fight from their vantage point. Who really knows what the absolute truth is without video? But Lucky showing up postgame wearing a silly propeller beanie and running his mouth about a player’s mother makes him seem somewhat foolish himself. Not necessarily punch-worthy, but just maybe he FAFO. Would want to hear the full story from a neutral 3rd party before casting final judgement.
  11. What then to do with the Lions who had more time to think about things before challenging the Stamps in the parking lot after the game, forcing the police to intervene?
  12. Was going to say this. It is a product of trying to extend plays, which Collaros is better than any QB on the league at doing. So he won’t tuck and protect the ball. Nichols was the opposite, he would eat a sack or throw lots out of bounds rather than forcing a play, because he knew his limitations in mobility and didn’t want to force a turnover. Each method worked for the skill set of the particular QB.
  13. Good that he got there in time. An event not to be missed.
  14. Shame he wasn’t with his wife to celebrate the birth. JMO.
  15. May be time to each name 3, one offence one defence, one ST. Most right wins.
  16. For us to clinch first, we need a combination of wins and BC losses totalling 4 (or 3 if we win one of the head-to-head games with them). Bombers clinch first if they win all 3 of their remaining home games. If they split their games with BC, then the Lions need to win all of their other games and the Bombers need to lose all of theirs (and the Bombers have both Edmonton and Saskatchewan at home).
  17. Except when you can spin it as “I have to protect myself from the deep state trying to sabotage me in their quest for power, I’m being persecuted, unfair lies and fraud from the other side, blah, blah, blah” and your brainwashed masses buy that excuse because that’s all they’ve heard and believed for the past 6 years.
  18. Week 16 update: this week’s playoff clinching scenarios - Winnipeg: has clinched a West playoff spot. Can clinch a home playoff game this week with a Calgary loss. BC: Can clinch a West playoff spot with a win. Can clinch a crossover playoff spot with losses by both Hamilton and Ottawa. Calgary: Can clinch a crossover playoff spot with a win AND losses by both Hamilton and Ottawa. Saskatchewan: No clinching scenarios this week. Edmonton: No elimination scenarios this week. There are no East crossover possibilities. Toronto: Can clinch 3rd in the East win a win. Can clinch 2nd in the East and a home playoff game with a win and a loss by Hamilton. Montreal: No clinching scenarios this week Hamilton: Can finish no better than 2nd in the East if they lose and Toronto wins this week. Ottawa: Can finish no better than 2nd in the East if they lose this week.
  19. I would like to see the Bombers not play to the level of their opponent today and show more of what we saw in BC and the Banjo Bowl. I would also like to see us stop the run better. Most importantly, I would like to see no injuries today.
  20. There is no point trying to debate this with TBurg. He will continue to incite and troll on this “don’t blow the whistle early on a fumble that no one thought was a fumble” rant, and will double-down with less and less logic to keep the nonsense going for his own bemusement. Let’s simply respond with this and move on.
  21. The coach who said it was unwarranted is still here.
