Your last sentence is intriguing. I’m thinking/guessing if Winnipeg didn’t sign him that might have prompted his retirement not giving any chance for other teams to pick him up as I’m assuming he wouldn’t want to play for any other team than the BB. However if JT just wanted to continue to play football and put his services on the market, who’s picking him up? -

I thought you knowing deep down that your team really does suck no matter records, trophies etc would be a constant challenge with your blood pressure. Love you. -

To quote Charlie Brown, good grief. Whether you're intending to or not, posts like this come across to some as over the top, patronizing and condescending to people who are just trying to have some fun with each other on a sport issue that is a far second to the real priorities in life. You could take what you've written here and use it every time to respond to someone questioning something (small, medium, big) about our beloved WBB organization. Just shut this site down, no more discussion needed. Be off with you, you internet trolls. -

This is a perfect example that JT the person is not a joke, he's a great guy by all accounts who has accomplished a lot in the CFL. It's not that he's dogging it, that he's underperforming where if he put more effort in and tweaked something he'd perform to the standards needed. He literally just can't no matter what his brain is telling him. Every professional athlete goes thru that sooner than they want it to unless you're a freak of nature like Brady or something. Now that I've written this watch JT come out this season and prove he fits into that freak mode and light it up. Fingers crossed. 🙂 -

If I'm remembering correctly, back in the day your punter and placekicker needed to be CDN to help with the ratio. Now, nope, it would be nice, but nope doesn't have to be. Same with dtackle, doesn't have to be CDN, can be, but doesn't have to be. -
That's not far off from reality with some players.

This feels like a trick question. Ummm maybe ask our scouting department? I'm assuming there is potential/suitable nose tackle type players in the pipeline to evaluate at training camp? What an odd question you pose. As well your fourth point I bolded is so off the mark if you've been actually reading most people's posts about JT. We all love him, we love what he's accomplished both on and off the field but like all professional athletes his time has come and gone but of course you come in hot and label it as anti-Thomas sentiments with no context given at all. -

We've seen in BB land that training camp has different meanings depending on the player who you are talking about. In JT's case, training camp is more 'try out my new comedy material' while some players work their ass showing they're ready for prime time but with no chance of winning that starting/rotational position cuz that funny guy over there has earned whatever he wants to do regardless of anything else.. -

We're literally at the point where he's taking a job away from a more suited candidate. Sends mixed messages in the locker room. -

For sure when I rationally think about you’re right with your points but the Argos with their back up qb gross. -

They both hurt but for me the Arbuckle one, maaaaaaan, and the fact losing to the Argos, maaaaaan. -
It was good Canada went with character but now finding they may have minimized the importance of melding that with offensive power.

Oh my goodness, I'm finding myself defending KG. To get yourself/the team to the big game, you/team gotta win games unless your name is Arbuckle. So yes when it ultimately mattered (i.e., winning the championship game, he faltered sans broken arm but no he did fairly well over his career helping his team win games. For most things in life, nuances are in play when observing/judging something. -

I'm looking at his full body of work as a whole, from start to finish, not just near the end of his career. With this lens to say he always fell short is debatable depending on the KPI's one is using. -

Isn't one way (not the only one) to attract talent is longer term contracts (i.e., longer then 1 year) knowing there is a risk? This trend of seeing more and more 1 year extensions is interesting. Or has stability gone the way of the dodo bird? -

If this is true how does it reconcile with some posters here saying our current stable of back-up QB's in the near future won't see the field (sans short yardage) as long as MOS is head coach? Whether its CS or our existing talent or someone else, we need a competent back-up QB that MOS can deploy if ZC is really struggling that forces his hand to put in his back-up trumping this earned it loyal approach, hurt feelings. I love loyalty, I love respect, I love earned it, I love that player has given so much to this organization, I think they have become very underappreciated values but it does with some at times need be balanced with reality of what's going in that current moment of time especially in professional sports. -

Being greedy, wish it was for at least 2 years but will take it. -
I was thinking/hoping the same thing but then read the article, he’s 71 and wants to retire. Good on him and many years of happy retirement. Oh and it feels weird that Tom Clements is 71, it feels like yesterday where him and Huff were the best 2 qb tandem in the league ever and continue to hold that mantel today imo.
