You're entitled to your opinions inside your own head. But if you choose to express them out in the world, it's your responsibility to: (1) Ground them in logic and facts (2) Explain your reasoning to others (3) Change them when better evidence emerges. Adam Grant

@JuranBoldenRules What's your take on the Elks? You know wayyyyyy more than I do obviously on the ins and outs of professional football but I don't see a 500 club, I see below that and another wholesale change a coming. For the health of the league sure hope I'm wrong. -

First sentence third paragraph is bang on. To the point and very informed by facts. Tax cuts benefits who the most sorry?
-
Yup I'd suggest this might be a great example that this isn't 'another side to find the middle ground' type discussion.

Wow to your last sentence.

Clearly the fault of Notley.

I’m thinking Jets don’t market to the individual, they market to corporations. The Bombers on the other hand probably balance the two sides a lot more.

Based on your online name, the real season ain’t going to do anything about that and I’m right there with you. Until that final whistle goes, all bets are off. -
A not well thought out approach to this complex issue: this is bullshit, it doesn't work, they should be forced into treatment or go to jail, why should my tax dollars go to brain-dead zombies, the results are in (to quote PP) here's a link from the National Post. The truth hurts. Let's think this thru as best we can approach: We need to do something from an evidence informed point of view. Look at this holistically bringing many environmental resources and experts together. We need to do a thorough scan and learn from other countries in how they have approached this. We know we will have our own uniquenesses and nuances to deal with that aren't a perfect fit with other countries approaches. There are limitations and growing pains in this evidence informed approach , some fiscal challenges but it will continue to get us to a better spot (see bolded part). My intention is not to mock, I'm using actual words people use to highlight the different approaches in how complex serious issues are thought thru and how sometimes opinions are presented as facts.

Or let him stand on the sidelines and wreak havoc. -
I come in hot on a discussion board with a lot of gaps and misunderstandings with my thinking presented as fact and suggest to people why don't they just look around and ask others because a vast majority of people are thinking what I'm thinking therefore it's the truth and it hurts. People push back with facts and complexities missed in my thinking and understandings, I deploy the victim strategy with mocking overtones. Rinse, repeat.

You're the perfect 'there there, everything is going to be alriiiight'. 🙂 -
I agree. I guess the constant challenge in this world of ours in adopting this ideal yet blanket approach you nicely articulate is sometimes the "other side" is not even a side. This would be a fantastic discussion to have in and of itself. What determines that something is a side to be mixed with other sides to be brought to the middle together and what determines nope not getting a seat around the table with that absurdness. I think @blue_gold_84 called it the paradox of tolerance. I think the nuance here I'm getting at is it's more than tolerance, it's actually knowing when we all need to flex a bit to get to the middle not just tolerating each other to ultimately achieve that goal of constantly bettering society as a whole.. Presenting something as a perspective, as an opinion, as another lens that has no basis in fact, no basis in reality, no basis in being a well thought out perspective is not 'another side'. This is not unique to any type of person/group. Overtime we've all been guilty of doing this with varying levels of severity and negative impact but I would argue some people, some groups are way more consistent in presenting something as an 'another side' 'another lens', 'another perspective' when in fact it's not, it's simply just absurdness with clear motives to achieve some nefarious objective. Just my 2c

Excerpt taken from a story by Fatma Khaled Newsweek quoting Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (bolded part my doing): "We asked for the document a month ago. It's been subpoenaed and he [FBI Director Christopher Wray] ought to respond to a...subpoena," he said. "We're doing the constitutional job of oversight. I have read that document...and as an unclassified document, he admits it exists. And we aren't interested in whether or not the accusations against Vice President Biden are accurate or not. We're responsible for making sure the FBI does its job." Doing their constitutional job? Sure, let's go with that.

I assume that kid was signed immediately after this.

Nope not really saying that. Just saying imho Chevy might want to start off every press conference (and maybe he does my apologies) saying something like, "look ultimately we are trying to bring a cup to Winnipeg and that takes hard smart work. So let's look at how far we've come, some of the things we need to get better at and where we still have to go for that to happen. Then he can go into his usual we're better than you think we are stance.
-
Difference being this is not at the GM level, Maurice wasn’t fired, he resigned. Not to mention the fact didn’t they go hard for Trotz not to mention the fact Bowness is no slouch himself. When’s the last time we heard Chevy wants to bring the cup to Winnipeg? If he says this regularly in his press conferences that’s great because that’s ultimately what his job is to do.

If I can't grandstand if front of people so I can throw out gotcha's and red meat filled with catch phrases quoting authors from my reading list for the non critical thinkers who are unable to understand problems are sometimes simple, sometimes complicated, sometimes complex and sometimes wicked, what else is there to do?
