  1. If this public health measure (not forced, had a choice to take it or not) that was trying to keep up with this ever evolving pandemic which we are still learning about it till this day (that's how science works) was so diabolical and had socially responsible people hoping unvaccinated people would die (Citation, 'I heard') then make it a platform for all of us to see.
  2. In specific cases, it's not about denouncing people who aren't progressive enough. It's about what we can tolerate (each will have their list) and what we can't tolerate (each will have their list). That's education in itself.
  3. Even people like Ted Cruz, MGT, LB and MG could randomly shoot someone (as long as they weren't a white maga)in broad daylight and it wouldn't even make a dent in how Magats feel. In fact, it would probably embolden them even more and might actually pick up a few extra supporters.
  4. We're all in didn't even get them past the first round.
  5. What you say is fact and well documented since he was born basically. What fascinates me is how his approach has trickled down into forums like this on the world wide web. Outright lying, distorting information to seed doubt and gaslighting to get a charge out of well meaning regular folk from all walks of life coming from many different types of political ideologies does not mean you're playing Devils advocate and not to be taken seriously. Responding to these the outlandish claims that have no evidence to back it up is not being tired and embarrassing. But here we are with a few who cryptically cast everyone as embarrassing and all equally bad because someone comes in hot with drivel. That makes me sad and that's what I'm seeing from my perch. You want to talk about being tired and embarrassed in what we now tolerate and what we don't tolerate, that's where I'm at.
  6. Here, I'll play Mother Hen for once. Doesn't the title of this thread begin with 'Don't Look Back? Back to enjoying this conversation. ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. I believe it was the Stumpeders a couple of years back went for a lot of 2 point converts. If you have the offence to execute, why not?
  8. A surreal thought came over me walking the dog the other day that because a lunatic thought to himself 'I want that' has lead to enormous amounts of death, despair and destruction.
  9. Based on his actions to date, seems to be the wrong guy for the job.
  10. And the US Legal system response? It's just entertainment not to believed.
  11. The proven cost effective approach, seeding doubt with lies, half truths, information with no context with little to no consequences other than blue checker twitter shame and call out.
  12. Fantastic question that is always interesting to discuss. For me the most appropriate answer and following thru on it takes consistent discipline to help enact the primary goal, which is usually is keep it civil, keep it relevant, keep it interesting and meaningful for all. Because if you do react with some heat (humor, sarcasm, anger etc that I've been guilty of using on many occasions over the years since 2013) to people who confess that they get a charge out of riling others up in not a fun or beneficial way than you than run a high risk of being assessed with the same label as them. When to be tolerant, when to ignore and when not to be tolerant and something needs to be said and how does that fit into civil discourse, crucial conversations etc will conjure up many differing and varying perspectives. And this is just my perspective.
  13. Certain well known gaslighters come in hot spewing absurdness, people react accordingly, gaslighter predictably says echo chamber just helping out canโ€™t we all be civil, enter Rich. Rinse, repeat.
  14. Self identified Gaslighter who spews absurdness to get a charge out of people says what? Whatever floats your boat.
  15. Ask our local devils advocate poster, he'll let you know it's actually not so deranged because all politicians are equally bad, he'll insinuate you are only offering a one sided thought but take what he says with a grain of salt ending with a lol.
  16. But Biden! F Trudeau! Pseudo Criminals! Oh I'm just playing Devils advocate cuz you all just talk in your echo chambers of pretty one-sided thoughts. Take all of this with a grain of salt. lol. I'm clever.
  17. From the Edmonton Sun, letter to the Editor: 'I think it is time for Edmonton voters to correct their voting choices. For years Edmonton was the ONLY place in the province where you could vote communist. Now we have many Edmonton voters who choose to vote socialist. There is only one taxpayer. Voting for the NDP will only bankrupt Alberta. The time has come to retire Notley and her destructive NDP spenders. I believe the UCP under Smith will do great things for Edmonton and all Albertans. Next on the agenda for Edmonton voters will be to get rid of the Liberal Sohi and his bike riding council. Oh and by the way, once Ontario and Toronto voters quit voting Liberal, Albertans will remove the curse put on the Toronto Maple Leafs'. Ken Iskiw A great example of critical thinking, healthy skepticism and just another view point to add to the discussion on who will provide a sound mandate to help all Albertans. C'mon bro.
  18. Q: Okay, now what? A: Nothing. Follow-up by SCOTUS: How dare anyone question our integrity. We are going down a very dangerous path when questioning this body.
  19. Nope disagree. I've come around on this one. In some cases even when a player has his head up (hockey, football as examples), it still puts him in a vulnerable position with limited ability to avoid being blown up and risking serious head (and other) injury. In football, rules changed as my boy played to now penalizing predatory hits even if they were technically legal before. e.g., A few years back my boy was flagged on a play for blowing up a defender that was locked on the player with the ball. The players head was up but didn't matter he was lasered focused on the player he was going to tackle and was in a complete vulnerable position that my boy chose to blow him up. Penalty warranted. I'm sure someone a lot smarter than me could cite a comparable hockey example. This predatory rule has not translated into the pro leagues yet as far as I know. This is the primary reason my boy chose to hang up his cleats at the end of this past season. He told me he was tired of being sore after every practice and more importantly he doesn't want to be dealing with CTE as he ages into adulthood. Pretty good reason we need things in place like this predatory rule for minimizing longer term effects and to help recruit and keep athletes playing.
  20. His last paragraph is the best: 'It is possible, of course, to make a play on the puck or the player, especially one who doesnโ€™t see you coming, without blowing them up. Wherever the league ultimately wants to draw the line on such hits, it ought to be on the side of not allowing someone to completely wipe out an unsuspecting opponent. To do otherwise is to endorse brain injuries'.
  21. โ€œMy main goal is to win a Stanley Cup,โ€ Hellebuyck said. โ€œIโ€™m starting to run out of time.โ€ Taken from the Hockey News A story by Nick Horwat Not knowing my place, not being appreciative enough of having a NHL team, being way too negative and not understanding it's not realistic to expect a championship for this team at some point, sure wish this quote came from Chevy not Helle.
  22. God's law has been compromised. Superior Authority that permitted this photo to be shown must be challenged with all our might. But seriously we joke because it's a coping mechanism but all you knuckle draggers out there that hide behind religion to spew and act on your drivel make it bad for good people of faith and/or religion. I'm tired of hearing your absurdness and the danger your causing to the sane collective society of humans who just want to co-exist and at times thrive with one another. In this specific instance whether you know it or not or accept it, this is not a discussion with multiple varying different perspectives that add value. It's sane versus insane. You've chosen your side. Insane absurd dangerous drivel is not 'just another perspective'. ffs
  23. Too bad he's associated with the stink of Florida and what it represents on humanity and how it's being 'led'. Right, this is sports not politics. Sorry wrong thread. Go Leafs? No, even this isn't enough. ๐Ÿ™‚
  24. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/russia-accuses-ukraine-of-attempted-drone-attack-on-putin/ar-AA1aGcLl?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=0c88bd0253504aac8251c6954a5ac3d7&ei=23 What am I missing here? Person leading said country responsible for waging war and destruction on my country then said country is upset at us retaliating against this person who attacked us?
  25. Exhibit A your Honour: From the Canadian Press: Smith has stated it's not OK for politicians and accused persons to discuss active criminal cases, but says her call to Pawlowski was OK because as a politician it's her role to interact and hear from constituents and didn't realize the January call would be about his criminal case and that she thought she would be talking politics with him in his then-role as the head of the fringe Independence Party on Alberta. Angry supporters of Pawlowski attempted to prevent media from talking to the pastor when he was leaving the court on Tuesday, telling reporters to "prepare to meet thy God" and that they would be judged.
