  1. And if they had Leake available I’d be even more concerned. He was rounding into form nicely.
  2. Yea it would be nice to have JG type returner but my guess is sticking with comfort, i.e., strong ball security.
  3. Be a nice time to hear the announcer say late into the fourth Quarter, well that was the Bombers first 2 and out series of the game.
  4. Never said it wasn't an important factor of course it's a major challenge but that's the role of the GM. The role is not to take the woe is me approach, make it where players want to be part of something here. If the Oilers can do it, we can do it.
  5. And almost every telecast letting us know he use to drive a lays chip truck. Lol
  6. 6-1 against the Oilers farm team but hey we’ll take it.
  7. I’m a curious guy and I’m simply asking on a discussion forum what Chevy’s plan is to make this team more playoff prepared/playoff tough cuz that’s where we’re struggling. The answers I’m seeing from him seem nebulous with little specifics. The answer might not be as straightforward as you’re presenting it and in a strange sort of way I’m defending him from you’re answer cuz I think his job is a bit more complex than you think in the decisions and approaches him and his team need to take. Good GMs get their team to the playoffs consistently, great GM’s get their teams consistently deep into the playoffs. Saying ‘cuz no one wants to play in Winnipeg’ doesn’t cut it.
  8. What a confusing statement to me. First it's not just about free agents but anyways, then why the F have a GM in Winnipeg if no one wants to play here? I guess Chevy can just point to the Winnipeg city sign anytime anyone questions his performance.
  9. From Derek Van Diest: “The regular season is hard, you have to make the playoffs, to do that’s obviously the singular focus going into training camp,” Winnipeg general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff said. “To a man, when we talked to the guys at the end of last season, we talked about how we need to be better, we need to find a way, whether it’s organizationally or individually, we need to be better somehow and all the players talked about that.” I'm with you Chevy, make the damn playoffs and be better from last year but I'm curious to know, from your vantage point, how you have specifically set this team up to be in better position for this seasons playoffs compared to last year's playoffs other than 'find a way, be better somehow'? in my mind, not good enough to say making the playoffs is our sole focus from a GM's perspective. I think it would be, 'We expect to make the playoffs and we expect to do well in post season. That's the expectations we have set to a man. Here's what my role has, is and will be in that process'.
  10. Yup, I'm twitching over here!
  11. Yup you're probably right but regardless any potential advantage, big or small, take it. And as for the media, instead of getting sick of it, have some fun with it in the type of answers you provide them.
  12. I just don’t understand the need for HC’s to announce this to the world. Most times they obviously know whose starting well in advance of the next game but any advantage small or large to help hamper the other team in preparing, take it.
  13. I get what you're saying, it's logical but I think everything matters. I don't think it's an either/or approach, ie more concerned with rushing yards given or more concerned with points against. At the EOD there's room for improvement in all facets of the game. Throw it all into the same pile and work on all of it knowing most of it is all interconnected in some way.
  14. No no no no no. Trickle down economics my friend (patting you on your lower to middle class head).
  15. I haven't been following MLB since the Expos left Montreal and just read the A's are moving out of Oakland. Wow. And also read the open letter to the Oakland fans independently wealthy owner John Fisher posted on X. Criiiinggggyyyyy, especially the line where he hopes the fans join the team on this journey. Barf.
  16. I wish ABH all the luck as long as it doesn't impede the WBB's in fielding the best talent to maximize their success at every position. If unwavering loyalty trumps putting the team first and minimizes game tape review facts I think then it's reasonable for people to post their disappointment in this approach without being criticized as thinking they know more than MOS and company. Yea or no?
  17. Thank you, inserted into my hip pocket with the rest of my chirps to pull out as appropriate. 🙂 I like the impression I give them that anyone can coach the Oilers: McDavid and Draisaitl coming off for a change, coach looks at them and says what are you both doing, get back out there!
  18. I'm just warming up my usual statements for this coming Jets season being surrounded by gross Oiler fans: This year is our year! No, then 2025/2026 year is our year! Crap the year after that is our year! Okay for sure the year after that year! 🙂
  19. So true even at the high school/university level not every player knows one another. I remember asking my son about certain offensive players (he played db), his most often times answer would be I don’t know I don’t know him. lol.
  20. Thanks for that. Appreciated.
  21. TSN Story Line TSN Story Line 🙂
  22. I believe in 2nd chances but I also believe in owning your mistakes and learning from them.
  23. Yup we have THE best RB in the league, might as well use him as much as possible. Don’t overthink, don’t get cute.
