  1. I don't know, you'd have to ask him and yes I am serious. It's late in the game, my opposition just made a circus catch that I didn't get a view on yet, my opposition is all of a sudden running hurry up to get on the ball quick when they should be taking their time so I need to slow things down now, what's at my disposal? Time out or challenge flag. I choose the challenge flag because the bonus is there's a chance it could be overturned based on Calgary not wanting it reviewed. Little bit more than a whim.
  2. It was bang bang as calgary knew it and was in hurry up.. Apparently the feed to our booth staff was down or something so they didnt see it and I didnt see any defenders telling Hall or Oshea to toss the flag.. From what I've heard the coaching staff don't have a special feed for replays. They're basically watching it on monitors using the same feed as us at home watching it on TV. When I saw the first replay I yelled to throw the challenge flag and within a second or less the play was whistled in. It was that fast. What pissed me off is neither Suitor or Black said one word about the catch not being made. All they did was go on and on about what a great catch it was. They should have their football memberships cards revoked. Not to get too critical and knowing when the bullets are flying it's a much different scenario than me sitting in front of a tv in a relaxed atmosphere, but the challenge flag needed to come out as soon as Rogers got back up and the refs signaled good catch.
  3. You're right no guarantees, hasn't proven anything, but all the scouting reports on this kid suggest he's going to be great in the same class has Crosby et al. A little bit more than hype than some other players.
  4. True however when your opposition is wanting to get on the ball quick at a time they should be burning the clock, throw the challenge flag. Throwing the challenge flag could also be seen as calling a timeout as well.

I hear you and hindsight as we know is usually 20 20. However, as a head coach if your opposition is in hurry up after a circus catch and their in the lead where they should be taking their time to burn the clock you might think something is up with that catch so throw the challenge flag and slow things down. Just saying.
  6. That pass back to Bo Levi was perfectly called, he could have walked into the endzone if Mcdaniels makes the throw.
  7. The only positive thing that comes out of those jersey's is using them to help Eskimo fans decipher the difference between Yellow and Gold. The Eskimos are Green and Yellow NOT Green and Gold! So here ends my rant.
  8. Maybe, but didn't save Chamblin and Taman with Durant (and Glenn for a time) going down. A lot of differences between Saskatchewan and here. The Riders biggest problems are on defense which was Chamblin's baby. They were 0-4 going into the game when Glenn was injured because of the defense and they were 0-9 when the two were fired mostly because of the defense. As well, there were off-field issues that the team's President had with Taman that also lead to Taman's firing: http://www.leaderpost.com/business/field+issues+contributed+Taman+firing/11333228/story.html True, I'm not trying to defend them, but it doesn't cancel out the fact they lost their #1 and #2 qb's, the generals of their team.
  9. Maybe, but didn't save Chamblin and Taman with Durant (and Glenn for a time) going down. Reading up on the Chamblin Taman stuff... those 2 really screwed the riders hard. 1/3 of that rider team is 30 or older. They have nobody in the pipeline. They have no cap space even with guys on IR. It's not a fair comparison because it was very obvious Chamblin lost the team. It's not obvious here and despite what maybe 2 or 3 people on here say... Mos has not lost the room. Chamblin did. I think MOS is on the other end of the spectrum right now compared to Chamblin's coaching style. i.e., wants to me more of a player coach than hard ass. e.g., not throwing his players under the bus even if they deserve it when talking about our current record. However, there are limitations as we know with that style. I think MOS eventually will find his style/his identity, get the experience he needs and become a good CFL coach. Whether it's with us or not, don't know. More of the issue that frustrates a lot of us is the Bombers for the last while have become a training facility for rookie head coaches. Let's move on from that show when we hire a new head coach, whenever that may be.

  11. i said the same thing.. Launched himself with his head down, deliberate attempt to spear with helmet.. The fact he launched directly into JFG's helmet is just further intent to injure. That play happens every week in almost every game. DB's using their helmets as weapons trying to intimidate receivers and RB's. The officials rarely call a penalty unless the victim is a QB. Yea, whatever happened to form tackling. And it's not just DB's, it happens at every position. Coaching my 11 year old son and his teammates chest plate tackling with faces/chest up, ready position, buzz the feet, rips and wraps sends mixed messages when he sees what happens at this level as the up and coming CFL fan that he is.
  12. Here I'll help you out. Just for fun from a role playing point of view, what do you think O'Shea would say if he was required to do this but with full disclosure? (i.e., not how it answers the media with sound bytes).
  13. I'm not sure if you understand the term competitive anymore. You own this site so you have the last word on everything. Yep, you're right. I'm wrong. That's the way it is as you're always right anyway. Let's just end this. You win. I'm really starting to wonder, do you talk to your wife, family, friends and colleagues like this? I mean, why can't anyone have a debate with you without getting filled with anger and sarcasm? Are you generally just an angry person? It's okay to be passionate, but it comes across in a very irate and outraged fashion more often than not, and it doesn't make people want to have civil conversations with you. That's a great question for all of us to ask ourselves prior to hitting the post button.
  14. It's interesting you say that as Suitor doesn't seem to be a big fan. He made the point during the Sask game (I believe labor day) to be a premier back you regularly have to make the first guy miss which Suitor believes Marshall isn't doing.
  15. I wonder if someone has warned Matthews what to do after his sixth two and out.
  16. My thought as well. We're in a better position now to suggest it's more of a talent issue.
  17. My educated guess is you're not suggesting you'd quit being a lifetime Blue and Gold supporter, but suggesting you may retract your loyalty to certain decision-makers if certain scenarios present themselves. Two different things.
  18. We're shifting responsibility of scoring to our our defense. Offense is in charge of briefing the ST's.
  19. Hate to say it but it was one of the best entertaining games I've watched all year. Back and forth almost all the way. Burris was a machine with over 400 yards passing.
  20. I would say he will start but if he's not making it happen, Popp will pop in Cato. Cato probably would be starting if he was there. I'm hoping it doesn't matter who they play at QB.
  21. My immediate hope is Boyd pushes Nichols to be better. That would be instant production from Boyd.
  22. Bang on. Utility players like Buff are rare. Very few teams have that luxury. In came in quite handy for us over the past seasons. We give it up, we ain't finding it again any time soon.
  23. Sorry, I don't buy that logic. The NFL has already passed on them the first time and in a lot of cases their sham degree from "Southern Pinestick A&M" is not going to lead to many employment opportunities in the real world that pay as well as a job in the CFL.. I can't stand this bias against athletes. Find one guy on our roster that is from a school you've never heard of. My brother coaches at the University/National level and academic standing (GPA and attendance) is a high priority for his athletes. That is, unacceptable academic standing means no play (no matter who you are) until it's brought up to the standard set by the University regardless of sport (I believe its around 3.00 GPA and 80% attendance rate). So I think the more practical question, for me at least is, where do American Universities sit with this when it comes to football play and academic standing with their student athletes? My educated guess would be it varies from University to University.
  24. Without having any idea what Castillo can do??I'm sure he can kick converts Yep the most important part of the job for sure. Let's see if you're singing a different tune when he is 100% on converts and 60% on field goals??? I'll take that if our red zone percentage is high, i.e., scoring more touchdowns than field goals.
