I was watching the game yesterday between the Leafs and the Nucks and Hughson and Simpson were discussing Austin Matthews for the 679th time, this time concerning his lack of powerplay minutes. However, the conversation did not centre around helping the Leafs win and/or improving their number one powerplay unit, it centred around how it impedes him from getting a Hart trophy, aiding his contract talks, etc. As a coach hearing this, this frustrates them. This is not about one player and his individual needs, it's about the the team no? If Buff is upset on not being on the ice for the last two minutes of the game only because of his ego, trade him. To win championships, you hear it all the time, Big Team little me. If Buff is upset on not being on the ice for the last two minutes of the game because he is a competitor but understands the bigger picture, that can be more easily dealt with. Ps if we give coaches a hard time of airing internal team issues with the media, players should be given a hard time as well.

All this makes sense now as the telecast for the Sabres game was panning on Buff the last couple of minutes of the game and he did not look himself. I hope we don't trade Buff unless we get something huge in return.

I agree with having him as insurance (depth) is nice. However, that's why I think trading Hutch now may wield a bit more in return from desperate teams than what he really should wield in return, i.e., 3rd 4th rounder. I think his stock will be as high as it will ever be right now so take advantage of it. On the other hand, maybe Chevy already has sent out feelers for Hutch and there has been no takers or anything reasonable offered back. Dunno.

I think it was both. Our O Line was extremely good coupled with DL actually being good at that particular skill, i.e., having a signature move that was hard to stop mixed with the ability to call an audible on that move if he saw the need. I do agree though he also needs to be able to QB which he seemed to struggle with last season when he was given the opportunity.

We have many great Republican members of Congress and candidates who are very supportive of the Make America Great Again agenda. Like me, they love the United States of America and are helping to finally take our country back and build it up, rather than simply seeking to burn it all down.

Isn't the biggest reason a favorable expansion draft process compared to how it was done with previous expansion teams? I remember glossing over that when Las Vegas was about to draft their players but can't remember the particulars and whether they had the advantage not previously enjoyed by other expansion teams.
