  1. Yes he's not playing to his usual level of late but I think he has been an incredible investment for this team overall thus far for $185,000. He has given this team a jolt of confidence knowing they have him there. That type of stuff is hard to quantifiably measure.
  2. I wouldn't right him off just yet. For the last little while, I've noticed when he actually makes a field goal, he still looks like someone peed in his cornflakes. Something is going on with him mentally, hope it's just football and hope he snaps out of it. At this stage, I still wouldn't take anyone else.
  3. I was impressed with Givens, especially against a very aggressive Toronto defense and his play on special teams. Washington decided to show a bit of grit right at the end to make a couple of clutch catches. Dressler's my man, what a player, just keeps the defense honest and opens up for other receivers. Loved how he went over to the Toronto coach to voice his displeasure after taking that brutal 'throw head into turf' hit, then bounced up the next play after taking a clean but violent hit near the sideline. Without him in the lineup today, Toronto wins that game easily.
  4. A huge liability. At times, it's like we are playing with eleven defensive players on the field.
  5. Excellent, thanks for showing up.
  6. Umm Defense, game start was at 2:00pm. Please get to the field as fast as you can.
  7. Every time someone (media, politician etc) responds to Trump's craziness, we're playing right into his hands. He likes chaos, he likes attention good or bad and revels in it. He truly thinks he is a master of ratings, a genius if you will. Imagine taking a totally different approach and not responding nor reporting on anything Trump (and his ardent supporters) does or says. Let the Fox news network take care of that. I think that would totally drive him over the bend. It's a very similar approach that very smart people have said about how to deal with racist groups.
  8. Is that his ceiling for his pro career or just looking at it as breaking into the league as a rookie?
  9. Connor ahead of Ehlers on paper looks weird but I get it in terms of matching and chemistry. Hope it works.
  10. Plus I like our chances better on the road for the final. Beat whoever at home in the semi, then stop their galloping horse on the sidelines to book our GC ticket.
  11. So anywho, anyway of resigning Thorpe? I'll show myself out of this thread. :-)
  12. Reality is going to catch up to this team sooner than later.
  13. This is our make or break statement.
  14. Yup I think so too.
  15. And he won. That's all I'm saying. Yes obviously their line needs work but Jennings poor play can't be saddled solely on their oline.
  16. I think the were too influenced by watching our game tape against Hamilton and thought they could expose our db's. Nope.
  17. Sure but Travis Lulay was playing better than Jennings when he was in this year. Did he not have the same Oline Jennings is working with?
  18. Yes, baffling. Especially with how Jennings was/is playing. Simplify the game for him, i.e., put the ball in his playmakers hands, i.e., handoffs and quick screens. Missing Travis Lulay much?
  19. Yup, perfect kicks, nice speed and loft right to Leggett and JFK. Didn't give his guys any chance to recover.
  20. Not only that, some of the their guys seem like really bad teammates. For example, it seemed every time Rainey got tackled he'd get up, put his arms out, and body complain like a teammate didn't throw an appropriate block or something. Brutal. If I'm a coach and I see that he comes off the field. And Awe's helmet to helmet tackle on Harris was dangerous and reckless. I'm a little surprised by Duane Forde for not acknowledging that. He only pointed out how lucky Harris was in not getting hurt when his helmet blew off. Manny Arceneaux looks know where near the player he was.
  21. Let me guess. If reporter said, 70.6 percent would suggest passive box isn't working he would say lack of execution. Coaches goto phrase when defending a system. I've used it as well. :-) In theory, passive box clogs up shooting lanes with big bodies and sticks. In reality with our team, to use your terms, shooting gallery. My guess is teams with the best PK have an aggressive PK. In hockey passive box is one of my biggest pet peeves. I'll move on now.
  22. The Hurricanes' penalty killing is better at 83.3 percent, good for 12th overall, while the Jets are 28th with 70.6 percent. I know it's only four games in but wow. We need two forwards up high. I noticed they've tweaked their box to one guy high. Imo we need two guys, we have the personal to play an aggressive box not passive.
  23. My guess he does it to get a rise out of people to create the opportunity to call some one a snowflake, libtard, etc if you disagree.
  24. If in fact Buff was a healthy scratch, play him against the nucks and see how he reacts. If he continually wanders away from the system bench him again even if we win. Buff is my favorite player, however he needs to do less freelancing and taking shifts off while on the ice. And I agree with your observation about Myers after watching the game against the Oilers, he seemed off, rusty (for good reason) so once he gets back to where he can be our goalies will be appreciative. I don't think I would sit him though, he needs game speed to get his legs back under him. Just saw this from Ken Wiebe: HC Paul Maurice said Dustin Byfuglien won't play tomorrow vs #Canucks and remains day-to-day with a soft-tissue issue Is soft-tissue issue just another way of saying 'play our system or you're benched'?
  25. With his tweet, Johnson is talking about being released from Ottawa.
