  1. Let me guess. If reporter said, 70.6 percent would suggest passive box isn't working he would say lack of execution. Coaches goto phrase when defending a system. I've used it as well. :-) In theory, passive box clogs up shooting lanes with big bodies and sticks. In reality with our team, to use your terms, shooting gallery. My guess is teams with the best PK have an aggressive PK. In hockey passive box is one of my biggest pet peeves. I'll move on now.
  2. The Hurricanes' penalty killing is better at 83.3 percent, good for 12th overall, while the Jets are 28th with 70.6 percent. I know it's only four games in but wow. We need two forwards up high. I noticed they've tweaked their box to one guy high. Imo we need two guys, we have the personal to play an aggressive box not passive.
  3. My guess he does it to get a rise out of people to create the opportunity to call some one a snowflake, libtard, etc if you disagree.
  4. If in fact Buff was a healthy scratch, play him against the nucks and see how he reacts. If he continually wanders away from the system bench him again even if we win. Buff is my favorite player, however he needs to do less freelancing and taking shifts off while on the ice. And I agree with your observation about Myers after watching the game against the Oilers, he seemed off, rusty (for good reason) so once he gets back to where he can be our goalies will be appreciative. I don't think I would sit him though, he needs game speed to get his legs back under him. Just saw this from Ken Wiebe: HC Paul Maurice said Dustin Byfuglien won't play tomorrow vs #Canucks and remains day-to-day with a soft-tissue issue Is soft-tissue issue just another way of saying 'play our system or you're benched'?
  5. With his tweet, Johnson is talking about being released from Ottawa.
  6. I think sometimes this is overstated. We don't like seeing the Bombers lose and when they do of course we state what went wrong then we move on. Most (not all) on this board vent (at varying levels) then move on.
  7. This I'll agree. I was having a discussion with my tv last night in why the h#ll do they play the passive box with the players they have? Stop collapsing the box! It was well executed by the players but it doesn't work with the type of players we have therefore this is on the coach who takes care of the PK. We got a shorthanded goal because Tanev played aggressive before the flames could set up. We need the forwards high on the D.
  8. Yes I remember the discussion on this board early in the season about where would we compromise talent on D i.e., linebacking core versus halfbacks and corners. We are 10 and 4 and Randle and company (outside of last night) are a big part of why we are 10 and 4 but our weaknesses at the linebacker positions really showed up last night. Hurl needs to go back to molded as a special teams demon and the odd wrinkle player on D. I think that's what he is suited for and could make a great career out of it, not as a starting MLB in the CFL.
  9. Plus, I'm not sure we are going to win out this year. I hated watching that game last night on all sides of the ball BUT after a good nights sleep we are still 10 and 4. As I said this wasn't going to be a cakewalk if Hamilton plays tough and they did. It wasn't just bad execution on our part (e.g., horrendous tackling), they are playing at a different level now since the coaching change. Time to regroup. I'll be worried if we lose out the rest of our games. I don't see that happening. p.s watching Hurl with blockers was like watching magnets stick together, geez.
  10. For all those on this board reading the above who think people are snowflakes, 'libtards ', hypocrites every time they criticize Donald Trump and /or for the people who also use the Obama (insert other names) was a lot worse, how would you explain Trump's exchange with these reporters? Like seriously, what other argument could you use to defend this approach other than we're a bunch of Libtards /snowflakes who would be a lot worse off if Clinton and Obama were in charge? This simple exchange just piled on another trigger in elevating people's real anxieties that they are trying to deal with minute by minute. It is completely absurd a person in a leadership position (right, left, middle) can't recognize that . Therefore talking about this man shot way past political ideology a long, long time ago.
  11. Riders Suck. That's what we all should put on the back of our jerseys.
  12. Sure I'd love a blowout and I don't care anything of Hamilton's defense, offense, special teams , oskie wee wee etc but on any given Sunday (or in this case Friday) . . . I sometimes find teams of higher caliber play to level of lower caliber teams. If that happens (which I don't want it to happen), Medlock may have to take care of business.
  13. Not necessarily if Hamilton plays tough tonight.
  14. Medlock comes back strong tonight, wins it for us.
  15. This is where GM's, Coaches, scouts and others really demonstrate their skill level, i.e., depth, depth, depth.
  16. The problem though as some argue is it doesn't matter if the cap goes up, some organizations won't have the money to spend more anyways turning them into/keeping them as 'have not organizations' to paraphrase the Calgary Flames organization.
  17. I hear what you're saying but not starting him could have the same effect that you are trying to protect him from.
  18. Fair enough and I agree with you about earned but in this specific scenario I think it's wise to start him, give him one mulligan.
  19. Really, we've given up on Mason already? If I was the coach which I'm not, I'd start Mason and tell him show me that was an anomaly.
  20. I was at the game and he was really favoring his right (I think but could have been his left) arm. And he was testing it out on the sidelines for strength it seems . So I don't know if that suggests shoulder, forearm other? One could argue he's the best player on this team so hopefully pulling him from the game quite early was precautionary thinking big picture, i.e rather risk losing to Edmonton than risk losing Mo long term. Just saw the posts above, so all is good.
  21. Apparently he's the next coming of Wayne Gretzky. Everyday it seems I see a headline: Is Matthews a God? Discuss.
  22. A Eskiblow friend texted me during the game after Medlock missed yet another one. He asked: 'What's wrong with your kicker?" I replied: 'What's wrong with yours?' :-) I've been to the Bomber game in Edmonton 13 years in a row since I moved here and this is the most Bomber fans I've seen in the stands. Bandwagon jumpers . . . :-)
  23. Going to the game. Look for me, I'll be the guy in Blue and Gold. Maybe we're due for a defensive gem? Go Blue!
  24. We should have a groan emoticon.
  25. That and Loffler staying healthy so Jones doesn't see the field at safety. He's been horrendous imho.
