  1. Yeesh. I'm just alluding to the fact he made two clutch catches. Yes we lost that game but he wasn't on the field with 27 seconds to go that lost us the game..
  2. I think he made two clutch in last weeks Calgary game.
  3. And don't let Bell get in a groove. Eliminate their run game.
  4. Dressler is twice the receiver Smith is regardless of age. I don't have a crystal ball but I see Dressler playing another three to four years controlling for injury and/or will. There's no way I give this guy up. Extend him for another two years.
  5. Sorry you've missed the point as per my original post. I'm not suggesting the call I think should have been called is the 'right' one and the one actually called is the 'wrong' one. As I stated it comes to style and approach in how you call a defence in certain situations.
  6. While management is working on a deal, is it possible to play out an existing contract with integrity (i.e., bringing it everyday) while it's known that a change of scenery is requested? If not, why? Is it because one could risk injury? One's relationships/acceptance with their teammates makes things uncomfortable? Other? This is yet another example of how the often used and nebulous statement 'This is a business' is demonstrated in a variety, and often contradictory, ways.
  7. That's a great point which isn't discussed enough when it comes to the use of technology versus us humans in sport.
  8. I always find these statements weird. Of course the Jets are under pressure to be contenders. That's their job, every last one of them, coaches, management and players. The be 'realistic' argument is defeatist to me.
  9. Okay but different levels of interest.
  10. Again, disagree, there's more than one 'correct' way to play certain situations. it comes down to philosophy and style. Not all defensive coordinators are the same. All 'correct' ways can get beat. It's like being up by a goal in hockey. one 'correct' way is to tighten up defensively. another 'correct' way is too keep pressing.
  11. It's called salary cap for some teams and I'm betting that some won't want/can't pay 3-5 mil for a non-slam dunk proven commodity.
  12. Probably not as a result of his asking price AND not exactly sure if he's as good as he thinks.
  13. If nothing gets done before the start of the season and the Jets bust out of the gate, puts us in the drivers seat. If the Jets Shite the bed out of the gate, pressures up. Roll the dice. With New Jersey trading away Larsson, they might be a suitor.
  14. 'Trouba is dead to me.' Paul Maurice. :-)
  15. In this case it didn't. You can blame it on whoever, whatever you want. They needed a field goal. Play the defense you've been playing all second half. Don't give them an inch. If they beat you, they deserve it.
  16. I assume Paul Maurice doesn't know who Jacob Trouba is anymore, doesn't want to be a Jet, don't know who he is. See Frolik. I really like Paul Maurice.
  17. Play to win, not to lose. Drives me nuts.
  18. Why would you bring up Myers? Trouba has asked for a trade. He doesn't want to play here. Has nothing to do with Myers.
  19. I found myself pulling for him watching the game. I wanted him to light it up but didn't happen. It will be interesting next week in how he plays after a week of starting reps. He's a guy easy to cheer for, just not against us.
  20. Maybe I'm not explaining myself well. I'm suggesting that a challenge clock counts down as soon as the play is whistled down and once it runs out (five seconds), a coach cannot throw a challenge flag. The play clock is another clock that is for a different purpose.
  21. I said it here a while ago, coaches should have very little time to call a challenge. Once the play ends, you have five (?) seconds to call that challenge. We have teams looking at their Ipads determining whether to challenge or not. Give them very limited time to do that. We have a play clock why not a challenge clock?
  22. Hey I'd like more touchdowns as well but with Nichols we seem to get a well managed game that, to date, requires a fair amount of field goal attempts. When it comes down to it, it's great that we have a placekicker that gives us that option starting from 58 yards out.
  23. I'd also add try to get under his skin. Whose are best chirper on our team? Assign him to Messam from the mental aspect of the game. When things aren't going his way and/or he's been mentally played with, it gets him frustrated. My observations over the years on him is then he doesn't become the best teammate when things aren't puppy dogs, lollypops and unicorns which then fosters a negative vibe with the rest of his Stampeders. Every bit will count in how we beat them. Call it the Cleo Lemon effect.
  24. You can't be serious. They play in the same league but they are not in the same league.
