With locking up Connor, acquiring Dano, Helle'buyck's development period in the big leagues and having the 2nd overall draft pick and knowing Chevy's history and where we are at, can't see him pulling the pin on a major trade anytime soon unless of course it's a no brainer. More likely we will see a half dozen minor trades if there any takers on players like Stuart, Stafford, Burmistrov, Hutchinson, Postma etc. If anything, we may focus more at acquiring a upgrade in Goaltending to push Helle and Pav/Hutch. I'd say out of all the positions, that's where the most uncertainty is even with Helle's l potential. I'm not sure who we could realistically think about acquiring.

How about this one, something completely different than what's a normal reaction to scoring. Every touchdown we score the fans and players do the whispering motion and sound to Psyche out the opponent. That would be an ironically loud sound in the stadium. No, okay I'll go back to the drawing board. Oh and I'm with the posters who think scoring more touchdowns would be nice.

Thing is, he made the decision to blow the team up and in some cases, imo, deleting quality 'square plugs' he already had in place. So, if I was a fan of this team, which thank God I'm not (whatever God you may or may not believe in), then yes I would expect it is up to him to patch certain areas together in an expedient way because he already had it in place but chose his own pegs. Jones and company are going to get this incredibly right or going to get this incredibly wrong. Nothing in-between here is my guess. Wonder how Jones will handle the media and their fans if the ship hits an iceberg hard. Right now, he's still in the honeymoon phase.

We have lots of cap room. Not excessive at all imo. I think it's more of a test of how willing Ownership is willing to spend to the cap.

I think it's more appropriate to say NHL coaching experience isn't mandatory. I would suggest having NHL coaching experience is relevant to consider when looking for a suitable head coach of a professional hockey team..

How about, they didn't cost us the game. For me, Hurl and Buknor are no where near the 'we need them in the lineup or we're sunk' status. More of the, "we are managing things with them in the lineup' status.

Bigger picture though for me is Jones and his approach in how he does things, from coaching, to management, to players, to fans, to media etc. Time will tell obviously but, with all the respect I can muster, not a guy I want anywhere near my Bombers. I think Jones Ego is going to blow him and this team up. He's putting his own mark on this team and letting his ego get in the way of retaining quality players from the old regime without his stamp of approval. Me too but good luck with that. Name me a professional sport that applies every 'black and white' rule 100% properly while the game is being played. I'm not defending the silly calls, incompetent calls that ought to be straightforward. I'm incensed like the rest of us when it costs our team. However, what I'm settled down and thinking logically, I'm suggesting, and I think a few other posters here are as well, is a continuous improvement process versus perfect or nothing. No one who thinks this through is suggesting being flexible with accountability, it's more of always working toward that gold standard of performance. The one's that can't are usually, not always, but usually left behind. One of things that tells me the CFL wants to improve officiating is a few CFL referees from last year were relegated/let go as well as their partnership with NFL referees.

Refereeing has so many components to it that it's difficult to clearly categorize as simply good or bad. I see it as there's a great degree of room for improvement in many aspects of refereeing (technology, interpretation of rules, rule appropriateness, player/coach/referee mutual respect, quality of applicants wanting to be refs, training, compensation, consistency, appropriate reprimands for poor performance etc etc) I actually have no problem with this perspective, it's just a perspective, a voice wanting to be heard among many others.
