  1. Maybe, but your consistent sentiments like above really come across as, 'Whose my favorite Team? 'My favorite team is a team that wins all the time'. Yes, we all are frustrated, impatient, provide critique/opinions and want our team to win, but we also balance that with being ardent supporter that will defend this team anywhere, anytime. The Bombers could go 0 and 18 and I would still wear our colors proud and loud.
  2. Spoken like a true dlineman, unbiased of course.
  3. Worst. Defenseman. Ever. Second place, imo, goes to Tim Watters, couldn't stand how he was constantly outmuscled off the puck . ugh.
  4. My guess is that's exactly why he didn't drop the gloves. He knows he would have been pummeled.
  5. Sorry, just thinking out loud. How about the Bombers marketing group figure out a way to organize a section (or something) for all the Bomber fans who live in the enemy cities where the Bombers are travelling?
  6. See Edmonton Oliers as a reference.
  7. This brings back memories of how Lundholm usually 'celebrated' scoring a goal (the odd time he did shoot), i.e., when right back to centre ice like nothing happened. Classic. Which it also gets me thinking wasn't it Lundholm who deked himself into the corner on a penalty shot without even shooting it? Good times.
  8. Thomas Steen, my all time favorite Jet.
  9. Mark Kumpel, Tim Trimper, Jordy Douglas ugh :-)
  10. No, just no. Now that My man Buff is retained, I'm jumping on the Myers wagon. He's a keeper imo. He has not reached is full potential, he's still young, and like Buff, he's an unique player that doesn't come around to often.
  11. It's called pride I think.
  12. Throw in some discipline and no lazy stick infractions.
  13. No one player can make a team a cup contender. It's more like will retaining Ladd help put us over the top from pretenders to contenders? With what he's shown and with what's coming up the ranks I'd say possibly yes. Trading away Ladd I sense we break even unless Chevy completely hoodwinks someone.
  14. It means being a consistently supportive team member especially in rough times, it means having a genuine presence in the community where you still go to the children's hospital even when you're dead tired and not because you're told too but you want too, it means appreciation for getting paid well for a sport a lot of us love playing and watching, it means committing too and acting on the system the coach has implemented making the necessary individual sacrifices/changes that's required, it means, like any profession, having a high level of emotional intelligence that can't be seen by shooting a puck into a net (see Evander Kane as an example), etc. I can guarantee that if you took all the multi talented yet narcissistic type players and put them all on the same team, dysfunctional and losses will follow. So yes other things than pure skill is what scouts, coaches and general managers look for, guaranteed.
  15. That's strange, Rexall is usually noted for the best ice in the league. I don't think it's the ice that ails Trouba of late.
  16. Depending on how lucartive her practice in Winnipeg is, in this day in age she wouldn't necessarily have to start over depending on their circumstances and sacrifices they are willing to make. A lot of professionals, even athletes, keep their homebase and work elsewhere, i.e., She stays in Winnipeg, he works in ?, they meet up when they can, not the greatest but doable.
  17. My guess, and it's purely a guess, is that some (not all) entertainers do this for fun, thinking they are being clever, trying to get a rise out of people and thinking to themselves 'look what I can do', not knowing and/or not caring that what they do can indeed impact lives and cohesion. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad, sometimes for both. Some of them live in this special world with their own way of doing things, experts in all of the social world ills that ail us commoners. :-)
  18. I love Buff, I'm happy we retained him, but I'm not sure I completely buy this face value. 8 million for how long? Would the teams offering that kind of money be teams that would have appealed to him? It doesn't tell you the whole story even if true.
  19. I thought for sure you would have said last second 'no attempt to recover' fumble by Cam Newton in the endzone for a touchdown? Too early?
  20. Insert Number 1 draft pick in place of Matthews, that's what the Oilers have been saying for last while.
  21. I'm also in favour of not following the path of the Oilers dating back to the start of 2005. Yes I understand getting a high draft pick is awesome to some but I have a case study here to suggest it can actually cause more frustration than hope.
  22. Detroit might have something to say to that. I think it's 24/25 yeras running they've made the playoffs.
  23. Tip of the iceberg or isolated case? Always curious about the NHL and the use of PED's compared to other sports like baseball, cycling etc. Having no real reliable hard data just makes this more of a conversation with speculative opinions, but interesting none the less.
  24. Woooosh goes my glimmer. :-)
  25. How many points are we out of a playoff position? I think it's premature to call this as much as all signs signal sinking boat. Still a glimmer of hope for me.
